- In today Railway Journey, SimOnTrains is travelling to former Railway Stations built by the North Staffordshire Railway which are Longport (Staffordshire Least Used Station) Congleton and Macclesfield with a disused station slotted in on route as well.
Journey starts at Rugeley Town Station and travel to Rugeley Trent Valley, Stafford to board the train to the first location of Longport which has some interesting timetable changes and then visiting Congleton and Macclesfield because they were long overdue for a visit but also towards the end there is a locomotive that I haven't seen for a long while on the main line that I capture through Rugeley Trent Valley.

Fantastic video Simon!
Thanks Bruno
Brilliant video; looks like you had a great day. Some serious memories there as you passed through Congleton.
Thanks Simon
This was yet another very enjoyable Simontrains Railway Journeys and 3 brilliant stations you visited indeed and I know how you feel when a train gets bowled it’s happened to me most recently a few times however second time around it was able to pass the station without any bowlage it was fantastic that you managed to see and film the Class 31 passing Rugeley Trent Valley that you spotted at a fantastic locomotive indeed I continue to enjoy watching your Railway Journeys and I look forward to the next one until then my friend take care and stay safe
Thanks Simon
@@Sim0nTrains your welcome
Great vlog Simon. EMR abandoning there own station lol. At least LNWR took over with one good thing about the May timetable change running the Birmingham to Crewe via Stoke services via Tame Bridge Parkway as well. Just ashame Barlaston still Sits Mothballed! Congleton & Macclesfield are 2 stations I’ve stopped at on a train that I would love to do. Cross Country have delayed me a fair few times this year. Nice catch of the class 31 at Rugeley TV! I’ve never had some idiot tell me is it so hard to press a button. If he tried pressing it before it lit up I would of probably laughed at him when the door wouldn’t open!
Thanks Sam
Great video Simon. Nice to see the Colas Rail 56 at Longport now that is smoking and hellfire
Thanks Arnold
Brilliant video Cyber, good old Longport, EMR abandoning their own sation lol. Pitty about the delayed CrossCountry train and that idiot though. Also that was so lucky you managed to get the Class 31 and make your train back to Rugeley town. :)
Thanks Reuben
Kidsgrove station .offers so many choices (5 cities derby Nottingham Wolverhampton Birmingham stoke ) crewe Stafford .so glad it's there x
Kidsgrove is a good location for different destinations, it has services to Manchester as well so that 6 cities and at one point did had a London service as the Trent Valley Services went via Stoke-on-Trent before they changed it
There used to be a branch line that used to connect Lichfield city and Walsall stations years ago until closure of the beeching axe
South Staffordshire Line, already done a video visiting Hammerwich Disused Station,
@@Sim0nTrains yeah
brilliant video im loving all 3 stations and keep up the awesome work and im looking forward to the next journey
Thanks Michael
Brilliant video Simon! I've had that happen to me before. They think the doors open as soon as the train stops but don't realise the guard is the one that makes sure the doors are safe to open
Thanks PlatformEdge
Well, as it has been SimOnTrains another awesome Railway Journey. That is very surprising at Congleton where trains would reverse to get onto the West Coast Mainline. Man, that must have been scary for some of the passengers back in the day.
Nice bonus at the end with the class 31 speeding through, one of the UK's rarest diesel locos :-)
There was plenty of places that did weird movements like that being honest even at Terminus stations. Thanks Ricky
I like the look of Longport station, well looked after, nice to see the original buildings still standing. It's hard to believe it is the least used station in Staffordshire. Nice to see the class 31 too, thanks for sharing Simon. :)
Thanks Richard
Great video, nice to see Congleton’s link to the Biddulph Valley Line get talked about. Just to point out the junction was called Congleton Upper Junction not Congleton North Junction.
Thanks Lord Parma, that was my mistake as I wrote Congleton North Junction in my notes the night before filming, easy mistake to make.
LOL supercosta!! LOL I read that as don't eat your feet on the seats!!!
Thanks Ametrine
Very nice Ametrine lol
Did you leave your iron bru in the toilet Simon? 🤔🤣 Looks like you had fun. The 31 looked great.
I honestly didn't lol, Thanks Jacob
Nicely done Cyber! Shame about the idiot not knowing how to be patient... Also did you leave that Irn Bru in the toilet?
It's been a goose vlog and I look forward to the next one.

Looks like we are so close to the same subcount
We’re about 160 subscribers apart ;)
It good that you have a good subscriber count but honestly, it's a number I wouldn't worry about
And I thought you said there wasn't gonna be a vlog this week? :)
I did say that at first but I did post something 4 days ago for Patreon/Channel Members with the photos of the Northern Class 323s which talk about that it does say 'I may not have a vlog this week' but I did say a little further down in the post 'there will be a video for this Sunday' I honestly do apologise on the confusion that is my fault sorry
@@Sim0nTrains No worries, always happy to be surprised by more videos than expected :D
0:41 Jen are you watching
Her Costa senses were tingling lol
No, it's true, hanging out with Jen does cause you to drink a lot of Costa!
That good to hear, mind you it does taste lovely
Longport that is managed by East Midlands Railway and yes is the least used station in Staffordshire should be managed by London Northwestern Railway or Northern. And for LNR or Northern to allow some of their trains to stop at Longport.
Northern only have two trains that stop here. But at least it does have a hourly service.
