Had first bout 2 years ago, went to the ER (and it took ALOT for me to make that decision!) they did a head scan and thankfully no masses, diagnosed it as O.N., prescribed pain killers. Now 2 years later I had same horribly painful symptoms, went to ER, diagnosis O.N., prescribed painkiller... Well, your site was the 2nd I found w/in 15 minutes of searching and I learned it was a compression of C1 & C2 discs and also the stretches/maneuvers I could do myself to alleviate the pain. I did them and the pain went away almost immediately! WTF?!?!? If the ER Dr. knew of this, he could've had me pain free right there in the ER. You two are lifesavers and I'd love to send you a thank you gift!!! xoxoxoxoxo

@@SoloMeraki it's good to hear that you feel better. Hoping mine gets better too. I'm so done with this. I basically fainted due to dehydration which led to a fall. I don't recall hitting my head but I faced concussion-like symptoms for a few days which eventually went away, like loss of balance, fatigue, sensitivity to light and sound etc. However, there is this stress that I feel on my upper neck and headache is present too. I can't risk going to the doctor. I feel like I am almost fully recovered but the headache and the pressure on my head scares me and still hasn't gone. I'm one of those overthinking people. Kept searching my symptoms and increased my fear. How did you manage to get rid of stress and anxiety? I'm guessing I have the same issue.
Oh god the towel thing feels so good. The pain & tingling from my eyes to my traps comes back slowly after I'm done though. I hope better posture and chin tucks can get rid of the pain after a while.
So glad I found this, I have been have this type of pain and headaches for 4 years now nothing has ever worked to relieve the pain and doctors were just saying it was a migraine or tension headaches that came every couple of weeks and it last 3 days every time. I did these exercises earlier today and used ice a few times and am feeling so much relief that it’s almost completely gone on the first day! I wish I would have found this video sooner. @@gilbertogarcia9435 Coconut water has been amazing for me with these kinds of headaches! I had my brother try it as well bc he also got really bad migraines like these and both of us feel relief within minutes! Coconut is anti-inflammatory as well as has nutrients that many people with migraines or other bad headaches are deficient in. Drinking coconut water has been so wonderful for me!
Wow thankyou did d chin thing, d ice, and the towel technique while watching d vid and it helped so so much ..my headache dat ive had for two weeks now almost went away like 98%!! Thankyou thankyou thankyou!!
Just want to shout out a massive THANKS YOU from the UK. been suffering form obstical nausea for the last 18 month (on and off) with medication. Been looking for help for a while and found your video, 1 week on completing the exercises, WOW what a difference. You guys are great, keep the good work up 👍😋
Bob and brad your towel stretch has given me the same relief ive spent hundreds of dollars on physio appts has given me. Thank you so much from bottom of my heart.
Keep life simple. Doctors these days prescribe /use so much technology and medicines etc. Thank you both. I will try these exercises, I have on and off pain in my left eyeball increases in the evenings and nights. Reduces a bit after a shower and allows me to work most of the day. My computer posture needs to change. I will try that.
I just discovered your videos. I have suboccipital swelling that just appeared on a CT scan that was taken for a different purpose. I've had neck and lower back (advanced) degeneration for years and it's worse than ever. I am now dealing with my first headache ever and I'm now on day 6. I even went to the ER and they treated it as though it was a migraine. I already have an appointment scheduled with a chiropractor and a neurologist. What I really need instead of medication management are exercises! Some of them I've been doing and didn't realize they are a thing. Other techniques are new to me and I will be working on them. Thank you for what you are providing for therapy we can work on at home.
I have been suffering from Occipital Neuralgia for years. I figured out Posture from different activities, sleeping (Head and Neck Position and Posture), My friend told me that I was going to have neck problems looking at my Cellphone in the Position that I was. He was correct. I also drive with my arms up because of the design of my 2010 Ford Transit Connect. I have a lot of things to change. Thank you Bob and Brad as always you two are the Best. It'll save me from pain, taking off work, going to the Chiropractor and getting Acupuncture, and countless hours of TENS Unit Treatment. Thank you

I had this before in my 30s and early 40s wasn't sure what it was but looked it up as had it again, it's like a throbbing pain back right of head and pains right across my skull, I use computer a lot and slouch so thought it might be this, tried the exercises for only 5 mins and pain was gone. Now I know how to get rid of it, will need to sort my posture. Thanks again B&B!

I've been dealing with this very pain for close to three weeks, looked the symptoms up and came up with Ocipital Neuralgia. Did these exercises while watching and it instantly alleviated the pain. I've always had posture issues and mild mild degeneration. This is one more tool in the arsenal to keep a happy healthy body in my 60's.

I am so thankful for this video, I am one of the subscribers now :) again thank you and wish me luck on my exam.
I don’t have enough words for how much this video helped me! I figured my headaches and neck pain were a result of my TMD. But I spent 20 minutes and my neck and head are light years better!
On 8/30/18, I was walking my dog & decided to walk in a shaded area under a tree. There were lots of low lying branches on the tree, so I bent my head down to walk under it & WHAM, I slammed into the trunk of another tree. I hit the tree with such force that the leash flew out of my hand, my vision was affected IMMEDIATELY, my head (skull) hurt soooo bad, I staggered backwards & did all I could to stay upright. I drove to minor emergency as I knew something was wrong & they called an ambulance to transport me to the ER. CT scan was negative, but was diagnosed with a concussion. I had speech difficulties for 3 weeks, balance issues, fatigued/sleeping a LOT, sensitive to light, skull pain & burning. I've been in pain & out of work ever since - I just want some form of relief. On 10/1/18, went to my chiropractor & x-rays revealed swelling at base of neck & it was out of alignment. I watched this video tonight & tried the exercises - found relief with stretching the back of my neck. The pain of ON feels like I'm constantly being beat in the head with a baseball bat AND a 2x4 - it's pure hell! I pray this pain goes away as I can NOT imagine living with this forever! 10/3/18 @ 10:06P.
These guys aren't all correct. Its actually a TAC or trigeminal autonomic cephalgia aka CLUSTER headache. There are 2 types episodic and chronic. For better info check clusterbusters.org ouchUK for real neurologist MD based info these exercises can help but they do nothing to real sufferers like me who are chronic and never get a day off. I get 300-350 attacks a month. True standards of care other than adjunctive care are 1 high flow Oxygen @ a rate of 15-25Liters per minute. Aborts attack in minutes to 15+ depending on breathing techniques 2. Triptan injections, or nasal sprays. Problem is you only get 10-14 injections a month. Don't waste your time w triptan pills. They don't work for 99% of people with CH. THEY ALSO HAVE A NASTY ability to increase the intensity and frequency of attacks for some people. But if you're episodic and get once a year for a month or a few they can be life savers on important days or at work when no oxygen is available 3. Vitamin D protocol found at vitaminDwiki.com site is cheezy but the creator of this regiment is a honorable veteran in the navy and CH community. He has collected data on the protocol as he's tweeked it over the years and presents at conferences all over the world. It has given many of my friends their lives back. For me its real complicated. I process vitamin D at a lvl which suggests I have a genetic defect and I have to push my 25(OH)D3 level over 200 to get them to stop. So I have to let it burn down and can't stay cluster free. Its not just taking a lot of vitamin D. There are a few other co factors needed as well. The creators comments advice can be seen all over clusterheadaches.com (used to be active site) but I know him from clusterbusters. He goes by xxx now. Old user name was Batch. You will see a bunch of info adnauseum w the science to back it up to bring to your neurology apt everyone Should see one and get a head MRI. There is a similar headache caused by aneurysm in eye and optic nerve can be coiled.... And lastly the truly fascinating part Not to really be discussed of some CH facecrooks groups (there are 2 big ones) i don't do SM really but felt compelled to post this for the " smartest people talking about "suicide headaches" like there occipital nerve and posture "adjunctive " therapies are going to work just tics me off. Its not going to stop my hypothalamus from going haywire or my sphenopenalatine ganglion in my nose from causing them unless there is a stretch for that. Error at any rate the most promising thing for CH in my opinion is psychedelics! Yep I said it. Good old LSD (go to NIH.org ) there is a study in Basel Switzerland in phase 2 pt selection for 100mcg PHARMACEUTICAL LSD 3 doses usually a week apart is standard protocol for as we call it busting) there is a study that is to the best of my knowledge going to be published out of yale done at the VA in CT w psilocybin aka 🍄. Some people are anti drugs and have gone to extremes and done studies to have electrodes placed in their heads and not gotten any relief and finally turn to psychedelics. More research is needed We get rejected for orphan drug status at the FDA every time we go to the hill but they go every year and beg for special funding. I have been told there are roughly the same amount of people with MS as CH in this country and we get fractions of pennies with John's Hopkins opening the first psychedelic Institute about a year ago we are well on our way to some promising help for a lot of things... there is help out there for this horrible affliction my old handle at clusterbusters is freud or Freudian. You can find a lot of help on everything you will need to know. There is a list of doctors that actually know what the hell they are doing with this. And then some scam artists in South Africa claiming to cure it w micrivascular surgery. A hoax There is of course lastly Gamma knife. My least favorite but another promising tx down the road. And yes there is a new monoclonal antibody injection approved for episodic CH sufferers w mixed results but abandoned the Chronic arm of the study due to poor results. There are other tips tricks and drugs tried steroids are pushed but I have 2 friends that lost their hips to avascular necrosis from one round of steroids. Most of us have tried them I did when I was diagnosed. There are extreme options like xyrem look it up nasty drug hard to get but there are case studies w 4 pts. Lastly ketamine nasal spray for pain control during the most horrific attacks. Usually started at 50mg/ml strength and titrated up to 150mg/ml. Few Doctors write it and most reserve it for chronic patients that are uncontrolled. It is a controlled substance but a control 3 not 2 like pain killers. There is no amount of morphine that stops a CH from being a "suicide headache" many people have been put on every pain killer you can imagine only to end up w a drug addiction that was medically induced and Cluster headaches. I highly suggest since you're on RUclips already search "Bob Wold " the founder of clusterbusters and watch his lectures it will be life changing no offense Frick and frank. I used to practice in heart surgery this is not an attack but calling a TAC a occipital neuralgia isn't kosher. TlDR search web for clusterbusters RUclips for bob wold lecture And vitamindwiki

Thanks for the tennis ball trick, that one softens up the back of my neck and helps with a neck headache! Great. You are doing a great service to humanity. God bless you both with all prosperity and happiness and contentment in life. I have no words to express how useful have been your very practical tips.
Does anyone know how long to hold certain stretches, how many to do, and how many times per days, how many days per week these pt exercises should be done?
This is most helpful and stress-relieving to watch, thanks. I have a lot of tension at the base of my skull and in my neck and shoulder muscles and this seems to be a big contributing factor to my occipital neuralgia further up the skull. Can I please have some safety advice on use of the tennis balls, such as recommendations on application of pressure, whether they can be used on the bones or exclusively, the muscles and what not to do.
I am 70.I have recently had head trauma (a fall) leaving me with O.N..Each morning I awake with shocking head pains (as if I've had a bottle of whisky as a night-cap and someone has smashed me on the head with the empty bottle!.).I've noticed that tilting my head forward causes most of my pain.Effectively pillows leave your head tilting forward all night long therefore I have got rid of them.I now rest my head directly on the mattress. The pains have mostly gone.Don't do anything without seeing your doctor.
i used to have severe pain of this type, one great exercise was lying on bedon your back- with neck and head over the side , youll know the sweetspot part of your neck - just like with the tennisballs in the sock above, it takes all the weight and pain away.sweet relief.
This resonates with what I’ve been going through every single day 24/7 non stop since June 18, 2022, so almost 2 whole years now, but it’s not a headache, but it’s a burning sensation, tightness, pressure on my scalp/skull/brain that hasn’t let up in 23 months, stiffness and tension in the back of my neck!!! The same day this crap started way back then my eyes became severely dry (I already have had bad vision since birth and have been wearing glasses since I was 5 and contacts since I was 12) and have had severe pressure pain and burning behind my eyes which I’ve told my eye doctor and optometrist and optomologist, they continue to say I have Sjogeren’s disease, but when I explain my head situation they’re clueless as to what I’m talking about. The burning tightness pressure sensation doesn’t stop in the back of my head/scalp, it’s my enitre scalp. Neurologist have diagnosed me with Intercranial Idiopathic Hypertension. This shit has ruined my life for the almost past 2 years. I’m 38 years old and have lost everything I love. I’m a divorced mom and struggle to take care of my son thankfully before all this started we were already living with my parents, so they help me out a lot. I’m not able to work except from home. I had to put off finishing my 2nd degree I was working on, traveling with my son and family, friends, so much of my life has been put on hold due to this. I have to rely on my mom and dad to take me and my son places because of this feeling (I can’t say it’s pain because for me it’s not a headache, the only pain is in my eyes) . Doctors are no help. I’m due to go to Duke Hospital, a top Neurologist, but they can’t see me until November 😢.
Thanks so much, been having blinding headache from right base of skull/top of trap right through head back of eye, ear and skull every time I lift weights. Been doing a lot more computer work this week and feel these stretches helping immensely
I’ve had these types of headaches for years but not as often lately since I’ve improved my posture with chiropractic care. But when I do get them, they have me down for the count for sometimes 3 days. I will give these a try and also try to improve my posture even more. Love your channel!
Thanks so much - I’ve been suffering these exact symptoms after a Lumbar Puncture. The position the learner doctor put me in was in the foetal position tucked into a ball pulling my head downwards tightly with my chin tucked into my chest with a nurse pressing me down onto the bed on my hip and shoulder to keep me still. This was for 30min while she tried to find the correct position in my spine to extract fluid; she gave up after I exclaimed “I can feel that up in my shoulder blade” to which she put the needle down and said to the nurse “I’m getting the registrar” then he came in repositioned me sitting up on the edge of the bed with my knees tucked as if doing a bomb dive and it only took him 7min from prep to full extraction of the fluid. THANK YOU so much for this video; as you say my mind had been racing thinking why I was getting pains in the exact spots you mentioned. Even though I knew it was nothing sinister due to the fact I’ve had 2 x MRI, CT scan, 2x LP, X Ray, EEG, blood tests, anti-viral and anti-biotic medications due to a rare case (they say most likely under diagnosed) of a syndrome called HaNDL which is a self eliminating condition.
Thank you for the towel one, I’ll be doing this everyday because it let out so much pressure so now I’m gonna get some ice and ice my neck, Tylenol is killing my organs and I’m getting nauseous from it so I can’t take that anymore

Thank you for this helpful video!
Thank you so much!
Hey I basically have the same except the pain behind the eyes, you know any solution to that?
@@gilbertogarcia9435 Coconut water has been amazing for me with these kinds of headaches! I had my brother try it as well bc he also got really bad migraines like these and both of us feel relief within minutes! Coconut is anti-inflammatory as well as has nutrients that many people with migraines or other bad headaches are deficient in. Drinking coconut water has been so wonderful for me!
How bad was your pain in your eyes unfortunately the pain is in both of my eyes but I swaps sides aswell, I will definitely try the coconut water

Just want to shout out a massive THANKS YOU from the UK. been suffering form obstical nausea for the last 18 month (on and off) with medication. Been looking for help for a while and found your video, 1 week on completing the exercises, WOW what a difference. You guys are great, keep the good work up 👍😋
Brilliant. God bless you guys. This practical stuff is so much vastly better than the twaddle we get from doctors here in UK.
Bob and brad your towel stretch has given me the same relief ive spent hundreds of dollars on physio appts has given me. Thank you so much from bottom of my heart.
Day 4 of pain behind my eyes...even the light is too bright. Thanks for the tips. Your tips helped with a pinched nerve some months ago.

Thank you for what you are providing for therapy we can work on at home.
bob and brad are LEGENDS!!! they should be protected at all costs.
These guys are changing lives. Thank you so much even if this doesn't work it gives me hope that its still being taken seriously
Thank you
Hey you two...your tricks gave me immediate relief.
Your humor is great and it's good therapy on it's own.
Great job you are doing

I had this before in my 30s and early 40s wasn't sure what it was but looked it up as had it again, it's like a throbbing pain back right of head and pains right across my skull, I use computer a lot and slouch so thought it might be this, tried the exercises for only 5 mins and pain was gone. Now I know how to get rid of it, will need to sort my posture. Thanks again B&B!
😶 I am speechless, I had this pain for 2 years and all treatment were indicating on surgery of anesthesia treatment that I obviously didn't want, I tried this and this did miracle for me, Thank You 🙏.
Me too having this pain for about 2 years but still I didn't relieve from this really it's hurting so much and being stressed
I am suffering terribly with headaches. Triptans work, but only allowed 6 days a month. Going to try these. Thank you. Thank you.
OMG!! Been having this pain the last 12 days !! Removed my pillow , stretched my neck, did the exercises from my bed and massaged my neck all while watching this video !! And found instant relief from this horrible neck, head and eye pain I’ve been having.. wow I will continue to practice these methods daily !! Thank you guys ❤️🥲

I have been in pain for weeks, thinking it was a pinched nerve in my neck, after some research, I realized what it was and quickly went to Brad and Bob. This video offered me so much relief. Thanks again for your wonderful video!!!

I have an exam coming up today, and my head so bad hurting. I was getting like an electrical shock on both sides of my head. I was mostly worried because I feel like the is something going wrong in my brain. Now, I came to this video after crying for an hour. It is very helpful, and I am getting better. I am so thankful for this video, I am one of the subscribers now :) again thank you and wish me luck on my exam.
Did you ever experience pain behind your eyes too cause I also had shocks around my head every single day?
Thank you! This is gonna save my life! 💚
Thank you so much! I am diagnosed with Arnold chiari malformation and have developed occipital neuralgia
I don’t have enough words for how much this video helped me! I figured my headaches and neck pain were a result of my TMD. But I spent 20 minutes and my neck and head are light years better!
Thanks for relief and hope. Your banter is cheerful and encouraging.
Any improvements?
Better now?
Thanks for shsring
These guys aren't all correct. Its actually a TAC or trigeminal autonomic cephalgia aka CLUSTER headache. There are 2 types episodic and chronic. For better info check clusterbusters.org ouchUK for real neurologist MD based info these exercises can help but they do nothing to real sufferers like me who are chronic and never get a day off. I get 300-350 attacks a month. True standards of care other than adjunctive care are
1 high flow Oxygen @ a rate of 15-25Liters per minute. Aborts attack in minutes to 15+ depending on breathing techniques
2. Triptan injections, or nasal sprays. Problem is you only get 10-14 injections a month. Don't waste your time w triptan pills. They don't work for 99% of people with CH. THEY ALSO HAVE A NASTY ability to increase the intensity and frequency of attacks for some people. But if you're episodic and get once a year for a month or a few they can be life savers on important days or at work when no oxygen is available
A hoax
There is of course lastly Gamma knife.

Thank you - that was really helpful. As I started doing the exercises, I noticed a HUGE difference. And I am more aware of my posture & how it aggravates this type of pain.
Thank you for your videos. I somehow enjoy them though I do not need right now all the great things you know. The Human Body is a great gift.
My physio has diagnosed me with cervicogenic headaches but I'm 99% convinced i have occipital nearalgia as i have all the problems and symptoms you spoke about
I have scoliosis and am 70 years old. After retirement (working in a bank) I now feel these sensations like in my brain like pricking or electrical pinches. I’m going to try your techniques. Thank you
I ll be forever grateful
Thanks for the tennis ball trick, that one softens up the back of my neck and helps with a neck headache! The tennis ball did not seem to do too much for my back below the neck, but it seems to work well for the neck! I am glad that I stayed until the end of the video when you slipped in the winner!
Thanks for sharing Brad & Bob, I'll catch up with y'all later until then work on your broken heart healing research or you can just read Isaiah
Thank you for sharing. I will start my exercises today and keep you updated.
I was having a headache wow doing what you are doing in this video it's gone. Thank you.

Ive benefited by several of your vids.
Thank you sir i have some idea to fix this problem now
All I can say is thank u 🥲
I am 70.I have recently had head trauma (a fall) leaving me with O.N..Each morning I awake with shocking head pains (as if I've had a bottle of whisky as a night-cap and someone has smashed me on the head with the empty bottle!.).I've noticed that tilting my head forward causes most of my pain.Effectively pillows leave your head tilting forward all night long therefore I have got rid of them.I now rest my head directly on the mattress. The pains have mostly gone.Don't do anything without seeing your doctor.
You guys are the best. Finally got rid of my headaches.

Thanks, I did ease my pain a little.
Oh my!! This Pain was,,is so horrible .!! Thank you

Please do a video about Burning Scalp Syndrome. You guys are so helpful and I trust your wisdom. Thank you.
