What are the differences between Tones and Pitch Accents(Ex. Swedish language which has pitch accents but It's not been classified as a tonal language)???
Intonation refers to the change of pitch throughout an utterance. There are multiple systems to analyze this change. One of them divides the possible international phenomena that change this pitch into two basic ones: pitch accents and phrase tones. It is important to understand that each of these phenomena affects a particular word within the utterance and thereby alters pitch contour.
