- I see a lot of people who struggle with the difficulty of the game, and that's mainly because crafting better weapons is almost essential in this game for a first-time experience. Though Ishin Kiwami made things a little easier by giving you new gear after almost every major boss fight, so you don't really need to craft stuff there, but still, I'm sure there are people who have questions about materials, seals, and a decent choice of gear. Hopefully this video helps answer some of those questions!

Also for hammers, the blacksmith shop sells bronze and iron ones, and the gambling den sells silver ones. Gold ones can be obtained as drops in the dungeons, and the kiwami ones seem to be very scarce. Outside of the two provided from the deluxe edition of the game, I only got one as a completion reward for something (might've been completing all dungeon battles)
Can confirm you get it by beating final dungeon mission

@@eneph1134 they actually arent that important, throughout the process of creating a strong weapon, the weapons you upgrade can get increased rarity with a bronze or gold hammer for instance. A green sword can turn into a gold sword next stage by using a silver hammer or gold hammer.
Here's another one. Take a Yaksha blade to the guy sitting next to the shrine near the cannon mini-game in Mukurogai and he'll turn it into a Skink Lizard, equip the Skink Lizard, talk to him again and he'll turn it into a Muramasa for free. All you need are the materials.
i took the chopstick gun to him, he asked me to come back with 2 eye of the dragons. haven't been able to do that just yet lol
Thank you very much, I just managed to upgrade peashooter to Cuckoo gun, as he is apparently the blacksmith for enchanted weapons. (Thou I don't think he uses hammers, so you can't upgrade weapons tier as with regular weapons...)
@@whywright2663 You can craft the base weapon with a kiwami hammer making it max tier before he upgrades it and it keeps the grade as far as I'm aware.

One tip for dungeon battles. Use a fire sword, a lot of enemy including the bosses are weak to fire.

Defeated Amon today and got his sword just to find out all the materials needed to upgrade it, now I wanna cry! This game is a roller-coaster of emotions

Same here, I feel like getting the materials to upgrade it is gonna take me forever. I haven't gotten a drop in like a day and half. 😭
Vortex is a solid choice for the pistol - insane rate of fire, good damage and a fair amount of slots.
I can complete the 100 man arena with it in about 4 minutes
The Scarecrow Chateau can also supply useful materials like, Crystals, Charming Dolls and Phoenix Feathers Though its only on the first clear, still it can give some rare materials.
Small tip if anyone is having trouble with the big boss enemies in the last chamber of the battle dungen. If you have a trooper card that shoots the massive laser, it can one-shot the big guys almost instantly.
Just want a leave a good tip here, if anyone wants to grind the arena efficiently, craft a sword with the poison seal, you can start every fight with a heat action to knock them on the ground and attack with your poison sword and when they get up they can only move very slowly toward you, you can then use special ammo in Gunman style to knock your opponent down again easily and hit them with your sword again to keep poisoning them, rinse and repeat, you can cheese every fight in the arena easily with this, except the Loaded Chamber tournament, that tournament sucks dick(especially on Ishin difficulty) since they can just shoot you.

A tip in terms of pistols if you just unlocked the blacksmith, go from the gun you can buy from the arms dealer in Murogakai and upgrade it to the version that has very increased fire rate. If you do, you have a machine gun for an affordable price early on if you have a fast trigger finger

I have the original Ishin, it's a pretty good game but damn the grind is crazy in this game. Thank God the other Yakuza games aren't as grindy.
I used the blacksmith for some seals, but its super tedious. Its not pure rng, as you can save, craft 3 things, reload and craft the same 3 things and get the exact same result btw.
For my gear I went with the breastplate that allows you to block bullets, the bracers that allow you to block blades and then I was aiming for the war god talisman from Bob (do all heat actions) until I can be bothered to craft it. For the gun I'm using the Golden Gun and doing just fine. Currently using the wind element sword from the newsletter signup thing, but will likely craft Blade of the Shogun at some point unless the OniMaru is better.

@devillion7 I think LAD here is different from the original. I defeated Amon and got the worn magical blade from him and the upgrade to it was already unlocked in the blacksmith originally. In the RGG ishin you had to kill 100 enemies and it would upgrade but in LAD Ishin it looks like the only way to upgrade that blade is through smithing (the cost is insane though, 20 eyes of the dragons, around 400 ryo etc)

yeah I'm running into trouble when I want specific seals too. Like I want a bunch of the Brawler Damage ones for my armor to have big numbers in brawler, but trying to look for specific spheres is kinda all RNG.

Personally, I wouldn’t worry about picking a sword that has the highest base damage, as there is a seal in the game that increases your attack based on how much Virtue you have. Idk how rare that drop is, but I’ve only gotten one and used the Kiwami seals to upgrade it to gold. For reference I have 260k Virtue and with the Blade of the Shogun the seal adds about 300+ damage. I would just pick a sword that has a high amount of enhancement slots, and that looks cool to you.
For guns, I personally picked the Vortex since it has high damage, but also is the only gun to have the seal that “Greatly” increases fire rate. Slap on a double shot seal and the dps is probably the highest you’ll get. Using that gun makes the 100 man arena battle a joke, and you’ll be clearing it in under 4 minutes. You might get carpal tunnel from button mashing light attack though
Ya the extra slot on dragon hawk wouldn't make up for the different attack speed, it was too noticeable

You need 20 Aquamarines, and then trade those aquamarines with one of the traders in Willaim Bradleys(your gun master) training area, one will give you the worn pistol needed to make the dragon hawk, it will be the same guy who gave you "Book of revelations: Gust"
But yeah, getting 20 aquamarines will be a grind, your best method would be grinding in the arena and trading points for them, I'm still in the middle of doing that now.
And what about elemental swords? Like with lightning, wind or fire?
Lightning can stun enemies and wind can throw them away.
How do you get good seals
For pretty much most of the base equipment, am I not supposed to be able to craft it? I see it's not craftable at Kurogane Smithing. Am I supposed to visit somewhere else to make some of the base items or you just have to acquire them through other means?
Yeah so for some of the base items, you get them from arms dealers. There's one near the blacksmith and there's another in Mukurogai.
How do you get a cannon as a weapon?

Fun thing about the bonus seals you can get while crafting is you can sometimes get insanely lucky, I got a third 20% chance to shoot two bullets on a double flash just crafting it at the highest rarity. For seals that you can apply best way I've found is disarming Golden Sneaks and running the weapon specialized dungeons.
Yepp got lucky when crafting the thunder katana. So got a bonus seal with 50% more elemental dmg so now I stunlock enemies faster.
What do you mean with "disarming" ? And "specialized dungeons"? I currently have 22 /45 seals, what exactly do I need to do for completion?
Do I just need to "get" them, aka having an enemy (mostly the Sneaks dropping them) drop them? Or do I actually need to APPLY them to a sword?
I mostly spend my time now in the god damn smithing of equipment. Now, I am only missing the last but for gods sake worst part of equiment which is the dream dragon sword which needs 20 of dragon eyes/whiskers/ tails or whatever. It's making me want to kill myself.
So what do i need to do to get all the seals? I am seriously done with the game after 115 hours, of which probably at least 30 have been wasted by crafting useless equipment that I do not need anyway.
@@richardfreutel5002 think he means that sword skill where you disarm the enemies and pick up their wespon. On xbox you hold rb and time it with b when the enemies attack and if you got weapon with blue or higher grade you got the chance of disarming your enemies. Need to unlock the skill with the wilddancer/sword trainer.
@@richardfreutel5002 ohh what he means by specialized dungeons is when you run any of the dungeons check the materials listing and see what weapons and materials are dropping for that dungeon. Best materials and weapons drop is spread throughout the Sanada dungeons
@@mrthaimaster Also the ones that are just Gunman, Swordsman, Spearsman and Strongarm in Sanada. I've found they have a higher droprate for weapons but can't say for certain.

Great question! So there's 4 kinds of seal ranks to my knowledge.
Bronze, first tier and you can tell by the circle's color.
Silver
Gold (max for seals you put onto a weapon)
Built-in (fancy circle with 4 lines around it, these deals can't be obtained from dismantling)
You should make a guide on the trooper card system...
One thing I want to know. Where is the second blacksmith located? From what I researched, there are two.
It's a dude chilling next to the river in Mukurogai, near where the cannon bloke is. Normally if you speak to him all he says is "...", unless you have the "right" gear equiped. A comment by D00MGUY455 in this video gives you an example of what you can have equiped to get him to say something other than "..." (Yaksha blade)
Additionally can you make a guide on how to find troopers when they leave as well 😂

You can get gold hammers by doing prize ticket draws, once you do it enough it'll be a reward you can get, and buying a lot of things from stores can you give you bunch of prize tickets. Slightly more reliable method than dungeon farming I found.
You can get a lot of tickets by buying cheap swords to level up blacksmith(if you haven't done it yet) or buying food to restore hp

During my playthrough, I wanted to get the Dragon Hawk. However, that grind was absolutely insane. To get 5 of those dragon fangs I had to rerun some stages that dropped it for maybe 3+ hours. Not to mention the aquamarines required to get the gun, which I just went to the arena so I can get those consistently.
I can’t ever imagine trying to get that last sword, but whoever does, I wish you the best of luck.
To get Last of the Dragons, you'll need to get finish all substories and battle dungeons, and then play the last battle dungeon again. There, you'll meet the ancestor of a certain sunglasses-wearing man.
Not to mention the 20 Aquamarines to trade for the Rusty Pistol to then upgrade into the Dragon Hawk.

There's a guy in Mukurogai who has cling clang above his head. If you have the correct weapon equipped talk to him. He's near the cannon training. If you need further help please ask

@@bonkgameing Yeah, they don't label which weapons are enchanted for whatever reason, you have to go to the blacksmith and click on each weapon and it will tell you "Enchanted weapons cannot be crafted at the blacksmith" it's pretty annoying.
Bruh that giant samurai in the final chapter is tougher than the all three four bosses. I ended up coming here cuz 800 dmg katana isn't cutting it (lol)
I'm sorry can you make a video or explain the elemental effects, electrical, fire and poison are self explanatory but what does light and wind do?
Light dazes enemies(IMO pretty bad) and wind knocks down enemies.

Life steal -> Self explanatory
Wind -> has a chance to knock enemies back a couple feet (certain enemies are immune, like the arena bosses who wield the hoe and sledgehammer)"
@@devilleon7 did poison in this games always proced only on standing enemies? They recive no poison damage while on the ground...
5:35 😅 It took me a couple hours, but I managed to end up with a whooping *330% virtue gain multiplier* Virtuous Hood. Doing a full inventory Platinum Plate sale at Ebisu nets you 60k virtue per run.
It's 330% and not 120% as one would expect from decking out the Virtuous Hood with 4 golden virtue seals because the 4 30% values are *multiplicative* not additive. Kind of a pain to craft but it really minimizes the time it takes to farm virtue afterwards since it affects EVERYTHING.
Also, FYI:
- The chance for crafting to spawn an extra seal is NOT randomized per craft but runs on some kind of predetermined table. This means reloading a save will ALWAYS net you the same result. Reloading is still valuable though to find out which attempt will end up giving an extra seal.
- The predetermined table metioned above THANKFULLY is agnostic of what you craft, meaning you can craft cheap items like the Handy Blades to advance the list and craft what you actually want in the "turn" where you'd get a double seal.
- VERY IMPORTANT: the quality and chance of the extra seal does NOT depend on the tier of the hammer. This means as long as an Iron hammer would allow an extra empty seal (to be hopefully filled with the extra spawn) there is no benefit to using better ones.
- Finally, and this honestly sucks and should be patched (along with providing this info on the tutorial somehow), dissassembling the crafted item which has the extra seal we want seems to always grant you the worst version of the seal (bronze) regardless of what quality it was before being dissassembled. So I basically had to craft 6 extra Virtuous Hoods beside the one I crafted first with 2 golden seals and then savescum to avoid failing the seal fusion to gold.

How are you farming the Virtue Seals?
@@Beaudashus make Virtuous Hoods with an extra (empty) slot and use the method to get a duplicate Virtue seal that you'll get from dissassembling them. Thing is I've had the hoods give Brawler seals as well, so gotta get lucky not only so it does produce an extra seal on craft but it also has to produce the seal you want. Ngl this crafting system is pain and borderline cancer once you factor in how expensive it is WITH chicken race savescumming AND knowledge of the underlying mechanic the game never actually explains. One of if not the worst part of this game.

Nope, they removed the mechanic to do that from the remake for whatever fucking reason.

Randomly got 2 of that from the dungeon. Crafting it is easier tho. Materials are not that hard to obtain if you do the dungeon regularly

Once it runs out, proc it again, the poison CAN kill enemies, it wont just leave them at 1 hp.

Wind -> I'm not sure tbh I haven't crafted a wind weapon yet.
Light has a chance to stun enemies (dizzy), rust deals extra damage to armor, electricity paralyzes enemies, fire burns causing enemies affected to roll on the floor, poison will eventually drain an enemy of their hp, wind has a chance to knock enemies back a couple feet (certain enemies are immune, like the arena bosses who wield the hoe and sledgehammer) and i believe the element that drains hp and heals you is called yokai for whatever reason.

Light also works on bosses and can be used to make some pretty insane combo strings when it works

You can't I think you used to be able to do that in the original, but they removed the option to do that for whatever reason, so the smithing menu showing you can get a legendary golden gun is a lie.

Hey Leon is it just me or is the Brawler style got nerfed the damage is so low.
I kinda felt that way too. Unfortunately, it’s the best way to defeat Majima in the second phase because apparently he drank way too much sake that he start bleeding you with his auto-locked stupid grand slam.
I think the addition of seals made it so that you might need to add brawler damage seals to equipment to make it better. Though I also noticed that (without Brawler seals) limit breaking Brawler after it gets to 25 and getting the damage upgrades for it after that makes it much more viable too.
@@devilleon7 Funny enough, the Brawler’s binding has that by default.
Honestly, Swordsman style feels the weakest to me. Bosses really like to combo break you when using this one specifically.
@@harlannguyen4048 Really? To me the Gunman style is the worst against bosses. They block your shots all the time. At least if you know what you are doing with the Swordman style, you can get good hits on them. I use Swordsman for most bosses, Wild Dancer for the faster ones, and Brawler for Majima specifically (since his 2nd phase is pure utter bullshit). I only use Gunman if I can get a few hits in, otherwise don’t bother. Keep in mind that enemies are way more aggressive here than the original, so you can do the math.

I'm assuming you're asking for the training with Ginryu, right? If you don't already have one, you can craft one at the blacksmith.

Honestly, I am not a big fan of the crafting system. It seems very expensive and inconvenient to use during the main story (especially if you just want to progress the story). And the blacksmith levels up very slowly too.
I almost never used it and got by with the swords you earn at the end of the chapters. You don't do a lot of damage but you can get by.
same, there's no way I can keep up with all the extras in this game. apart from the main storyline. 😢
sorta similar to the other yakuza games, the only side story I've completed between all the games was the business one in like a dragon
My only complaint with crafting beyond the scarcity of kiwami hammers is that the really powerful weapons are kinda ugly looking

I absolutely can see how anybody can do a lot of these moves that involve you having to hit a button right before an enemy attacks you! There is absolutely no tell what so ever! Most games give you at least a chance with a mechanic like making the enemy flash or something right b4 they attack so you know when to hit the button. But this does not believe in that in the tiniest way what so ever!! I can not ever hit the button for a lot of these kind of moves ever in time.. I do not in the littlest amount what so ever see how anybody can know when to hit these buttons in time! You have to be a freaking pro gamer! And if you come at me with stuff like, doh well that sounds like lack of skill. Sounds like it's a you problem" I have nothing to say to you because when you say that your just trying to fish for praising. You want to feel special. It's a psychological trait. A lot of people say that when they can't do it either just to troll.. I'm not new to games and I'm very quick with quick timed events but this is ridiculous!! If you can really do it then you have got to be a pro gamer. There is no time nothing! It's not real life it's a video game so there needs to be somewhat of a telegraph to the attacks!! The game is very fun but man there are a lot of bad annoying little things with the game.. Not to mention freaking seals that only say it increases the attacks by 1 or 2%! Seriously?! 😂😂 one freaking percent is nothing!! On top of that to fuse it to a weapon it costs arm and a leg!! Really? Anyway like I said I love the game! I love the beat em up combat. But I truly with all my heart do not see how anybody can hit these buttons right before an attack when you have no way of knowing when the attack is coming.. No twitch no jump no flashing nothing!! You truly have to be a pro gamer to be able to do that and I mean a pro gamer that does nothing but video games allll the time.. I dunno maybe it is just me.. But I just don't see how you are supposed to be able to do that in time.. It's ridiculous.. Anyway cheers 🥂🍻! All I see is for seals are sphere seals that are for attack only 2% .. That isn't a lot and it cost 4ryo to install one?! At 2% is this game kidding?!
Plus not to mention I'm almost half way through the game and still can't upgrade or make anything due to lack of material.. At that rate I'm going to finish the game with just 3new katanas and same arm guard. 😒 what ever.. Guess I'm missing a lot in this one yet I have played almost all Yakuza games..

Where is the dungeon on the map?
At the Shinsengumi HQ in Mibu. It's a place you frequent in the story, if you haven't unlocked the dungeon missions yet, you will with the story eventually around chapter 5-7

There's definitely a looooot of grinding if you want to get some cool stuff
