Good day to you M. Hood and Alex, just wanted to say I have caught green finned dog fish in the St Joe River in ,around 3 rivers Michigan, hope it helps, best of luck to you guys!
That was a cool catch. Always cool stuff on this channel.
“bowfin” nuff said!!
I love my yeah you're right t shirt and sticker!!!!!
That fish looks like my best friends mom.
Nice work and great video
What you’re calling Goggle eyes, we know them as Warmouth, goggle eyes to us here in Ky, at least central Ky, we know as red eye or rock bass, either one of them are great Flathead livebait, and green sunfish too. A shoe pig is that bowfin to y’all? I heard them called all kinds of things, from mudfish to dogfish among other things too. I used to fish a lot of different paylakes and every once in a while somebody would catch a bowfin, most of those guys called them dogfish. Fellars would catch them fishing with livebait under a float fishing for flatheads in the paylakes. Fishing around the banks or just off the banks.
Nah we dem Cajun folk it ain't shoe pig btw it's Choupique it's French which most of our "common" names for fish etc are just Cajun slang. Goggle eye are just panfish in general for the most part as well as Gaspergou are fresh water drum or black drum, then we got Sac-au-lait (Sock-ah-lay) aka Crappie. Hope this helps.
@@PorchGobl1n - thanks, preciate it! 🤙🏻✌🏻
I made some ital white bean and spinach soup, had some Crescent 9 (iykyk), and a dram of 100 dollar whiskey. Settled in to watch this. Was not disappointed. I know they call them choupique here, but we called them grennel on Caddo and Wallace lakes up near Shreveport. We still said goggle eye, though, and not shellcracker. Are they the same? Also about the bowfin: they can breathe
air for short periods just fine. Such a fascinating prehistoric species.
Iv caught many green fin bowfin here in Illinois my favorite fish
22:58 LMAO😂😂😂😂
Do some Fishing in Grand Isle!!!!!
Good morning GOOD FRIEND Alex!⭐️
Yeah you right yeah you right
It’s sad that everybody has to throw their trash around, but you made a great video.
Well, I don’t know about in Louisiana, but where I’m from in Michigan both and her dog bear predominantly and nocturnal feeding fish
We have bowfin that color up here in s. Illinois.
GOGGLE EYE WILL MAKE GOOD CATFISH BAIT
That old road is the original Hwy 51. My dad remembers it being in use in the 1950's when he was a kid.
The famous low road.
It was the only way to get to new Orleans from the North shore
@@corinnestewart8925 Or Hwy 90 on the East.
I'm in Baton Rouge and I was looking for a good gar spot with bank access on the northshore or around Manchac. I found what looks like a good spot near where the Tchefuncte goes into Lake Pontchartrain on google earth, but I was just curious if you had any recommendations before I went there this weekend. I also totally get it if you don't want to give away your fishing spots. Thanks
Alligator bayou
Cypress trout
Looks like people need to learn to pick up after themselves.
Real sad , Louisiana is on the decline, broken infrastructure, tons of trash everywhere. What is the state doing with all the tax revenue. Pocketing it
Where I live they have inmates in the halfway houses that clean up trash on the sides of the roads. It definitely helps keep the roadways clean. Not sure why more states don't do this.
Spawning, male fins turn green
I've actually eaten shoe pick ⚒️
Old 51 hwy
😂😂 damn medical problems
Might be a trans fish.
