I have to comment on the finger bandage... Ike is definitely old-school because that's exactly the first-aid I used in the truck shop back in the 1980's. Black tape and anything absorbant. Awesome!

ChappyboyLSX I don’t think the carbs are dirty. I think they have an A/F ratio issue. The carbs on those old motorcycles require very specific air boxes / filters to run right. I’d bet the bike is getting too much air at WOT because the air is not restricted enough.

Hey guys, just a heads up: if you have an old hair drier or can splurge on a hot air gun from Harbor Freight, use it ho heat up old rubber hoses and especially the older rubber intakes. it will make taking the carbs off and putting them on WAY easier and might help you keep from splitting hard to find or reproduce hoses.

Hey Isaac take it from a bloke who hasn't seen his face for 44 years, beards are meant to stay on and actually work like an air conditioner. In winter the beard keeps your dial warm and in summer your face sweats into it and then as you move around, the air moves through it carrying away the heat. Cools ya when it's hot and warms ya when it's not. Keep up the good work.

Also use 4 kx85 flat slide carbs. It will run off those carbs but tune will need it. Get 4 o2 plugs and 4 02 bungs and put them in run the gauges to the handle bars and tuning is more direct. After tuning you can put plugs in the bungs so you aren't running for lines that look messy.

I love the fact that you guys did not try to hide the fact that it scared the literal hell out of you. takes a real man to admit when it comes to riding things, that it just might kill you. haha! Please be safe on that thing fellas. Definitely fix those rear brakes. Have you considered a longer rear swing arm for more stability? i know the crazy fast drag ATC 250r's run them at Glamis when they go all out. Also, awesome that you used the z50 tank on this thing. hilarious and so appropriate given the insanity of the Honduki. I would love to ride that thing. Keep doing God's work, boys. love your channel

Going to be awesome with different rear sprocket. Also bigger rear sprocket will have better decel coming into a corner. So regardless of power you need good decel gearing for good operating decel

😅 loving it, that motor I had a 69 and a 71 CB. That I rode to school and back and then took it drag racing, very familiar with that motor. The CDI ignition and coil pack will wake it up you will be surprised.🤣 can't wait to see the end results peace out✌👊

Extend the swing arm then take it to the drag strip. 3/4 to full throttle is all main jet, sounds like it might need to be down jetted just a little. Seems like it's running a little rich, especially if you're fouling plugs. Anyway love watching your channel, thanks

The nice thing about the zip tie linkage is that it fails safe. If it breaks the throttle is just going to close, rather than get stuck wide open

We was dealing with this same problem. We kept thinking the carbs were dirty. We cleaned them 4 times in a row all the while my buddies step dad kept saying put the cover on the airbox, we was like.......what? That's not it........ So after the 4th cleaning(we were 18 at the time)we was like.......fine well put the side plate on, Mickey came back 👀 looking like this.....he said ITS BAD, ITS BAD, ITS BAD TO THE BONE!
IT WAS A 78 CB750. When it hit 4 on the tech it would launch like a rocket! Powerband was insane!

I rode a Kawasaki 700cc atv once. I did one lap around the property and took it straight back to its owner and instructed him to never let me ride that thing again. I’m no stranger to wheelies. I stunt my Honda 400ex, 4th gear wheelies down the back roads, 1st gear clutch-up high chair wheelies, stoppies... 65mph on the 400 is pretty comfortable on and off road for me. But that 700? Screw that thing man. There’s no way to safely use that power for anything good. Lol. Maybe I’m officially getting old, but there’s just no sense in it. It was fun, I did a couple wheelies, managed not to flip over backwards. and kudos to those who have the self control to have something like that and not be reckless with it. But I can tell you, I have no use for that much power. I simply can’t do anything good with it. Now you guys have an engine that makes it’s power in the higher RPM range. You might be able to make it more manageable in the 0-70mph range, but I have a feeling you’ll never really use the full rpm and gear range that setup can provide. Maybe that’s for the best. Lol. But I sure am enjoying watching you goof around with it. Have fun and be safe!

You should gear it down so first gears is a crawling here because you can always start out in a higher gear if you want to start out quicker. You should buy four lectron carburetors for it it would be about the same price as having the carburetors rebuilt, and you'd never have to tune a carburetor ever again. Those lectron carburetors are a game changer.

So, curious what carbs y'all have janked together there? My son has a Honda 750 with no carbs that has been sitting in my way for WAYYYYY to long. I'm thinking I'd like to try that setup just to get the thing to run and out of my way!
So, any info would be nice!

This is my absolute favorite project that you guys have worked on. I'm sure it's going to be badass when it's all finished correctly? I would really like to have this project? but I checked and you want hang on to it. it's definitely a wild animal. I agree it needs tires, rear brakes, and good working front brakes, and all the rest of the jank fixed. it's definitely got tons of potential once it's finished correctly. I bet it will definitely set the fastest lap on the grandprix. it's a real monster. since this video it turned out to be such a shame that Ike got hurt on it. but whenever you guys get back to revisiting it. there's no doubt you guys will want to have some proper. leather's, and pads, and safety gear on when you ride it again. you have to remember you guys never even got it into fourth gear. so I can't imagine how scary it will be when you finish it. which makes it the kind of rocket ship I would totally love to ride. and I would like to see you take it to Bosco Beach. and blow everyone away on the drag strip. because I know it would do it. I'm waiting patiently to see it when it's finished. oh yeah did I mention it's my favorite project. I think it's the fastest project that you guys have hands down.
this project has inspired me to build one just exactly like it. finding a quad chassis shouldn't be to difficult. but finding a decent 750 four Is going to be harder. but if I can round up the parts I'm definitely going to build a monster quad. it's just too AWESOME not to do it.

Man that thing is a BAMF. I'd Widen the front suspension and extend that rear end out about 10in. Will help with stability at higher speeds. Cant wait to see some street tires on it at the strip tho. Thats gonna be sick!

I think some more comfortable bars would be great. Instead of a straight piece of pipe that puts you in a seating position optimal for throwing you over the bars.
