- In this Cities Skylines 2 video, i design a University Campus with Student dorms, sportsfields and good public transit access. It will be surrounded by a Streetcar suburb and single family homes. See how it turned out!

education thought: too many people abandon their homes because the elementary school is more than 2 feet walking distance away

Great build it looks very good and realistic! But I hope that we get a Campus DLC like in Cities Skylines 1 to build even bigger and more dense University areas.

Streetcar suburbs are nice and I like to see more of them. especially Riverdale in Toronto is my favorite.

This is amazing, how you build this impossible residential areas, which are so cozy and at the same time realistic that you want to live in it
i mean if the idea is to go for a harvard style campus (or de la salle where im from) then sure go ahead with a huge open area campus, but i personally prefer island campuses. where the campus itself behaves like its own independent citystate and its own government structure separate from the rest of the map. mainly because every city i design is with the mindset that manhattan was originally built around, which is how effectively the local government can contain an outbreak within the city or conversely how effectively the city can isolate itself from the outside world. so i built my cities with the idea that it could theoretically be fortified against a zombie apocalypse with minimal effort.

(not entirely sure but:) the need to place the elementary school near a high density area (just so that the cims are satisfied) is very hard to make look good. i mean its a "smaller" building and looks strange between all the medium/high density buildings so you have to find a good spot in order to make it look good. often this spot is far away from a downtown area which annoys me because then the cims are not entirely happy in downtown

I'm just thinking, if you designate the university area as a gated community, will the houses only be accommodated by students? Is universities classified as working places for students?
Just wondering if we can actually turn those housings into actual dorms.

I’m not a fan of CS2 schools. No cims spawn there, and I often have to plan to have it centrally located and build my city around it. Plus, industrial efficiency depends on higher education too early in the game.
Could you please increase the game resolution, or video bitrate or something idk, for those sweeping cinematic shots? In the building phase it looks completely fine, but then during those moving shots it looks blurry and it's bad (watch 18:31 until the end).

I cutted that out because the pond dried put again😩😂
So it doesn’t worked but i connected the ocean to the „hole“ and tried to fill it in

Yeah, I had heard ponds dry up if not tied to a water node, its a shame, that pond looked beautiful and I wish we could keep them.
Yea seems like it doesn't work lol because I tried creating small river canals around my city by flooding them, they just kept flooding my city and when I close the flooding entrance it just dries up

Ofc video had to be ruined by cringe music, why so many csl people do this? Game is entertaining enough if you like it, shitty music wont get you more views, probably the opposite if i had to bet, its so annoying being forced to listen to something you didnt ask for id rather just go leave
Looks good! Although it is kind of slow for a Speed build. Would definitely recommend putting up the speed a little bit for a slightly shorter video.
