When I went natural I, too, came to RUclips for guidance. There was so much conflicting information on here about how to care for Type 4 hair that it became discouraging. I eventually went back into a relaxer. I'm natural again as of March 2019, and it's much easier to care for my Type 4 hair this time around. Why? Because I know what my hair likes and one of those things is grease, just like it liked it when I was growing up. My hair is thriving, it's not falling out, and I don't have cancer like some of the people on here said would happen if grease was used. If that was true, we all would have died as children.
We were using hair grease when we did not have so many choices in hair care products, now that we have countless of products grease is labeled as being bad smh..
The petroleum in hair grease is the same petroluem in vaseline. Vaseline has been used for a long time to heal cracks and breaks in the skin. So there is no wonder it works so well on our hair
I’ve been natural for about 6 years. My hair is 4c @ was extremely dry & brittle. I started searching for ways to grow & fix my hair. The naturals on RUclips said no grease. I tried the oils & made my hair wayyy worse and began having traction alopecia ! I finally said nope, going back to grease. So it’s now finally starting to thicken back up, my edges are growing back & my thin/ bald spots are starting to fill in. I’m sticking with old school. Your hair is beautiful btw! #HAIRGOALS 😍
I use hair grease when I’m protective styling. I think people have to understand that grease is use to help keep moisture in and to prevent shedding and dryness you have to clarify your hair on a weekly or some biweekly base and to keep their regimen consistent but anyway grease never cause my hair any harm and I love grease and tfs ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful hair and i love your skincolor ma'am ,God bless you I totally aggre all these youtubers have made me spend so much money on oils that did nothing for my hair while hairgrease and pink lusters has been my oldschool products i am using them again this year may it grow and glow like yours hahaha Amen and Amen
I went back to grease too. My edges are growing back. I have lupus and was dealing with alopecia since 2012. I ve been using African pride miracle leave in cream and blue magic. My hair growing back finally. I also was my hair with ivory bar soap and I use real coconut milk as a rinse instead of regular conditioner which leaves my 4b/c coarse hair very wavy and curly and hydrated.
