Thank you for sharing this book, my parents grew up in the Black Country in the 50s and 60s, I'm going to order a couple of copies, one for me and one for them! ❤
My grandfather wrote a wonderful diary during the second world war. He remained in Guernsey which Was occupied by the Germans whilst his wife and young family were evacuated to England before the Germans landed every entry was like a love letter to my grandmother who he never knew if he would meet again
My maternal granny (Russian, born in 1935) wrote down her memoir (spanning from childhood to divorce) a couple of years back, it's not publishable, but I have to type it now and make a nice binding and bring it to her and a copy for my uncle when I next visit in a year or so (I live far away in Slovenia). So I absolutely understand how touching and precious such texts are. I was a little disappointed she left out her most intriguing mystery revelation, who her biological mother was, although she revealed this to us in person, somehow she said, she was not ready to do it in a WRITTEN form due to some sense of indecency or immodesty, although she does start her memories by stating she was a "bastard". Yes, her manuscript is my most precious family possession. ❤
What a wonderfully meaningful book for you and your family! Love that this is your non-fiction November book of the month. I can't believe your sons are not watching your videos. To quote Simon, "Rude!" 🤣
