    Electronics was my first true passion and career. I moved on the computers and that has taken me many places, both physically and technically. But I still love electronics and my passion would now be being an engineer and applying myself to all the things that come up in life; everything from arc welding, car mechanics, house building, fixing Android tablets, Linux, DevOps, computer programming, etc. If you have the mindset of being an engineer you can do anything, save yourself lots of money, and get the satisfaction of doing it yourself. Thanks Sorin for indulging me in my first passion!

    Excellent. Read so many books and watched so many videos, but with this lesson got surprised that I learned new things again - dc more dangerous than ac, skin effect, conductivity is the opposite of resistance, real demonstration of current vs voltage, .... heat, importance of amperage.... Sorin we need this. Thank you man. I am tired of people on the internet with no real experience trying to explain smth they read in a book, without any real application. It is only confusing and vague concepts. We need to touch things, not just theorize. So great lesson, thanks again.

    hi sorin, one detail that might confuse some people, W=watts is not heat but is the total power consumption by the device, which might make some heat and some light like your example, i know that you know what you say its just a clarification, great job.

    • @lpelectronics3747
      @lpelectronics3747 5 лет назад +4

      Yes you are right. In a incandescent lamp only about 5% if i remember well transformed in light and the rest consumed as heat. But in a pure resistor almost is 100% heat. On the other hand if you have a LED lamp most of energy becomes photons and much less heat. Generally speaking when we have resistors we are thinking as the consumption of watts on them as heat.
