  • Hiiii everyone! I made it through the first week lol It was forsure an experience and I'm finally getting the hang of the workload. Yes, I have roughy about 20 assignments per week and my best advice is to take COLLEGE ALGEBRA SOMEWHERE ELSE and don't get intimidated by the homework! Chip away at it and next thing you know you're done :)
    Thank you for being on this roller coaster journey with me!

    I'm a California learner at Nightingale, too! You got this. Just keep going. My first semester was rough, but keeping a schedule, stay motivated, and reached out to those resources. Good luck!

      Is it fully online? I'm in California too and I wouldn't mind having to fly out for my clinicals/skills. I currently have an associates degree is psychology. Would I be able to get into the BSN program?

    Hi! Love your video! I'm also at CAL and wanted to apply to Nightingale. Just finished the interview with one of the recruiter. May I ask do you get FAFSA to cover your tuition? And do you get subsidized and unsubsidized loans? The interviewer told me I might need to take out private loans to pay for the tuition which makes me hesitate to continue the application process.

    • @student_jenn
      @student_jenn  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi! I do have FAFSA but it has never covered my tuition fully for my LVN program at Unitek and the BSN program at Nightingale College unfortunately… I’m currently using the GI BILL from the military to pay for the BSN program.
      For my LVN program which was $35k in 2018 I did do a loan with my parents because I was only 19 at the time and didn’t have enough credit. We went through EdFinancial as the loaner. I didn’t pay it while I was in school and only began paying it after I graduated!
      Don’t be discouraged by the amount tbh it’s a sacrifice for the big reward at the end! Nursing school is expensive especially going to a private college but a big gain once you earn that CA RN paycheck and pay it off.
      Good luck and I wish you all the best in your journey to nursing!

    Hi, first off congratulations on the big step to a better career and lifestyle for your family. Question… do you have to take an entrance exam for the school? How was that? Do they require any college? I’m not an LVN and don’t have any hospital experience.

    • @student_jenn
      @student_jenn  3 месяца назад +2

      Hi! Thank you and the entrance exam is generic (English, Reading and Math) they call it the ACUPLACER and you get 3 attempts to pass.
      I advise you get all your prerequisites done at a community college for the simple fact that it’s much cheaper. BUT no it’s not required to get into Nightingale College you would just take all the prerequisites and general education classes with them which will take about 3-4 years to completely finish with your BSN.
      Hope this helps!

    Hi, I am in a current LVN program and set to graduate Jan 2025 and I would like to do nightingale BSN program. But I’m clueless about everything because this isn’t something I’m use to. Are your assignments self paced? Is there someone who can help if you can questions? How often do you have to travel and how long is the travel? Thank you answering my questions!

    • @student_jenn
      @student_jenn  6 месяцев назад

      Hey! So the assignments are self-paced but have a deadline that they are due each week. It’s exactly like taking online classes, you have real professors and can talk to them/ask questions through CANVAS or during their office hours online through TEAMS. I travel once a semester for a week. On the website they have the list of BSN classes that require travel for clinicals. The last nursing class is BSN 395 and it’s 135 clinical hours so you’ll be gone for about 3 weeks to do those hours of preceptorship.

    can i get ahead on assignments and how are they if you don't show up for the mandatory webinar? I thought they were recorded and you can watch it later. what if you need to be out of the country for 2 weeks do you think they would allow that?

    • @student_jenn
      @student_jenn  2 месяца назад

      Hi! so far I've been able to watch the pre-recorded webinars and be fine, there's a code you have to put to be counted for in attendance thats in the video. If you're going to be out of the country you need to talk to your counselor/strtegist because you'll need to get access to the school's VPN to get into CANVAS. You can't get ahead of assignments because they're locked until the week for it starts!

    Hello, did you verify with BRN if Nightingale college is accredited? Ive heard they have a lot of CA learners but i just want to make sure before I start?

    • @student_jenn
      @student_jenn  3 месяца назад +2

      Hi! Nightingale College is registered in California as an out-of-state institution by the Bureau for Private
      Postsecondary Education.
      I wouldn’t spend such a large amount of money on a school that’s not accredited at the state I’m living at lol that would be crazy😂 . There are also many students who recently graduated from Nightingale and had no issues sitting for the NCLEX :)
      Hope this helps!

    • @student_jenn
      @student_jenn  2 месяца назад

      Submit your transcripts and they’ll do an evaluation of what else is missing! I can’t say exactly if you would need or not need any other classes because everyone’s program plan are different. But to answer your question anyone can get into Nightingale just need to take the nursing classes and GE classes required

    Can you do this program if you live in Oregon? Is it accredited? How does taking the NCLEX work after ?

    • @student_jenn
      @student_jenn  4 месяца назад

      I’m actually not sure since I live in California so I think you would have to call admissions and ask…sorry! It’s different for every state and they’re pretty good about letting future learners know if they’re accredited with where you’ll be.
      So to sit for the NCLEX in California I would submit a transcript from Nightingale College and complete the application through the official BRN portal. Each state has their own BRN website and it usually states how to apply to take the exam for out of state nursing programs. Hope this helps!

    • @student_jenn
      @student_jenn  Месяц назад

      hey! so they don't have an LVN to BSN program available to California students. It's just a BSN program, the prerequisites are the same anywhere else with having completed anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, nutrition, college algebra, statistics, english, public speaking etc. having an LVN license gave me an automatic 10 credits applied towards the program. The list of pre-requisites are in their website and in total i transfered 57 college credits and passed 2 HESI's that put me to 5 semesters until I graduted with my BSN.
      Hope this helps!
