Kudos on being one of the few people doing this with mods on youtube. Most of the videos on here make the point of making sure you know its without mods, lol. I wanna see heavily modded settlements :D
Honestly, the building system in this game is next to useless without adding a bunch of mods like "Scrap Everything", "Insignificant Object Remover", Snappy Builds" and mods that restore certain location features etc.
I use concrete to build. I calculate how many settlers I can provide a bed for by adding a single large floor piece for every bed because you don't want to make the quarters too cramped, otherwise there will be pathing problems and you will hear stuff like "You should know, people are sleeping in shifts". So, if you want to make shelters for 20 people make a room with 21 floor pieces (the extra one takes into account that you don't want a bed to block the way in where the door is. I put connectors on the roof for power and add wall lights and table lamps. Missile turrets are put at each corner on the roof. And my stuff is done entirely without mods and that says something because concrete is heavy.
@@IAREDARK Sorry that went ZIP right over. Defense is priority for me. I also like having missile kites. You know the kind. Build a couple sets of wooden stairs into the sky and add a small floorpiece. Put the missile turret up there and then scrap the floor from beneath it. Wire it up to a power source and then scrap the stairs you put in to climb up. There you go... a missile kite.

Ay IAREHOUSEBUILDER, I look forward to any content on this channel or your main so it's nice to see a stream and this. Tbh you should've just went to play a game on Roblox for 5 year old's since you had such a hard time and spent 4 hours on that ball challenge
LOL...accidently scrap something...'oh well'. Save often and you can load the old save if you really didn't want to scrap something...it's easy to scrap stuff accidently for sure.
Nothing wrong with mods...people just can't handle other people taking control and using something 'not lore friendly' for their games and like to push others into not using mods which the mods fixed alot of the problems in this game. Also added lots of new content so this game is like new over and over...they literally kept it alive. This is how the whole building videos started although, there is a guy who shows how to do this without mods...I'm of the opinion that after 200 plus years, you'd think that building homes would have improved with some sort of construction and also like cars...why not get cars going? So in a lore way you could totally explain that humanity could have opened up manufacturing and things that were'n't affected by the bombs and supply lines and so on would have been established after so long...I think it's perfectly fine. I use over500 mods, most are building mods because I only want to build new, no need for shacks or holey walls or roofs. Next time they whine at you about mods...just say...HELL....they were building pyramids thousands of years ago and you think after 200 plus years humans can't build something better than a shack or can't fix 200 year old buildings? LOL
Do any of these mods listed depend on the script extender? Don't want to download a mod & become dependent upon it if it is going to be broken with every update.
@@IAREDARK haha, I wasn’t being rude dude:) I just genuinely stop watching videos when there’s mods involved. Perhaps put (mods) in the title for future? Friendly suggestion. All the best man ✌️

It depends. Settlements are a good source of caps, passively generating water, fertilizer and plastic (to make Jet), and revenue from each shop. The happier they are, the better the yield of crops/caps. If you're playing on survival mode, they're necessary bastions for rest & resupply. If you're clever, you can set up a settlement to be irresistible to raiders and use that to farm legendary items & nuclear material if you happen to outfit as many people as possible with plasma weapons. Giving them a single round provides infinite ammunition, so it is a lot more feasible than it might seem. Other than that, some of us simply like the challenge of building something which seems to blend seamlessly into the game.
The mods I used are listed in the description of the video before anyone asks
Most people just say "Fuck you figure out the mods yourself" Cool you actually put them there
yeah, but you didn't say where you get those mods from?
@@5kyne7 Nexus mods, that's where you will find most of the mods, some you have to get through the in game mod menu though

Bethesda is missing the DLC boat. A really good DLC. Can make them a ton of $$.
Ooh la-la!
"Scrap everything" can even scrap my life problems!

Nice scrap looking house, very creative to make it look like a real home
A stream and a video in one day, impressive. Especially after going insane by trying to figure out how to play with balls for half an hour.
To be fair, I did most of the work on this video yesterday
Also it was 13 minutes, c'mon, that puzzle was brutal

Great stream earlier
my kitchen mod not working
I can't find that shelf filler mod on nexus 😢
It's on bethesda.net so you have to get it in the in game mod browser
@IAREDARK ohh, is there any conflict using the in game browser and vortex?
I don't use vortex but I wouldn't think so. The in game browser has a load order manager which should show mods you have installed using vortex

So umm currently playing FO4. So ummm what's the point of taking the time to build a house that has no benefit to play the game.
Really none, although it can be really fun to set up a proper settlement, instead of just cramming 18 sleeping bags into a single room
