VOB live sounds like a 6 member band. Incredible sound. Liliac does Metal covers as good if not better than the original bands themselves. The Warning is the best band I have seen in 40 years. Dany is the new rockstar of this generation. Musical geniuses.

It was not a coincidence.
The head vibe is not so much inspired by The Exorcist but by Jacob's Ladder. That was the first movie that used cranked camera to show spooky head movements at different speeds in a single shot.

A big difference in these bands is songwriting ability. Even though these are just covers, you can tell which band has the songwriting chops. VOB gets an honorable mention from me...they are awesome.

Not taking anything away from all the other bands because they all did a pretty good job. However, The Warning is the only band that did something completely different to Enter Sandman. There is a reason that their reimaging of the song is the first track on the Black List Album. Metallica loves The Warning's rendition! The Warning doesn't have any issue with Liliac. Liliac seems to have an issue with The Warning
I've personally listened to all 53 covers from the Blacklist album and for the most part it was not a fun experience. Metallica had given the artists invited carte blanche and specifically asked for them to not do a straight cover, and most of the artists, almost all of them well established, did not dare go there and still did pretty much straight covers, with a different guitar tone and vocals, but 3 girls from Mexico at 21, 19 & 16 years old went for brass and came up with this, which to me is the best cover of the whole album.
I concur. There are 2 or 3 other covers of other songs that are ok on the album, but none anywhere near what Alessia and TW did 🤘🏻. As a non-Metallica fan, I love this version!
👍I was going to buy the Blacklist Album because it was for charity, but TW track was the only one I cared to listen to again.
And they only had 2 weeks to come up with there version. Before they had to record it for the album

Funny how you said some people WANT you speechless😂. You got it right about Dany. Though all three are jewels in the set, Dany is the rockstar in the forefront. Another example is if you see her two performances at the VMAs, her posture AFTER the songs end is her rockstar persona. Different from the Dany we see behind the scenes. The giddy, the jokester, the embodiment of the most carefree joyful person without an emotional burden compared to the focused, driven, aggressive, in-your-face but simultaneously party-likeable person that draws you in like a magnet with her steel of an audience and stealing our souls she certainly does. One difference with her is though is in-between songs she’s still the same off-stage Dany just more direct cuz of necessity of time without sacrifice of sincerity. ⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️

Honestly, I think Liliac tied The Warning by adding a metal edge that I very much enjoy BUT, I must say this about TW - it's not about the size of the band, but the harmony they create. Like a small ensemble that plays with heart, they can win over any audience. ⚡️🔥🤟

Lilliac has had a new drummer for about a year. the old one said she was taking a leave to get married and has not returned yet. Lzzy Hale, Matt Bellamy, Dave Draiman among others have said the Warning is the future of Rock n Roll

The Warning were invited with Alessia Cara by Metallica for the Blacklist album (30th anniversary of The Black album). Their live version is actually superior (IMO) than the studio version. NOT done for attention - just saying
The melodic rock version of The Warning and Alessia Cara wins hands down!!! I was fortunate to be a teenager in the years 1976-1982 and to be exposed to the voices of Pat Benetar and Ann Wilson (Heart) by regularly listening to the radio... both having powerful female voices but very melodic and pleasant, singing over several octaves. For me, The Warning's rock compositions always have very beautiful, very interesting and memorable melodic lines. Their vocal harmonies, Danny's magnificent voice with all its nuances that I really appreciate make this trio of extra-talented young sisters easily stand out from other groups of the same genre.

All the controversy came because Melody (Liliac lead singer), said that The Warning were good enough to open for them😂.
The girls of The Warning themselves never said a word about, but The Warning Army never forgave Liliac for that.
The blowback was so big for Liliac that Melody and the whole band made a public apology about. No band needs The Warning Army as foe😂.
Even today many of The Warning fans avoid listen to Liliac because that.
The girls of the Warning remained silent about the whole time.
That's the whole story about this controversy.

The Warning and VOB are in a different league than the other bands. VOB is playing Glastonbury and The Warning is playing Wakken this summer. Plus The Warning sold out a 10,000 seat theatre in 24 hours. None of these other bands are anywhere close in terms of talent or stature.

On a slightly different topic, I saw yesterday that The Warning broke a hit into the Top 10 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. S!CK moved from #11 to #8. So, yeah, Dany, Pau, and Ale are bonafide Rockstars.

I hope you get a chance to see The Warning's Enter Sandman from Teatro Metropolitan. It is a sight to see!
They are all good versions, there is talent in all the members of each band, but from my point of view only one band took the risk of deconstructing and remaking a song that is a rock icon to create their own version without losing the essence of the original. . The other bands did not take risks when making their versions.
If you mean the Warning, you're all the way wrong when you say "without losing the essence of the original". You're right that it's a good remake of the song, but the essence is forever lost, no agressivity, no madness to it, no rage, it's way too soft to compare it to the original's essence.
Well, their cover is a result of being asked by Metallica to remake the song - none of the other bands had that experience. Doubt they would have done as good, but it is apples and oranges.
@@ghislainsimoneau1817 Actually its probably closer to Hetfield's original idea for the song that became the Enter Sandman we know (not musically, but tonally) so I say the essence of the original is still there. And the final 30 seconds is the homage to Black's ES.

Dany is one of the greatest front woman/man that I've ever seen. When she's having fun, she lets you know to such a degree that you can't help but enjoy the ride. Over the last maybe 10 years, I wondered how a rock band would light the world on fire again as mostly everything Rock related was either really old, or it just lacked the depth and the attitude. I know you don't like GnR, but it's hard to say their energy, specially in a time of endless hair bands and boring music, wasn't what made them as big as they became. They felt dangerous and the response to how different they were from most bands was huge. So I wondered lately who would carry that torch moving forward as I just don't see that kind of energy anymore. Well, 3 sisters from Mexico answered my question, and they were nothing like what I thought the next big thing in rock would be like and what would be needed to bring them to the forefront. They share very little with Rockers of yesterday; they are sweet, they are humble, they are hard working and don't need additives to do their thing. They are everything I wanted in rock, but so much more that I didn't realize I would love. May they rock this planet until they are so old, they can no longer hold themselves up. Maybe I won't always love their music as their tastes grow and change, but I will always appreciate them for making me feel like I was 15 again listening to music I love. Thanks for the reaction!

I was so happy to see you had VOB and Liliac on - I missed that you were familiar with Liliac. I was also surprised that you did like the remake of ES that The Warning and Alessia created, but I guess I did not realize your tastes as much as I thought - your explanation at the end was helpful - others will fill you in on the back story, I find it just amazing what they did in a short time frame, working remote, collaborating for the first time.

Some great versions here! Sadly the awesomely entertaining drummer from liliac left the band when she got married. Liliac is an excellent band full of talent…. I just don’t like their songwriting. And i stand by my opinion that the warning army in general reacted wrong to melody’s funny competitive joke in the spirit of rock n roll. Sometimes some members of the warning army can behave very strangely…. I think it might be over protectiveness. I’m twa but also a professional musician and that sort of competition is good natured ribbing. Anyway, this was an awesome video you put together!!!
FYI, Abigail's departure was only temporary. She will be back touring with the band starting June 8th, 3 days from today.

They aren't up to DPA level of writing, but I loved Sail away and Nothing. They have more of a metal sound to me, and I prefer straight up rock, so TW is my jam. Also TW just always surprises me with things I wouldn't think I'd like, but with their touch, I end up loving them.

I think TWA (which I am part of) have taken it too far.
Liliac were fans of The Warning from long before that, even taking part at a barbecue of the fans of The Warning a day before a show.
I think Liliac have a huge potential. They should, to my opinion, change 2 things:
1) Stop exaggerating their movements on stage. It seems artificial.
2) Stop doing covers. I think they are matured and experienced enough with an enough big fan base to go only with their originals. They have some great original songs.
Liliac , VOB and The Warning have been getting popularity by covering Enter Sandman. VOB is much more inspired by RATM, SOAD and Flea RHCP so there is hip and funky element in their music color. Enjoyed this reaction - agree about The Warning version - it's almost it's own song, although I do prefer their performance of it live without Alisia Cara at Teatro Metropolitan. I've followed Haloscene for a couple of years now, and they mostly did covers, but have toured with their own material since. I like their version featuring the additional female singers, Violet and Lauren (Lauren Babic is lead singer for another band I watch sometimes called Red Handed Denial). 🤘

Some good performances. But these are basically cover bands. The only one going anywhere are The Warning and--to a lesser extent--Voice of Baceprot.
VOB is the best band for Metalica Cover. Its live performance with faster tempo, great energy, talents and interaction. Check their, SOAD, Sepultura, Bestie Boys and RATM it will blow your mind.

I watched because of VOB, Vampire Bat & that little drummer who scares the crap out of me.
This *"SO CALLED CONTEST" IS BETWEEN THE FIRST FOUR VIDEOS.*

Those four bands did an *Enter Sandman* & did their own twist & turns for their cover.*
But The Warning with Alessia Cara's cover was asked by Metallica to take the song assigned to them and do what they want. *ONE EXCEPTION: THEY COULDN'T THE LYRICS.* 50 plus arists participated in the 2021 Metallica's Blacklist Album for charity. Majority of this 4 cd / vinyl set are straight up covers. The Warning took a different route.

From the moment The Warning agreed to participate, they had a week to deliver the song... it's unbelievable.

Agree with the other commenters here that The Warning’s live performance is superior to the studio version (with the caveat that Pau doesn’t do the prayer in the middle, which I agree is a really nice touch in this one). But honestly that’s also true of every single song they do; they’re a live performance band, not a studio band.
Also agree with you about how The Warning brought out the subtleties in this song. Too many bands only know how to turn up the volume to 10 and leave it there, they rebuilt this song to give it actual progression.

The lack of a bass kills the first cover for me. Liliac is really good especially for how young they are. But their music always sounds "produced." VOB cover is the best. Great musicianship. Live performance. Barrier breakers.

Halocene has good humor, and great instrumentation, but they need a great lead singer, not three vomiting backups. First to Eleven has some fawnky accents going on. It is a pretty straight cover. I like the prayer. The McDonalds manager does need to change his shirt... VOB reminds me of The Warning in 2014, but with more distortion. Not a fan of the constant thudding. The improv with the slap bass is cool, though. Lilliac are new to me. I like what they did here. I'm not really sure why they need so many instruments to do it, and the mix is muffled, but it IS metal. I'd love less bass and more bite and level on the guitar. Tie with Metallica is fair. Vocalist probably needs a throat lozenge or three after that! The Warning are just in a different world here. They took good lyrics and elements of the original song, and COMPLETELY reimagined what could be done with them. That took some serious musical chops, collaborative spirit, and taste. Pau's prayer is a goose-bump inducing interlude. The heavenly harmonies that follow and lead into a raucous chorus are amazing. I don't even think the ending homage to Metallica is needed, but it is fun, especially in the live version. That they did this within a ten day window during the height of the pandemic is amazing.
Liliac's singer Melody has a brilliant voice.. it's my opinion that she's waisting her talent these days on Cover's and so-so Original music..The drummer Abigail is no longer on tour. She is returning, for how long who knows. Alessia Cara was projected on the wall because of Covid travel restrictions, they couldn't be together..The Warning is on a different level..the contest was not fair for the other group's. The Warning is just so different from other bands. It's funny to me to see the change in you Rob, concerning Dany & Pau..At first, Pau was the "one". She always is, for everyone, but the more you watch Dany, the more ya fall in love with her "everyone"does..Next month it Could be Ale.. "The Goddess of Thunder ✌️

I'm a TW fan, but I've never heard of Liliac, so I don't know how I could hate them. 😀 Their cover sounded great, so not sure why anyone would hate them. I followed the links Rob provided to get to their web site and see they are another family band. That's awesome.

Don’t disagree with your conclusions. The first 2 were well done, but basically straightforward covers of the original except with female vocalists. I really like VOB though admittedly vocals are their weak point; however what their lead singer lacks in range, she more than makes up for in enthusiasm. As a longtime TWA fan and Patreon, and someone who has also supported Liliac financially, I have often been embarrassed by the back and forth hate that has sometimes occurred by members of both fandoms. Rock music isn’t a contest and rock music fans should hope for both young bands to succeed. The only thing I would disagree with Rob on, is that I prefer Liliac’s more toned down current stage performing style to their earlier, choreographed hair-twirling, etc. style which to me evoked visions of This Is Spinal Tap. 😎👍
