the precon comes with a few infinites. Lightning runner is the infinite combats, but you can also get infinite Thopter Generation from Whirler Virtuoso really easily a few ways (make 3 aetherstorm rocs with commander, Gonti's Aetherheart can also act as 2 energy of the 3 energy requirement. Izzet generatorium can make all of this easier by adding that additional energy to all these triggers. upgrade wise, if you have automated assembly line, it can replace whirler virtuoso too.
None of this. Gut all the energy and run it as a mid range copy/control deck using etbs and damage triggers. You could alternatively run it as an artifact deck or as a Voltron being able to copy key etbs/ static effects like scram, enthusiastic mech. Stoneforge mystic etc. running it as an energy deck is the weakest way to run this commander frankly. Energy is not great at this time but capitalizing on etbs/damage and dies triggers in jeskai is nutty
Been playing this deck since release, Guide of Souls is absolute must in this deck, most of the time you're able to (assuming you have the guide turn 1 or 2) attack with your commander, make another guide, and use the second ability on the guide to give your commander 2 +1/+1 counters and a flying counter. AND you have 1 energy left over to keep the copy of the guide. Definitely picking up Intrepid Adversary to try out!
Reconnaissance, Mother of Runes, Maze of Ith all keep your attack triggers coming against mucked up boards, and much much more.

I've play tested the upgraded deck a couple times and you'll have no issue paying the energy cost, one time I had 21 energy by turn 6.

whirler virtuoso can create infinite tokens easily easily in this deck you cannot cut him he's honestly one of the best cards in the deck
