what a savage. He did it without a jack.
He also did it without a filter wrench this guy is a pro
As soon as I saw the foot wear I knew this man knew what he was doing great job!
Great tutorial, no need to Jack the car up. It’s safer and allows the oil to drain better when the car is level. Thanks for teaching us
The “172 thumbs down” 👎 are from all the other youtubers who uploaded videos on how to do an oil change! 🤦♂️ I don’t see how u couldn’t like this. It was very beneficial to me! Thank you 🙏 for this video, beloved. Take care. Blessings
Thanks, Morozov Automotive, for uploading this. It helped me tremendously changing the oil on a Honda Civic 2009.
Tips for people who are looking to change their oil:
1. oil plug will be either 16 or 17mm or 11/16.
2. If a business changed the oil last it will be really hard to get the drain plug out without the car lifted because they use drill guns. I fought with my oil plug too long before taking it to grease n go to loosen the plug.
3. Have a Oil Filter Wrench. The oil filter is in a tough position to get a good grip by hand. Now this is the same as #2. If it was hand tightened last it should be easy to get off but if some business did it last be prepared.
Those were the few problems I ran into.
I have a splashproof guard so I took it to the garage to do. I heard that there is a metal plate to take off in order to get to the sump plug bolt.
Safety 1st... Make sure you always wear sandals when doing an easy oil chance.😹
Y’all complaining bout a jack but it got done🤷♂️
Thank you. For those asking why car it's not jacked. You need a flat surface for the fluids to be properly drained. Thank's again, keep up the good work!
i havent looked under my Granddaughters Honda yet to see what the shape of her oil pan is but i cant remember ever seeing one in any car that didnt give better drainage with the car jacked up and oil pan sloping slightly to the rear
Wow, that is low budget! He didn't even buy a funnel! I am impressed.
I hope this video collectively saved people millions of dollars.
Ya $1.06 he will save from dollar tree
Remember to use half of a seltzer bottle as a funnel and of course make sure you have your best beach sandals on
A floor Jack would help
Ppl who complain should do their own vdo using a jack.. it can be done with/without the jack . Thanks for the vdo bro.
Thank you!! Now don't have to spent $69 for an oil change on my hybrid lol
all without jacking the car. that's skill.
leefiles that's not skills, that's being small. like me.
You're tiny grasshopper.
noh, i want to be an ant. ants are small but they are really freaken strong!
Doesn't take skill with these cars. They made them so you could change the oil without using a jack
buy some ramps man .. hahahah
What a legend, didn't even jack up the car
Don't have to with that monster truck
Don't have to with that monster truck
i said the same lmao
Thanks for the post, helped me prepare my tools prior to the 1st oil change on my Civic.
awesome guide! unfortunately im to fat to do this without jacking it up haha.. i just jacked the front left side up about 3 inches off the ground
Thank you im doing mine now that i saw this video very simple
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU (Spacibo!) Easy to understand in any language, and thanks for including ALL the relevant details-perfect video and VERY easy to follow, again, Thanks!
GREAT video shots & technique !!! THANK YOU !!!!
I hate the mechanic who screwed the drain plug and the filter too tight.
2007 1.8 model dipstick oil level between upper and lower mark please reply
Beautiful British Columbia....thanks for posting
Thanks for the video. it helps me alot.
What camera are you using for filming?
Great video really helpful
Thanks for the video, it was very useful for me
Good job..keep making tutorials...
Very well done.
For reference, how long is your arm from the top of your shoulder to the bottom of your wrist?
lol, i have a ditch in my front yard so i just drive over it, put some cardboard down and work from underneath .... works great, jacks, blocks are a pain ...
How many bottles of oil did you use when you were putting the new oil in it?
Awesome vid dude! Thank-You! Just changed the oil im my Wife's car... before watching this... didn't have a clue! lol
The minimum tools needed I've ever seen :-O
Has anyone had to replace the oil filter housing bolt? (the bolt that the filter goes on / part #: 90015-ph1-013) I may have to eventually do it because the dealership did something to it and now it doesn't come off the same as it did, like there's resistance, my mechanic pointed it out last time.
Great video. Thank you!
I have a honda civic LX 08 I used 5w30 because it's pushing 110k miles, how many miles till oil change from 105400? Help please!
Did he put 4quartz of oil
Man thanks for the video save me a lot of money in mine and my gf car
Buen trabajo gracias
Very good job!!!!
Good job. Tank you
Отличное видео мужики 👍 Привет из Нью Йорка
Muchas gracias. Me ha servido mucho!! gracias por su aporte
thank you
excellent!
Some genius decided to make the bolt insanely hard to take off
I have a 2012 honda civic and I r18z1 engine failure could be lower than cabie them the oxygen sensor and spark plug but still the same
This guy is awsome!!! After you take the drain plug out what size washer do you buy? Sorry am a newbie after the lube shop raised it up to 85 dollars for 15 mins work drew that I hate money hungry people 😡
Drain Plug Washer (14mm) Part Number: 94109-14000. Honda OEM 94109-14000 Oil Crush Washers/Drain Plug Gasket (10) - amzn.to/3Mrzf6D.
never replaced the oil drain plug, nor the washer, have yet to experience any leaks. the most important thing is that the two mating surfaces are clean and that no dust or crudd have made it's way in between
excellent video, thanks.
Dammm...and me like a sucker spent $3 for a funnel.
What size wrench did you use on the drain bolt?
17mm.
I have honda civic 2005.
Recently changed the oil to zic 5w-20. Previous owner was using zic but not sure which one.
Anyways, noticed the engine noise increased after a week or two. Sounds like a jet engine when you give it the gas specially in first 5 gears.
Someone suggested to use 10w 40. Do you think it will help reduce the engine noise?
I live in a warm areas and car has 170000 miles on it.
Seems like the plastic undertray has already been removed
How often should i change my oil? I run full synthetic 5w-20 Mobil 1 Oil and a Bosch filter
with synthetic I'd say 5-8k safely? depends on the car. My turbo GTI I do synthetic every 5k. not turbos i hear ppl say 7.5k miles
YoungViet honda service manual recommends 10k KM or 1 year for normal conditions and 5k KM or 6 months for severe conditions
Every 3k miles, at least for a honda civic 2008
Every 5K but change your filter to another brand.
Any one have any tips for getting the oil drain plug loose? I have tried similar to the video with no luck.
you can try using vice grip pliers.
Breaker bar. If you dont have one, add something to make the handle on your tool longer like a pvc pipe
спасибо за этот видео.
Ok got it!
Im surprised he used a funnel...
No one thought about considering the guy’s arm length...this is important, because, if he is tall, he barely reaches the drain bolt. That would be a “tad” hard to reach to a shorty like me. 😅
If you can't reach the drain bolt, you can always lift the car or use ramps.
That’s the only considerable option for a hobbit 🤣
I'm 64 years old and have been changing my own oil in my trucks and my wife's cars since I was 17 years old and never changed the oil plug washer, never had a leak, go figure
Yeah same here. It takes a lot for a washer to wear out.
this is 1.8 liter or 2.0 liter engine?
It's 1.8.
How does not changing the washer effect the oil leaking or not?
Basically, it could leak. But very likely won't.
I own this car and never change the washer, never leaks, I change oil every 6 months. No need to change this to be honest, just dont use too much force and it will last.
Not changing the washer could affect the seal. Pretty much the bolt and engine oil pan that the bolt screws into may not be a perfect seal, so the washer goes in the middle and when under pressure, it conforms to the bolt head and the oil pan. Usually the washer get crushed in between, so its a greater chance that it will not seal as well after it gets deformed. But if you tighten it well, it should be fine. I have resued a washer before but i usually replace everytime.
че за спартанские условия, Бро? ямы\эстакады нет в городе?
Спасибо! Все очень понятно показали!
Пожалуйста, рад, что помогли.
Hey, what size would the washer be? Thanks!
@@GarrettJimmy for my 2007 honda civic EX it was a 1/2 gasket

What is the amount of oil recommend for 2008
@Adam84 B
Too much oil isn't good, acctualy it's as bad as having less oil
@Adam84 B is that good for 2007?
Man I forgot how loud those fucking Sky Trains are in Vancouver
You can tell dude lives in the San Francisco Bay Area because you can hear the BART Train in the background. :-)
Actually, it is Vancouver :)
@@MorozovAutomotive
I recognized the BC licence plate and I was thinking how close does this look to the licences here in BC cloud he be a Vancouverer!!
I guess you are then
He don't need a Jack cus his name is Jack 😆
No jack
Question about oil filters : Can you just save the old one, soak it in soapy water, and use it again?
Sure, it is cheap, but the guy is already using a cut soda bottle instead of a funnel. More importantly, we are reducing waste in the environment.
Sure, go ahead. Get soap and water where oil should be.
@@hobo101101101 er... the idea is you let it dry out. Surely you know that much at least.
@@YD-uq5fi
Your question is a load of shit. You asked the same thing on another video.
Crawling under a vehicle is strictly for trucks and SUVs. Jack the car up a few inches and use a jack stand. Remember to use handbrake or put chock behind car. Also 9 out of 10 times you will not remove a filter with your bare hands. Get an oil filter wrench otherwise you may be changing oil and not filter (which is ok too once in a while).
You're supposed to put oil in the new filter before putting it back on
El filtro como lo consigo como se llama tengo un cívic 2008 lxs
at your local automotive store, like autozone
pinche tu culo con una barreta....
En una tienda loco donde más ? En una carniceria jaja
my civic is the exact same color
i have a 1.8 liter engine ivtec ...how many liters of oil i wll put thnx.....
What kind of car is it?
honda civic fn2 1.8 140hp
Sorry, I haven't dealt with fn2 type. My guess would be 3.7L. But you should enquire at your dealership.
+Morozov Automotive same I have FN2R.
Honda Civic FN2 (= Type-R) is 2.0 201hp and oil capacity is 4.4 liters
Honda Civic FN1 is 1.8 140hp and I don't know oil capacity for this one
i can never open the drain plug. i have tried and ended up rounding the bolt. can someone plz advise?
You can try using Bolt And Nut Removal Set. Smth similar to what I have used in this video to remove the lug nuts - ruclips.net/video/lR4_7thPHX0/видео.html. But you will need the replacement bolt after you remove it.
yes...u should off used the right ranch....now u screwed
Remove the oil cap from under the hood first sometimes it can create a vaccuum
use a ratchet
Use a ratchet, along with a 2 foot metal pipe for extra torque.
did well considering it wasn't jacked up
Literally the same car I'm doing the oil change in. Same color and year. Anyways I'm a Chevy pick up man...the hondas run good though so I wanted to make sure the oil filter was easily accessible unlike some cars where they are hidden behind the engine. Well good...I'll get the oil changed in my ole ladies car so she shuts the hell up about it. Nag nag nag. I hate nagging

Not in russia !!
dude u had a jack in the car. come on ppl
This would work if i didn't have a belly pan
that's fingerbox!
Anyone else hear that crying baby around 1:00-1:10?
If you don’t have oil running down your entire arm you’re not doing it right.
one thing to avoid🏌🏿♂️
какая морока с заменой фильтра, у немцев все гораздо проще- фильтр сверху мотора, меняется только сердечник за секунды
wow.. buy a car jack Bro! ^^
+Jay Macky
I've got one.
then why don't you use it.
AGREE.
That's a monster truck compared to my Honda
Doesn't make sense to squeeze under a car to change oil. Need more clearance. The pan barely fit under the car.
I hate the dipstick for this car. I find it a lot more difficult checking the oil level with the dumb plastic material and bright ass orange colour for it lol. -_-
Nice tutorial tho.
You didn't prime the filter first. Should always add oil to a filter that "screws up" to ensure oil flow to the engine during initial start up.
Nonsense. You should inform yourself this isn’t the only way air filter is attached. Some cars have it horizontal or even straight bottom up which means your prefilled oil would end up everywhere but where you claim it should be, when re-inserting.
Don’t think engineers designed all the other cars to get engine damaged with each oil and oil filter change cause of “improper” oil flow at initial start up.
4:55 isn't that exactly what he is doing?
@@annalorenzo75 No he's just lubing the rubber ring seal around the outside edge. He should've filled the oil filter w/new oil before installing. That's called "priming" the filter. The engine will now run for a short time without any oil in it🤷♂️
@@yamaharaptor01able interesting. Im gonna have to watch another RUclips on that.
Not really though...unnecessary. I mean, if you feel like doing that, that's great. Maybe in a system where 100% of the oil is channeled through the filter prior to everywhere else..this would be an issue...but oil is typically not distributed that way. A smaller percentage ends up being cycled through the filter, in terms of complete distribution. Over time, all of the oil will eventually have cycled through the filter, yet it has cycled thorugh the engine many times over. Simply filling the oil puts more than enough oil where it needs to be for start up. The sump will have plenty of oil to draw when its properly filled, and it will be pumped to all of the intended areas in the same amount of time. Your filter will also have oil in it too, without priming. If you don't believe me, just fill your oil during your next oil change with the drain plug installed but don't install the filter until after the fill. Hint: you might want to leave that drain pain underneath...or have fun cleaning up, lol!!
Put oil in the filter next time
My oil filter just wont come off. What the fucking hell. Now i have a car with no oil and no way to get the filter out
You may need smth like this: www.amazon.com/TEKTON-5866-12-Inch-Filter-Pliers/dp/B000NPR33O/ref=br_lf_m_n8t6dgpwye2j5g9_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&s=hi
Omg 😂😂😂
Put some muscle nto it next time cupcake
Bandwrench it
I would have jus stabbed it with a screwdriver and twist it off
omg even the scre fell in oil ! jack up the car realease the lock and then lower it, it will drain the same way without u pushing ur body under the car. make things easy bro
in this video, the idea is to show, that it can be done without the jack.
oohh ok, i got it buddie. if thats what you meant, then u did a good job man. thanx for that
Morozov Automotive why would anybody do that without the jack?!
Anthony Holder Why not?
because is freaking stupid man.
Jacks are high....Hey do it the way you prefer.
Do it in a random parking lot so you don't have to clean up all the oil you spilled all over..
We didn't spill any oil at all. That is why you use cardboard.
That's so incredibly rude
THE TITLE OF YOUR VIDEO IS WRONG U SHOULD PUT LIKE THIS IS THE WAY U CHANGE OIL UR CAR WHEN YOUR JACK IS MISSING OR BROKEN THAT'S MIGHT BE ACCEPTABLE.....
The title is right. Oil has been changed. In this case without the use of the jack.
Morozov Automotive I like the way you did it. It was just like I do it. Good job, man, the lazy assholes who complain would want to get a free beer to bitch and watch you do it, too.
Thanks. You did it for me, I've got a 2006 and I'm ready to change the oil.
Den NC USA
+Morozov Automotive I agree. I like the way you did it. It was actually simplified and makes me feel like I can do it. Thanks for the video!!
Trina Nguyen i agree
You said counter clockwise but it looked like you're turning clockwise
YOU CALLED THAT SIMPLE OPERATION ?? your making me lough how many seconds to lift the car with alligator jack and u look struggling there cmon bro I'm mechanic for so many years unless u have no money to buy a jack lol and look at your mess there!!
