@@noahdean9685 bested by him in combat when he tried to clear his padawan and becomes the thing she was trying to convince the Jedi of being only to become his servant
Not just that; Tales of the Jedi was PEAK Star Wars. I don't care what people say about Andor, it may have been well-written, but it wasn't "Star Wars enough". SW at it's finest balances great story/characters and fun action. Tales of the Jedi had a beautifully written and engaging arc with young Dooku, but they still made sure to give us an awesome duel against Yaddle. From what I'm seeing, Tales of the Empire will do the same.
Honestly it's perfect for Star Wars. All the Star Wars animated projects never fail to keep me hooked. Can't say the same for the live-action ones I'm afraid. It's sad because a lot of people don't take animation seriously. They are definitely missing out on some peak Star Wars
That's because it's so good hadn't declared her allegiance, she may as well have been a Jedi to them. Bariss have been specifically recruited to serve the empire
First Tales of the Jedi now Tales of The Empire. It’s also cool that we got to see 2-3 episodes dedicated to Morgan Elsbeth from _The Mandalorian_ and _Ahsoka_ delving into her backstory and why she joined the Empire after the Nightsisters were massacred by Count Dooku, Grievous and the Separatists. Not to mention the return of Barriss Offee and other fan favorites such as Thrawn and The Grand Inquisitor. Hopefully a Tales of the Sith and Tales of the Bounty Hunters isn’t far behind and at the same time also have some of the unfinished Clone Wars arcs such as the Boba/Cad Bane arc, Son of Dathomir and Dark Disciple adapted.
Except for Andor. But Andor didn't really feel like a Star Wars show. I can't say it could have done just as well as it's own thing, since many of it's plot points require context and dramatic irony on the part of the viewer, but it definitely felt detatched.
@@eyesack6845 Yup, Andor sure doesn't feel like Star Wars. Not a single alien or droid amongst the heist crew, nor any aliens in the prison (which to be fair they perhaps kept as human only). And I think they maybe showed 1 alien on that main planet (the big one who was told to stand there to look menacing)? In the animated shows and Mandoverse shows there are aliens galore.
@@zanfear Well, to be fair, most of the live action star wars things don't have many aliens, and certainly not alien characters. I'm guessing the props, costumes, and effects eat up the budget big time. Still, I love Andor. It makes the Rebellion feel like a real thing, and treats it like it is - a terrorist organization. It doesn't dumb it down for the kiddies like every other piece of star wars (except rogue one). And the writing is flawless. (Edit: Not flawless. The plotline where cassian is looking for his sister is underdeveloped and sidelined. Possibly because it'll be explored in season two, so I can't judge it too harshly.)
I know its a long stretch, but this is the first time we're seeing Officer Thrawn on screen. As a book fan, my heart would explode if Eli Vanto is there......
This franchise cannot do anything outside of the clone wars or revolving around the Skywalker. The stories from the galaxy, far, far away are limited to just this. Over and over and over again.
I love that the animation feels more limitless due to live action being so budgeted with limitations especially the series they look cinematic but they can’t do stuff like this
I mean, I don’t like Filoni that much. I think he completely butchered Thrawn (and basically everyone) in his Ahsoka show. My main fear is two things, one, that he’ll pull a Filoni and retcon Timothy Zahn’s canon Thrawn novels for the sake of his show, and two, that the show won’t handle Thrawn well.

Then Barris second because I've wanted all these loose ends from the Clone Wars to be explained. And the Inquisitors third as I like the idea of them and won't complain about seeing more of them.

The animated shows are just on a whole other level.
They run rings around the live-action shows by the writing alone.

The acolyte won’t involve anything skywalker lol
After 45 years of fandom these animated shows are the only things keeping me around.
