You're doing a great job by showing places where tourists generally don't go, should keep this same strategy. Since you're in the South, you should try the Rio Grande do Sul state, and maybe the countryside life. Great job!

What makes the water change color is a combination of the direction of the wind, ties and the Sun. For example the canal that you were looks really beautiful when the wind is blowing south. It makes the water look like Esmeralda specially in Fortaleza da Barra.
Great , you should go to Balneario Camboriú , and Blumenau ( german city )is close by . Its beautiful there Rio is different vibe , i have been in Rio many times . Personally Rio will surprise you guys.
Fico feliz em saber que vocês estão desfrutando do local e do povo hospitaleiro. Floripa realmente é um encanto. Sempre que posso, vou atrás desses lugares lindos. Preciso conhecer a ilha do campeche.
Hi Ivana and Steve, Great video! As you are staying at Barra da Lagoa don't miss the opportunity of going to Praia Mole and Galheta. They are right next from where you are. You can even get there through a trail. One hour walk approximately. Leave early in the morning as sun is blasting here in Floripa these days. Alternatively, you can also get there by bus or by uber. No longer than a 10 min ride. Enjoy Floripa! Ps. Joaquina is the beach where you can do sand surfing. And again, it's not far from where you are staying. I would rather go there by uber. But if you decide to go by bus be aware that you will have to change buses half way through.
By the way, the trail to Galheta and Praia Mole is actually the same one you took to get to that guy doing high-line... Perhaps I should warn you guys that Galheta by law is an optional clothing beach.
You guys have picked a winner here. Nice beautiful place away from the hustle bustle of city life and omg salivating just watching you downed all the seafood. So envious🤪
Please guuys, before you leave Brazil you have to visit some beach in the Northeast: Bahia, Maceió... We have so many options just choose one, be enchated and have fun!
You guys not only gotta come to the City of Rio, but also visit another amazing cities in the state such as Cabo Frio, Arraial do Cabo,, Búzios, Saquarema (Surf national capital), Petrópolis, Teresópolis, Angra dos Reis/Ilha Grande. I would advise you guys to start from Paraty, which is close to São Paulo state, then go up till the city of Rio.
@@joseluciocorrea1866 Those cities I've mentioned are as safe as any city in Santa Catarina despite the capital (City of Rio). Not sure if the food is better. And friendlier people? Definitely not sure about that.
@@vanessaguimaraes01 Yeah, nothing special with one of the most unique and beautiful cities around the world. The only comparable city would be Cape Town in South Africa.
You need to visit Rio, is really beautiful, but, please, you must go to Bahia. For me is the best state here in Brazil. Not just Salvador, but others small places with incredible beaches, like Barra Grande, Moreré (the best place in the world) and Caraiva. Caraíva is nice because from there you can go to visit other beaches, like Espelho and Corumbau. And clapping warns parents that a lost child has been found. then the parents can follow the line of claps until the child.
I'm from the northeast of Brazil but I live in Rio for over a decade now so I think I have a differente perspective about this place. Living here is not easy, especially for poor people. The city is dangerous and expensive. But I would say that although we do have security concerns, especially at the poor areas of Rio, I think this security problem is kinda overrated because Rio is such a popular place. There are a lot of cities in Brazil just as dangerous or even more dangerous than Rio but they don't get as much attention because they are not very touristic places. So, besides these problems, Rio is totally worth the visit. Cariocas are really fun, friendly and warm people (they're brazilians too hahaha). We do have some of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. There are a zillion of things to do here: trails, hiking, museums, historic places, botecos, samba schools etc. So I think you guys will love it. If you liked São Paulo, Rio will be definetely fine hahahaha.
You two just look so happy in Brazil, specially Ivana. I think this is you place LOL. Glad you two are having so much fun. It shows in your videos. They're just shinning.
If you have arrived in Rio, I recommend that you go to the city of Arraial do Cabo which is in the state of Rio and has perhaps the most beautiful beaches in Brazil, it is known as the "Brazilian Caribbean"
Amazing video guys!!! Just a warning for you, be careful when you have your hands dirty with lemon juice, if you come into contact with the sun your skin can suffer some burns, and we don't want that to happen to you!! 🤪 so, you know, wash your hands with water before going to the sun! Hugs!
You two are incredible! I don't know Floripa but after watching this video I will definitely plan my trip. Take care and keep enjoying this beautiful trip. Big hugs.

I love the ending! Ivana is really great. TIP: Make a video about your history (what did you guys used to do before the channel, how you met, how many countries have you travelled...) Make a Q&A video!
Sou manézinho da ilha e moro aqui a 66 anos, conheço cada lugar de Santa Catarina e já acampei em todas as praias. Gosto das postagens de vocês muito legal.
Shoutout to my hometown of Toronto!! As Ivana and I were filming this vlog, they received more than 30 cm of snow in one day!! Wonder if any Brazilians would prefer that over 30 degree beaches 🙄
Steve is an amazing observer, he really gets whats is going on. In almost all their videos he makes a perfect assumption about Brazil... Like what he said about homegrown local sports... this is so true... many olympic athletes were made on streets with little to zero support, either public or private.... and also... did you realize that soccer, samba and caipirinha were not on your top 3 things in think of Brazil... Thats amazing. Ivana, your energy is the best!!! I really love you guys, I'm already feeling sad that one day you will leave the country...
Rio is more for tourists from outside Brazil even, those who already live here prefer other places. First that things there are too expensive, second that it will be more expensive if you don't have a Carioca accent, the people there think that we are muggles and charge their eyes from their faces in things.
do a favour to yourselves and go to Lagoinha do Leste, it is the single most beautiful landscape here in the island. Its a 2 and a half hour hike from Matadeiro beach to Lagoinha do Leste, but its TOTALLY worth it.
I'm from Minas Gerais, BH, and I've been living in Floripa since 2019 in Barra da Lagoa. I love this place. It is really magical. It is important to say that here there is a great network of mutual cooperation for environmental preservation and sustainable development. Glad to see them happy, my son follows their adventures around the world. Beijos pra vocês.
You should go to Foz do Iguaçu. The city has the iguassu falls which is the largest waterfalls complex in the world by number of falls, it also has the bird park and itaipu. Also as a change of pace you can go to the neighbouring countries (Argentina and Paraguay). Also Foz do Iguaçu is very small so once you complete the main visiting places (itaipu, bird park and the falls) there is not much to do so you wont stay there forever lol. I lived there for 20+ years and now I live in Edmonton gotta love the -40 am I right?
As a carioca I should say Floripa looks amazing... It would be easy for me to live there. Better than Porto Alegre and Curitiba, I think. I mean, I don't like cities without beaches. But I love Rio so much, so... Rio. of course. 50% because of Rio's culture (samba, carnaval, funk, the people... I love it)
I live in Florianópolis. Believe me, you've only seen a small part of the magic of this island. There's still a lot of travel to do. Come back often and welcome.
Without even finishing the video, I just have to say, the beach restaurants in Brazil are INCREDIBLE!! I miss it so much, the beaches in California are so incredibly boring in comparison. I miss Brasil, can’t wait to go back to my home country!! PS: yes, we love French fries lol 😂
Don't come back without visiting Balneário Camboriú and the interpraias route, and beaches in the north of the state. It is very close to Floripa and you will discover another style of beach. Much better than Rio de Janeiro
People start clapping at the beach when a kid is missing so that it is easier for their parents to find them haha Floripa is great but the vibe in Rio is also wonderful, Enjoy your trip
I would never trade Floripa for Rio. Floripa is a piece of paradise on earth, where people respect nature and learn to live with it. Friends visit Balneário Camboriú, the Brazilian Dubai, a vibrant city with beautiful beaches! 🏖🏝⛵️🏄♂️🍹
You guys should go to lagoinha do leste. The most beautiful beach in florianopolis. Its an amazing hike to get there. No constructions in the beach, just nature. Completely 100% preserved beach
guys you should try to visit matadeiro, armação e ilha do campeche. I lived in floripa for 5 years and these are my favorite places. the beaches armação e matadeiro are really beautiful. they are close to each other. Armação you can see de fishman boats and matadeiro is a beatiful beach when you can spend your day in nature. the water isn't warm like the other beaches 'cause is in the south of island but still amazing. When you took the road to these beaches there is a old belvedere in morro das pedras where you can watch whales at certain times of the year and the view it's marvellous.

Apenas tentando traduzir algumas destas idéias pendentes nos limites do entretenimento cotidiano. Paz e luz, companheiro.
At the end of the video Ivana was funny af lol
Safe, beautiful and civilised, south of the Equator there is no better city than Floripa: "The Island of Magic". Impossible not to love her.
Its beautiful there
Rio is different vibe , i have been in Rio many times . Personally Rio will surprise you guys.
not "german city".. there is no 'german city" in Brazil... all of them are BRAZILIAN CITIES.
@@jorgerio6888 e a forma de expressão , mas preciso concordar que não coloquei bem as palavras
Ivana has definitely a brazilian soul!
I have a crush in a couple ❤️
Fico feliz em saber que vocês estão desfrutando do local e do povo hospitaleiro. Floripa realmente é um encanto. Sempre que posso, vou atrás desses lugares lindos. Preciso conhecer a ilha do campeche.
@vascaino Do Japão estais a falar besteira. Não se juga uma população inteira por causa de alguns marginais, coisa que se vê em todo o mundo.
@vascaino Do Japão você deixa a intender que se uma pessoa dormir na rua em Florianópolis será queimada.
It is impossible not to fall in love with Brazil. You are choosing great places to visit...enjoy
A gente procura uma opinião de um estrangeiro sobre o Brasil, para ver como estamos de imagem lá fora, mas só há brasileiros comentando.
Ai fode tudo, seleciono pelos nomes não brazucados
Lol
I'm an American planning on visiting soon
@@DOPEdwarf você deve ser o tim rsrsrs
You guys have to pass through Paraty. It's between Rio and São Paulo, the beaches in that region are so so beautiful
Hi Ivana and Steve,
Great video!
Thanks for this comment! Very helpful
By the way, the trail to Galheta and Praia Mole is actually the same one you took to get to that guy doing high-line...
Perhaps I should warn you guys that Galheta by law is an optional clothing beach.
@@JetLagWarriors just an fyi, Galheta is a nudst beach lmao, not obligatory but I wouldn't plan on getting video material
You guys have picked a winner here. Nice beautiful place away from the hustle bustle of city life and omg salivating just watching you downed all the seafood. So envious🤪
While you’re enjoying nice warm weather in summertime, your hometown Toronto is under a lot of snow in winter storms.
I'm Brazilian and I'm loving your videos 😍😍
Great video! It is not beans, it’s “pirão”, made with cassava flour and fish. It’s very usual to have this side dish in a fish restaurant.
In fact not only fish. You can do pirao with a variety of broth, but fish is the most common.
Please guuys, before you leave Brazil you have to visit some beach in the Northeast: Bahia, Maceió... We have so many options just choose one, be enchated and have fun!
North East not WEST
You guys not only gotta come to the City of Rio, but also visit another amazing cities in the state such as Cabo Frio, Arraial do Cabo,, Búzios, Saquarema (Surf national capital), Petrópolis, Teresópolis, Angra dos Reis/Ilha Grande. I would advise you guys to start from Paraty, which is close to São Paulo state, then go up till the city of Rio.
They should stay more in Santa Catarina, its safer, hassle free, better food and friendlier people!
@@joseluciocorrea1866 kkkkkkkkkkkkk
@@joseluciocorrea1866 Those cities I've mentioned are as safe as any city in Santa Catarina despite the capital (City of Rio). Not sure if the food is better. And friendlier people? Definitely not sure about that.
@@vanessaguimaraes01 Yeah, nothing special with one of the most unique and beautiful cities around the world. The only comparable city would be Cape Town in South Africa.
@@mt34578 hahahahahaha, there are countless places on the northeast coast a thousand times more beautiful and even safer than Rio de Janeiro.
I totally agree with Marcos' comment above.
You two just look so happy in Brazil, specially Ivana. I think this is you place LOL. Glad you two are having so much fun. It shows in your videos. They're just shinning.
You are absolutely right. We are really loving Brazil. Big thanks to all the Brazilians who have welcomed us so kindly! Included yourself :)
If you have arrived in Rio, I recommend that you go to the city of Arraial do Cabo which is in the state of Rio and has perhaps the most beautiful beaches in Brazil, it is known as the "Brazilian Caribbean"
É melhor msm aqui na capital fica muito cheio no verão eles deveriam ir pra Paraty tmb
Up
Exactly, I’ve been telling this here all the time
half of the coastal cities in brazil have that nickname lol
Lime on hands can leave sun burn!! Be careful..
And when kids are lost, people clap hands, so the parents can spot them
You really, REALLY should visit Chapada Diamantina in Bahia. Probably one of the 3 best places in Brazil. It's just magical and transcendental.
Amazing video guys!!!
Just a warning for you, be careful when you have your hands dirty with lemon juice, if you come into contact with the sun your skin can suffer some burns, and we don't want that to happen to you!! 🤪
so, you know, wash your hands with water before going to the sun! Hugs!
Yeap, I thought about that as well, Thiago!!
It’s official. I can’t stop watching your videos lol
You two are incredible! I don't know Floripa but after watching this video I will definitely plan my trip. Take care and keep enjoying this beautiful trip. Big hugs.
we brazilians didnt resist to send big hugs ands kisses
I love the ending! Ivana is really great.
TIP: Make a video about your history (what did you guys used to do before the channel, how you met, how many countries have you travelled...) Make a Q&A video!

Thank you :D
Happy to see Steve enjoying sea food and Ivana chillin with the capirinha, great beach vibes guys 🔥🔥
Floripa is really the island of magic!!!
Have fun In Brazil ! Brazil loves tourists.
I hope you guys go to the nordeste of Brazil, you will love it!
Steve eating a seafood feast! Look at you! You are both definitely becoming Brazilian! Nice to see you enjoying your time! Have fun, guys! 🙂
And yesterday we recieved 14" of snow....most since 1993
Shoutout to my hometown of Toronto!!
Ivana is looking radiant in Floripa, I think she's falling in love with the city.
Impressionante. O Brasil é único mesmo. Obrigado pelo vídeo.
You must to visit too, Curitiba-PR(Paraná Capital city) and Foz do Iguaçu-PR, home of the Cataratas do Iguaçu( Iguasu Falls)
Very beautifull and nice of your vimeo.... Congratulations!😍🤩🥰👏👏👏👏💖
Rio is more for tourists from outside Brazil even, those who already live here prefer other places.
First that things there are too expensive, second that it will be more expensive if you don't have a Carioca accent, the people there think that we are muggles and charge their eyes from their faces in things.
I dont agree with you , i am brazilian and i love visit Rio . People are very open and nice
Rio is for foreigners
do a favour to yourselves and go to Lagoinha do Leste, it is the single most beautiful landscape here in the island. Its a 2 and a half hour hike from Matadeiro beach to Lagoinha do Leste, but its TOTALLY worth it.
Definitely feeling the good vibes!! Your energy and enthusiasm are contagious!! Keep safe, healthy and happy.
I'm Brazilian and don't know Florianópolis yet. I really want to visit It!
A Ivana é tão fofa ☺️
I see how happy you are in my country, it's gratifying!
Thanks for this wonderful video.
I live here in Florianópolis, welcome!!! 🤩
Florianópolis OR Rio de Janeiro? 🤔Just curious about your opinion😁
Floripa
P.s: Camboriú 😁😁
As a carioca I should say Floripa looks amazing...
It would be easy for me to live there. Better than Porto Alegre and Curitiba, I think. I mean, I don't like cities without beaches.
But I love Rio so much, so... Rio. of course.
50% because of Rio's culture (samba, carnaval, funk, the people... I love it)
Two places for two types of people :D
ps.: people were clapping hands because some kid was lost, it is to help to find the parents
Overall Floripa is better for me, safer, less crowded and also has a beautiful landscape.
I live in Florianópolis. Believe me, you've only seen a small part of the magic of this island. There's still a lot of travel to do. Come back often and welcome.
Fantastic. That is a yes for Brazil! Thank you for your video.
You guys are so cute, i hope you all always come back to brazil in future 🥰
Brasil é perfeito 🇧🇷
Venham mais vezes!
People start clapping at the beach when a kid is missing so that it is easier for their parents to find them haha Floripa is great but the vibe in Rio is also wonderful, Enjoy your trip
haha Ivana bem felizona.. caipirinhas´s effect.. Super Brazilian love it
Clapping is to indicate that there is a lost child around
man i love yalls. brazil videos
i happy to see that you like Brazil. I love Canada ... been there many times... i m from Sao Paulo but i live in Norway
Enfim Sta Catarina, amo o Sul do Brasil, lugares lindos e o povo receptivos. Muito bom.
I would never trade Floripa for Rio. Floripa is a piece of paradise on earth, where people respect nature and learn to live with it. The island of magic is magical, whoever sets foot in this incredible place always wants to come back.
Owwwww you both are Falling in love with The city 🥰 yes, this is The mágic. Ivana is really brasilian, and Stevie u r enjoyn seafoods very well ! U have good Luck by those sunnydays. Its not raining so long.
Eu moro em Florianópolis-SC, cai de paraquedas no seu canal e amei seu conteúdo, um brasileiro te seguindo kkkkkk
Brazil is simply awesome… Enjoy!
Legal. Gostei. Estão felizes.
