How did this podcast "expose" Howie? What an embarrassing and cringe podcast. The guy asked horrible questions and had horrible responses. The entire cadence of the podcast sucked.

Patrick talks about how Howie didn't know them or didn't learn anything about them but they don't know the most important thing about their guest and how he dislikes getting bombarded about his disorder? Pathetic being that defensive and claiming you did nothing wrong.
One of the dumb things is how Howie says he goes out of his way to go out despite his fear of germs, then later they talk bad about him saying how he didn't wanna be there despite him talking about that thing. They where just bad hosts

yeah, that's why seeking help is so hard. the more I speak about it, the more I think about it or obssess over it the worse it affects me. people always say "don't bottle it up" but that might actually be the better option for me. alongside with what Howie said, which is: always try to do something distracting, don't let the thoughts wander. I think that's really good advice and something I've been practicing. or just having something constantly playing in the background like a stream or a podcast or music helps a little. going to the gym feels cathartic because for that one hour you're there you just completely dissociate.
got a friend who struggles with ocd, especially with bad thoughts, i think the hosts were trying to relate but howie isnt very open and the hosts didnt handle it well either. but what really is disingenuous is the youtube video trying to pull it in every which way
@@DaTripas its tough, as somebody who tried to "bottle up" I realized the times I do think or talk about it, it becomes enhanced or worse. Something I've been doing that's helped is accepting its a part of who you are, lets be honest you cant change it, over come it, you have to live with it. Im not perfect I'm still learning but accepting, coming to terms and figuring out how to get out of those thought patterns or even taking the time and let those thoughts happen and analyze them seriously can help. Everybody is different though.
bro tbh its not that big of a deal, howie is unfunny sometimes but them going out afterward and calling him "the worst guest" or whatever is just fucked up. bad podcast, bad hosts, not a ton of "what if" preparation, the co-host basically added nothing to the conversation, like 75% of the blame is on them, and howie just chose bad timing for jokes.
He was so unaware it was painful, both sides. Sure, the guy makes bad jokes but you are the host, two of them actually and none of them can manage that shi.. or at least play into it. They just became defensive and hurt and that guy couldn't stfu making it about himself most of the episode.
I think you nailed it, atleast that's what it seems like to me without watching their actual podcast and only seeing what they showed here.
Terrible podcaster vs. Terrible guest
Howie was the most normal one.Also OCD drugs make you feel like a zombie literally removes any good mood you have with OCD. He went into podcast to answer normal questions,said very nicely between the lines he doesn't want to think about OCD MULTIPLE TIMES and wants a distraction/talk about something else,then the host went on asking weird inappropriate question over and over again ALL about OCD and made the WHOLE podcast about his mental illness when it was about the guest. Howie had every right not to answer. The second host was quiet and didn't distract the conversation. And now both of them playing a victim card for attacking a person with OCD who nicely asked to not talk about it. How is he a terrible guest? What your reaction would be if you had cancer and I kept bringing it up and you asked to change the subject but I just asked more weirder question for hours.

I have seen pods with howie before and i feel like hes funny and easy going. I think this video is painting a different picture than reality. To me it seems howie is sarcastic and dry, but i don’t see a problem with him.

Honestly this video was really confusing. I realized halfway through the video that Howie was the guest, cause he said Howie was supposed to research the podcast beforehand which is something I haven’t really heard before. Also the video tried to paint Howie as the worst person when the hosts were just as bad with their terrible questions and answers
The thing is and it upsets me the most in this analysis that you have kind of a big guest and don't know that he hates being asked continuously about his disorder but getting mad that he doesn't know you? This video was just reaction content in form of "youtube journalism". Basically just commentating over a podcast without touching on who Howie is or how he got where he was.
Reality is very different than what creators with millions of subscribers say, in a video with a source of 1 podcast.
OCD is irrational. If they have OCD about germs, cleaning things doesn't necessarily satisfy their grievances, for some it might, for others it wont. It's a complex mental disorder and it's not based in logic.
If you talk about OCD when you suffer from it, you become highly aware of it and it gets worse. It is a truth shared by all OCD sufferers.

youtube monetization, they scan your video/audio for "demonetized words". This recently came to include embedded chats. There's a google sheet for the banned words somewhere.
As far as I recall, there was a rule recently where if people swear in the first few seconds/minutes, it can be demonetized. So streamers now probably also block their chat in the first little bit for that reason in case (I assume, could be wrong).
as far as i know its because that oh wait someone already replied and said the reason so why did two other people feel the need to reply as well and say the exact same thing that the first commenter said and why do i see this thing in so many comment sections where people reply and add nothing to the discussion
Gonna go out on a limb and take a guess. RUclips has some system that checks the beginning of videos (first 8 seconds or something like that). Videos can be flagged has having bad words like fuck or something and auto age restrict them. Most youtube videos dont say swear words at the start to counter that, but you cant mute a chatlog, so they cover it.

If you compare this to his podcast on Impaulsive, the difference is that the hosts on this podcast aren't engaging with him in an interesting way and are acting like victims. If he isn't happy talking about being Mysophobic then why would you spend the first 10 minutes talking about that.

Howie gave so many hints to move to a different subject, they didn't and he obviously started to get annoyed and friction started to happen. L Hosts. don't invite a guest on, hound them for advice on a subject they don't want to talk about, then proceed to shoot down and argue the advice, THEN call HIM the bad guest for seeming annoyed???

Howie ruined the Kill Tony podcast one time I saw him on there, but this was honestly fine. These people are way too sensitive, and I think it's funny how Howie responded to the controversy. I have such severe OCD as well. It also germinates and contamination based. I also rarely leave the house and I have been on meds and in constant therapy. I’ve worn a mask and gloves but it’s not enough sometimes to stop my compulsive actions and obsessive thoughts. That’s the thing. It’s so irrational it makes it insane.

Ik x is being genuinely confused and I know a lot of people feel the same so let me help LOL many people wonder “why don’t you just wear a mask of wear gloves” or whatever - it’s a mental disorder. The hallmark of mental disorders is a lack of sense, in a way. Hypothetically yes, wearing gloves would make someone less exposed to germs. But in someone’s head, there are many more factors. Maybe it’s impractical, maybe it’s uncomfortable (sensory issues often come with neurodivergence), or most likely it just doesn’t make sense in their head. There isn’t really a good explanation. This can be true especially with ocd- someone with ocd might have mental compulsions such as being convinced that if they don’t open the door three times their family will face a horrible fate. To most people, this doesn’t work at all. There is no relation between these things. The person that is thinking these things cannot logically explain it either. But the compulsion is so strong that even though it’s obvious it isn’t accurate, it doesn’t matter. So, while suggesting hand sanitizer might seem obvious to most of us, there is no way for us to comprehend why it wouldn’t help the person afflicted.
When someone gives genuine advice and you answer "yea but..." to every single one, then you don't deserve any advice
