On Tuesday, January 28 the foreign interference report is going to be released. I hope that you have guest on and do a deep dive into this report. I look forward to watching that episode.
Erica Barootes gets crushed by Cheryl Oats throughout this whole segment. In particular though with regards to the UCP’s reckless and underhanded decision to lift the coal pause in the eastern slopes. Have to address two ridiculous comments by Erica, although there were many.1. “Gonna cause us long term damage of money.” First off if the government fights the coal companies it doesn’t mean they will lose and if they do it doesn’t mean they will lose the amount suggested. Second off there is no such thing as the long term damage of money. Money is always recoverable in one form or another by government sources. Conversely the landscape and the water is not recoverable. 2.”Once reclaimed the landscape will be better than it was before.” Okay that’s what we want to see. Finely manicured landscape instead of untouched wilderness that took millions of years off to create. This beauty cannot be matched by the hand of man but can only destroyed. “Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit and as vital to our lives as water and bread.” Edward Abbey
Notley didn’t get a pipeline built, it was being built by Kinder Morgan private company until Trudeau-Notley alliance put up so many regulations and barriers that KM had no choice but to walk away from the build. Notley is responsible for every Canadian paying $900 to build it. A project that was 3 years behind and $30 Billion over budge, once the federal government took over the build!!!!
Nice attempt at retconning. This is the stupidest most idiotic and false comment I've read in a long time. Notley championed the project and went to war against BC's opposition to it. The regulations were necessary to protect coastlines, residential property, and compensate FN lands and concerns. KM stopped work because their investors bailed on a project that made no business sense. It still doesn't. Most of the tankers that fill up from the TMX terminal in Burnaby are going to the US anyway. So much for foreign markets. What a joke.
