What’s the movie The Bourne Legacy about?
The Treadstone program, of which Jason Bourne (Matt Damon from The Martian, The Great Wall and Downsizing) was the guinea pig, was just the tip of a vast conspiracy, implemented by several branches of government. From Treadstone came Outcome, a program that trained men to take on high-risk solo missions. But in unveiling part of the organization, Bourne leaves behind an explosive legacy where Outcome agents must be removed so the program director can continue to operate.his activities. Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner from The Hurt Locker and the Avengers), one of these agents, managed to escape assassination and was later assisted by Dr. Shearing. Their trail is traced, and a LARX killer is sent, and a chase begins. The police lose track of them, and the killer has a serious accident. They leave Manila by boat, incognito.

My fave "Bourne" movie and while it is just a movie and obviously the scene is heavily choregraphed, I do love how when the lady gets a one arm choke hold on him, he completely deprioritizes it and instead focuses on immediately taking out the man...that is how it's done in the real world (a U.S. Recon Marine vet and former Close Combat Instructor).

This was a great movie. The problem with it was the big action chase at the end. It had been done before in the other Bourne movies. And Mission Impossible. If they would have thought up something original, or at least not another motorcycle chase with a super assassin chasing them, it would have been huge. Instead it seemed they fell to the common thinking of "What do we do then? Let's do another motorcycle chase through a crowded city." "Haven't we done that before? "Sure, but we'll make the stunts even bigger-, the streets even more crowded, and we'll make the police presence massive. So massive that they seem to be everywhere and know exactly where Cross and Shearing are at any given moment. It's like the cops are psychic--right up until they get rid of the super assassin and the police suddenly lose interest in searching for them, despite knowing their last known location because half the city saw them go in that direction." "Great! Audiences will love yet another motorcycle chase!" "What about the ending?" "We'll toss them on a boat just like one of the other Bourne movies--all for the price of a watch. It'll be great!"

I thought this was better than all the sequels to the first film - they were all far too overblown.
This was tense, and fast, but had time to create character for the leads and empathy.
Jeremy Renner makes himself very watchable and he doesn't over act. He was also really terrific in Arrival.
