Now to me, I was paying him a huge compliment to say he looked like my Grandpa (who’s now passed away), but he thought I was being a wise ass.
He realized I meant what I said and I wasn’t being a disrespectful punk. Just feeling his huge fat fist on my chin was enough for me to know, no way in hell do you want to get an uppercut from Zito. It’s lights out for real.
He’s a good dude, stood and talked with my 2 friends and I for about 15 minutes. This was at 2019 San Diego Comic Con.

Definitely, Cus, though deceased, was 100% responsible for Tyson’s success-100%.
Cus & his wife gave Tyson love- & received it in turn.
Tyson’s life was a toboggan slide, thereafter.
Tyson won the 1984 Golden Glove Nationals.
    Tyson turned pro in 1985.
The most charismatic & wonderful, then living legend, Johnny Duke, of Hartford, asked me to join him glove all of the fighters in the 1982 National Golden Gloves in KC.
In 1981, NYC did not participate in the Nationals. Our fighter, out of Chicago, won 132 pound Nationals; lost to NYC in the Inter-City. “If you won the NYC Golden Gloves you got nothing more to prove.” That was true.
The NYC Golden Glove winners could beat the GG National Final winners.
Those NYC young men were tough & champions.
Cus was 100% responsible for Tyson being Champion.

Zito is clueless, especially about Rocky. It was Moore vs. Durelle. Louis fought at 198 early in his career. At maturity he was around 205. He was 213 when he fought Rocky. Charles was 33. Rocky was 31. Marciano was 28 when he beat Walcott, not 26. Rocky didn't have is first legit pro fight until he was 25. Louis was 37, not 40 when he fought Rocky. Willard did not outweigh Dempsey by 150 pounds. He was 6 6", not 6'8". Archie Moore's age was always a mystery. But he was officially listed at 39 when he fought Rocky.

I love Chuck. Here's an aging goomba that's still dangerous. A Hell's Angel Member that never smoked, drank, or did drugs. The Hell's Angels were some bad boys. I was in Sturgis, South Dakota, and I watched 4 Hell's Angels get into it with some rival bikers that had them outnumbered by 5 (there were 9 of the other bikers). The Hell's Angles did not back down when confronted. They fought like Vikings. The Hell's Angels got the worst end of the fray, but not by much. They were still standing holding their own when it was over. They were bloody and winded but still ready to fight on before the cops rushed in. The bar was a mess. Tables, chairs, and glass everywhere.
However, a couple of corrections. Marciano did fight a 38 Joe Walcott. Joe Louis was 37 when he fought the Rock in 1951. The Rock was the 3-1 underdog in both fights. Marciano started boxing late--he was nearly 25 during his first fight. Marciano weighed 182 when he fought Louis and Louis weighed 212. Ezzard Charles was 33 years old when he fought the Rock. The Mongoose--Archie Moore--was 41 in 1955. Don Cockell was the British champion and Marciano KOed him. He was 4 years younger than the Rock. It is true that Marciano beat fighters that were in age but they were the best of the best. Louis was rusty when he fought the Rock, and had not fought in over a year. Rocky was training every day and was in great shape. The fight was one-sided Louis was knocked out of the ring. Tyson was in his prime when he fought Larry Holmes in 1988 and Holmes was 38--a year older than Louis. When you compare the fight record of Marciano's he was 49-0-43 KOs. Still the best heavyweight record ever. Marciano was not the best boxer in history. He is the undefeated boxer with the best record in history. There will always be pros and cons. But you may consider about taking up an issue against Chuck Zito. Here is a guy that may be up in age but still can pack a punch.
