Hey Mama, that was great. I am one proud friend. I have always loved listening to you talk. You know me and the girls would be woo wooing you after that. speech. Love ya Loretta
Who would've thought a Crackerbarrel encounter could turn into a heartwarming exchange of stories and connection? Love truly knows no boundaries, not even pancakes!
The speaker raises thought-provoking questions about the social construct of race and its impact on humanity. It challenges us to confront our conditioning and make conscious choices to dismantle racism. A compelling call to action.
The speaker's analysis of race as a social construct challenges us to re-evaluate our perspectives and strive for a new social order based on care and unconditional love. A compelling argument for dismantling the barriers that divide us!
Wow… I mean I’ve loved you since the moment we meant but this…. Not only am I convinced that what you spoke about is truth I’m also convicted to open my head to someone that I need to listen to. Thank you!
Living in fear is never easy, especially when racial tensions are high. It's sad that we still face these challenges. Stay strong and keep spreading love, Glodean!
Glodean is just incredible!! She has an fantastic way of making you find a new way to think differently about the most discussed topics!!! Lead with love!!!
This so beautifully captures the transformative power of love and the need for _genuine_ connection in today's world. It's a reminder that despite our differences, we can choose to lead with care and bridge the gaps that divide us ❤❤❤❤
Love is absolutely, 100% without a doubt the lens through which we should view the world and one another. Sadly not enough people are shown unconditional love as they are growing and I think that really affects the way they're able to view the world and those in it.
Exactly, and that's exactly why those people need LOVE the most! Seems to me there's enough love (within those of us who were shown unconditional love) to go around! wink wink
Goldean, I love what you said and how you shared it with us. It's wonderful how you clearly and concisely expressed how we can choose to lead with love even when we disagree with someone. Very powerful, poised, and eloquent message you give us. Thank you so much for leading with love!!!
Thank you, Carl! Much appreciated! It's so amazing how my talk is landing with people in such a profound way. That was my intent since I realize change is only possible when you create an opportunity for people to hear you from their heart! You just confirmed it for me. Thank you!
I've shared Glodean's talk with dozens of friends and also a new group I belong to, Pro-Inclusion Napa. Glodean captures the goal we our setting for our group to build a community of caring instead of division. Glodean, you are a beacon of light in this crazy world. I love you dearly. Thanks for your inspiration.
I've seen the power of love and connection firsthand and Glodean is right, it's time to let go of divisive attitudes and embrace a more compassionate approach.
Thankyou Glodean. Perfect, so clear. It's so simply and wild it could change the world absolutely. I finally did this the other day with my Dad. It was beautiful. He felt heard and I could experience what the feelings were underneath his strong opinioning. It's so simple. Self love
OMG! Thank you so much, Sally. I'm so glad my talk resonated with you. AND I'm even happier that you see, by experience with your father, that it is possible to strengthen our connection to one another by just listening. It is simple, right. It's a choice we get to make and I wish more people would be like you and make that choice! Self love is the way!
Glodean, every time I hear you speak I feel like I need to do more to make the world a better place. Your heart and soul come through in every word you speak. Keep doing what you're doing. YOU are definitely making the world a better place and touching lives in a very meaningful way!
Thank you sooooo much! And an extra bit of thanks and serendipity because the main character in my novel and you share not only a first name, but a last name as well. Is your middle name, Lucille, by any chance?
That's so true, David...that is the hiccup! That just means those of us who do love ourselves have to give those who don't a little extra love to help them get there. 🧡
Wow, the message is so powerful I had to watch a second time. Thank you Glodean for spreading love and care, and showing the power each of us have to make the world a better place!
This is awesome Goldean and I would love to see this not only take off but also to be extended to all the other labels that (shouldn't) affect how we treat one another
I resonate with your fear. As an Asian American, I've experienced my share of discrimination. It's disheartening, but we need to keep fighting for equality and understanding.
I completely agree! These past two years have been transformative for me too. It's incredible how we can come out stronger and more self-aware despite the challenges.
It's disheartening to witness places like Alabama, or anyone who perpetuates racism and prejudice. Their harmful attitudes and behaviors should not be tolerated, and we must stand firm in condemning discrimination to create a more just and inclusive society.
I never really reflected on my life until recently, and it's been eye-opening. It's amazing how moments of hardship can push us to re-evaluate and strive for something better.
I'm so into this talk. The fact that race is literally just something we made up, like time or economics really isn't spoken about enough. I don't think we necessarily need a _new_ form of classifying and discriminating against people but yes, it is definitely enough with race already.
It's disheartening how social constructs limit our ability to relate to one another authentically. When we're trapped in stereotypes and assumptions, we deny ourselves the opportunity to truly understand and appreciate each other's unique experiences.
You stand in your power, your purpose, with such wise words, with such fluid eloquence, with conviction that, in the midst of chaos and complex social constructs, it really is that simple. It really is about compassion and love in action.
The story of your encounter in Alabama is a testament to the power of love and genuine connection. It's unfortunate that prejudice and political differences can create division. We need more open-mindedness.
Listening is such a crucial aspect of fostering understanding. We should be open to hearing different perspectives, even if they clash with our own. It's how we grow and evolve.
This is great. Thank you for sharing. I get the chance to see/meet Glodean later this year at TGSC Fall Conference. Her talk is on self love and leadership. Pretty much obsessed with TED Talks... Neat she has 2 of them to enjoy. Thanks again, Glodean. See you soon!
Sad that minorities have been the most injured and yet they/we have never given up on trying to bridge that gap...what a lopsided burden...but, they/we shall keep the fight for a loving society, to the uttermost.
I may be young, but I understand the importance of love and kindness. I hope we can all work together to build a future where everyone is valued and respected.
This presentation eloquently describes the personal journey of the speaker and the lessons learned while traveling across the country. It showcases the power of genuine conversations and the ability to overcome preconceived notions. A moving story that reminds us to break down barriers and embrace love as the foundation for change.
Love is indeed a powerful force that can bridge gaps and bring people together. It's heartwarming to hear your stories of connection during your cross-country trip. Love truly knows no boundaries.
Places like Alabama, with a history of racial tensions, serve as reminders of the work that still needs to be done to combat racism and that's why it's so crucial to engage in those difficult conversations.
You're absolutely right. Our world is full of vibrant colors and possibilities. It's time we embrace diversity and let go of the damaging effects of racism. Together, we can paint a more beautiful picture.
Honestly, I can't say I've had the same experience. The last two years have been tough, and I'm still struggling to find my footing. But it's inspiring to hear how others have managed to thrive, that it is possible.
That's right, @BrainLoon! Although I suspect that the media is making it seem worse than it actually is. Nonetheless, it's definitely time to let go of divisive attitudes and become more compassionate. We have SO much more fun when we connect with one another on a real level!
This talk is such a powerful reminder that change begins with ourselves! By opening our hearts and minds, we can overcome fear, judgment, and travma to foster genuine connections with others. Let's choose love and make a difference in the world ❤❤
Race has been a divisive factor for far too long. We need to challenge these ingrained beliefs and work towards a society where our differences are celebrated, not used to separate us.
The harmful attitudes and actions rooted in racism and prejudice should not be met with compassion or tolerance. Instead, we should actively work towards eradicating such behaviors.
Well, @haileypattern766, I agree with you in some small part. But, I know from experience that combatting racism and prejudice with anger and retribution doesn't help either. The only way we can work toward eradicating those behaviors is finding a way to LISTEN to and UNDERSTAND one another. We don't have to agree or like each other to find a way to co-exist.
I think everyone tries to act like they don't have any biases but we all do. I guess the issue is acting out of those biases instead of leading with love the way Glodean is encouraging us to do. But there is a really strong need for unity and understanding in our society and I'm going to try to listen to others and lead with love instead of fear.
Well Done! It is all about relationships. If we take time to cultivate a relationship (healthy and loving) then we can have meaningful discourse. Healthy relationships do not mandate same thinking. In fact, the best relationships allow us to respectfully challenge each others ideas and viewpoints. I know I'm better for the people that don't placate and appease but challenge me to think and be better. Love this!
In a diverse world, tolerance is key. We must embrace the richness of different cultures, beliefs, and perspectives. Through compassion and understanding, we can foster an inclusive society where everyone feels valued and respected.
We need more leading with care and love, it's essential in today's society. We should strive to understand others' perspectives and celebrate our differences!!
Changing the mindset of communities deeply rooted in racism is an uphill battle, but it's not impossible. Through education, dialogue, and fostering empathy, we can challenge these harmful beliefs and create a more inclusive future for all.
Love shouldn't be conditional on agreement or likeness. It's a powerful force that can transcend differences. Let's strive to lead with love and compassion, even when it's challenging. There's not telling how much all of our lives could improve if that's what we were doing
Systemic racism has caused immense harm throughout history, but it's up to us to make better choices and dismantle these oppressive structures. It starts with individual accountability!
Thanks, @asikahoinka! I will say that the trip was much easier once I recognized my fear and then released it. I can only imagine how it could have gone sideways had I carried that fear with me!
Social constructs create unnecessary barriers between individuals. When we let preconceived notions based on race, gender, or any other construct guide our interactions, we miss out on the richness of diverse perspectives and meaningful connections.
Communities that cling to racism and prejudice need to be held accountable for their harmful beliefs. While it's important to promote understanding, there's no room for tolerance when it comes to attitudes that harm and exclude others.
True...and in the face of racism and prejudice (and the fact that folks are rarely held accountable) we have to find a way to protect our sanity. Reacting to something that is only real so people can use it as a weapon against us isn't nonsensical. But, I feel you. I really do. Thanks for watching!
And until there are no longer first-class and second-class citizens of any nation, until the colour of a man's skin is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes. I must admit I don't encounter many POC's in my daily walk through life. If I lived in the USA it would be different and I would have to ask myself if I'm prejudiced?
Thank you for sharing. I would say that now that you've questioned the possibility of "prejudice" you should just be more aware should you encounter POC.
"How could hate be on the rise when everyone I knew wanted hugs?" Is such a beautiful and pure question.

Thank you for sharing. I would say that now that you've questioned the possibility of "prejudice" you should just be more aware should you encounter POC.
