  • I apologize for the extra ads in this video... Apparently, this video DID MONETIZE??? This is the first time I've seen a large band video monetize in a month of recording 2 to 3 reactions a day. If we find a lot of monetization come in through this I will reach out to The Warning and offer them part of the monetization. I admit I am very thankful for the monetization if we get it, BUT, as I say in our video we don't deserve monetization because it's not our original content. We do not try to "FAKE" the system to get monetization. If we are denied, which 95% of the time we are, we willingly accept that and keep that video demonetized. We will keep this monetized until it becomes rejected (it is VERY likely that will happen, and happen very quickly.)

These young ladies have everything going for them. They write and compose their own music. The creative genius is mostly Paulina (Pau) the Drummer and Singer, as she writes most of the lyrics and music, but is accompanied by her sisters as a joint effort. Daniela (Dany) the Guitarist is a tremendous singer and great guitarist, plus a fantastic lead person for the group. Alejandra (Ale) the Bassist and vocals is the tempo and time keeper with clocklike precision. All three are classically trained on the piano and are amazingly talented. Off stage they are extremely family oriented with very modest interests but huge fans of video games and are hysterically funny while playing them.

Pau may contribute most of the lyrics but she doesn't write most of the music. She's prolific at coming up with a lot of melodic ideas. But Dany and Ale bring in ideas as well, they might be riffs or chord progressions, vocal lines, etc. All three band members share, discard, shape and arrange those ideas to build a song. So, the songs are composed by all three members in most cases. :) I know there are a few exceptions were a song was completed by one member, for example Pau's "Breathe" or Dany's "Crimson Queen."

There are videos of Ale singing lead on Hunter and Red Hands Hands Never Fade. She has the widest range of the three of them, but really doesn't like to sing lead. In harmonies, she'll take either the lower note, or a falsetto. The other two naturally grab the spotlight, but Ale is a monster musician. She was amazing at 12 years old.

    • @LegacyStudio
      @LegacyStudio  7 месяцев назад +3

That was the vibe I got out of her. She's very expressive behind her bass when she isn't singing so my knee jerk reaction is that would be her preference over singing.

This is a from DPA , Dany has largest range lower and higher and lots of grit in her voice than her sisters then Ale has next biggest range but her sweet spot is her lower range as her voice is huskier or silky or sexy but she also is really good at falsetto , Pau has smallest range but her entire range is a sweet spot and has a more raspy voice when they combine it's magic.

So Ale, the bassist, has a lower voice than the others. She principaly does backing vocals but will sing lead when Dany, the guitarist, needs a rest or is sick. These are rare occurrences. Ale hates singing lead. Fun story about the prayer - It was initially done by Ale who was nine years old during their 2014 cover that launched their career. In 2021 when they recorded the studio version and music video of this reimagination, Ale was recovering from wisdom teeth surgery so Pau, the drummer, did it. But then for live concerts Pau said that the prayer and the drumming are not on the same beat so Dany now does it live.

They were asked by Metallica to put their own twist on this song, so they collaborated with Alessia Cara (Canadian vocalist) - the only condition was that they didn't change the lyrics.
It is now track #1 on "The Metallica Blacklist" album - a tribute album featuring various artists to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Metallica's "Black" album released in August 1991. So, quite a privilege and an honour for The Warning right there! A big hello from the UK. 👋

By all accounts Metallica was very pleased with the results. My favorite version of the song for sure.

As 'covers' go, this has got to be one of the best freakin' covers in rock history. Carlos Santana's cover of 'Black Magic Woman' (Peter Green's creation) is up near the top ... this one's a close second, in my humble opinion ... Their Sibling Dynamic puts them on another level, especially in the vocal harmonies and timing.
We've been 'Warned' by, perhaps, "The Best Hard Rock Power Trio of the 21st Century" ... Heed `The Warning'!!!

@@LegacyStudio As a big fan of the Warning I'm a part of TWA - The Warning Army (fanbase all over the world). It's always interesting to watch a new reactor discovering the 3 sisters for the 1st time. Even if they are still young there are on the road since a long time. They start the band 10 years ago, when they were children. It's a part of the explanation why they are so professional on stage. They already have a deep catalogue with about 50 originals, so there is a lot of material to watch and analyse for you. All the performances from Teatro Metropolitan are interesting: Animosity, Choke, Disciple, Error ... from their last album, but also some tunes from older albums like Dull Knives, Queen of the murder seen for example. Thanks again for your 1st reaction and enjoy your new journey with The Warning, Gilles (sorry for my bad english)

There were no hard feelings from Metallica on this version. It happened at their request. They put out invitations to various singers and bands to re-imagine songs from their Black album. The results became Metallica's Black List album. A slightly different version of this cover (with soft/sweet singing by Alessia Cara) is the first song on the album.

LOL, after all that trigger warning about pauses, you watched it all the way through the first time without a pause. Actually like the way you do it listening thru the first time, and then breaking it down the 2nd listen. Not sure if you were aware but Metallica actually invited The Warning in collaboration with Canadian pop singer Alessia Cara (whose high “Whoa, oh,oh ohs” you hear at times on a backing track) to provide a cover for their Blacklist album commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album, and gave specific instructions to make the song their own. Very few of the 53 artists/bands invited went as far as The Warning. 😎👍

Yeah it’s an amazing re-imagined version of the classic which Metallica absolutely approved of, it’s the #1 track on the Blacklist album!
Alessia Cara was originally approached for this song but she wasn’t getting anywhere so being as her management is the same as The Warning they introduced them to her and Metallica was asked if it would be OK, seal of approval wasn’t long coming at all but they were only left with only 10 days to do the whole thing and get Metallica’s approval! Bear it in mind that all of the collaboration was done online because we were in lockdown and Alessia was in Canada and they were in Mexico!

No. Pau sings high harmonies throughout the entire song. That's Pau's voice, plain and simple. The high harmonies are the same voice throughout the entire song. At 2:50 high harmonies are being sung while Ale is not near her mic. At 3:31 Ale begins singing low harmonies. At 3:46 Pau begins her high harmonies while Ale continues low harmonies. At 4:08 you can clearly hear all three voices. At 4:20 the high harmonies continue while Ale is not near near her mic. Just because the camera is on Ale when some of the high harmonies are being sung doesn't mean it's Ale singing. If that were the case, that would mean Ale is singing the prayer at 3:24.

I totally agree, sometimes a cover is better than the original.
There are covers that just redo the original, maybe with a tiny twist, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Aerosmith and Godsmack's cover of "Come Together", Guns n Roses cover of "Live and Let Die" and Def Leppard's cover of "No Matter What" are examples.
Now this, Disturbed's covers of " Sound of Silence" and "Land of Confusion" and Jimi Hendrix's cover of "All Along the Watchtower" stand on their own.

DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment!
Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice.
in the OMV, Dany and Alessia share the lead vocals until they are in the three doorways when Dany takes over and Alessia does more of the background oooohs and aaaahs... the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale and Pau join in with their angelic harmonies in both... this is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹

Great review. I really enjoyed it. Ale's voice can often sound almost identical to Dany's. She has a more.. sultry... voice, for lack of a better term, and usually sings the low end harmonies, under Dany and Pau's leads. She also has a very beautiful falsetto, which you can hear in the official music video from Enter Sandman, and sometimes puts a little harmony on top. It's really cool in this performance, when she takes Dany's spot, while Dany sings up high. She does something similar in their new, unreleased song, Hell You Call a Dream.
The Warning, themselves, are known to work with the reaction community. They know that their success was really launched and is promoted and helped by social media. Their label isn't super terrible, but they are industry types, at the end of the day, and they have a distributor that does what distribution services do. Their label knows that the band has a huge presence on social media and they don't seem overly aggressive at going after fair use channels. Overall, I'm not surprised that they didn't claim monetization on this particular video, because they don't own the rights to the song lyrics- Metallica does and they donated all proceeds from the Blacklist album to charity, which is probably why there isn't a watchdog looking for it. I'm not privy to the details of their contract with the band, but it is likely that they don't own the rights to their performances of music outside of their 5 album production contract. Just speculation, of course. I suppose the takeaway is that The Warning are pretty fond of their fans and reactions, in general, so, if something does get claimed, it's probably something in the orbit that's prompting it - not the band.

    Excellent reaction, analysis and opinion.
Daniela, Paulina y Alejandra have a formidable innate talent, each one of them. Innate but with practice taken to the sublime.
Despite their youth, they already have a lot of experience along the way in addition to their great preparation since they were little.
Their attitude, discipline and willingness to achieve their goals are leading them to great and well-deserved achievements.
Dany, Pau & Ale are still on the path to the top, but with too much potential, enough to think that reaching it will be inevitable.
Furthermore, the volume of quality that each of their creations implies is great… and the number of songs that carry said quality is enormous, which for me could be “The Warning label.”
I’m sure that each of their creations is subjected to a meticulous quality process before finally seeing the light…
And not only in the technical aspect, but they have also already shown that they have an exquisite taste for the good music that emanates from them when they become inspired and creative.
Added to all this is that they are surrounded by an excellent family and a fraternal team totally committed to their project...
And they have a fan base, “The Warning Army”, tremendously loyal to them that is decisively involved in supporting them because they have deservedly earned it for being incredible and surprising human beings.
Knowing this will give you a much better perspective to better value DPA, and maybe you will understand that TW is not just a band of talented young women who make good songs...
No, it is about music, really about art with the brilliance of a "masterpiece" created and performed by three genius female performers from an early age who have been developing and evolving by leaps and bounds.
The beauty of his art lies in its simplicity.
You have to appreciate each of these amazing rock masterpieces in all their dimensions and then be surprised again that they are creations of those who have wonderful talent but who, due to their age, still have much more talent to develop.
DPA are already admirable but their potential increases exponentially as they achieve success.
As long as all this continues to flow with this equation, soon they will reach the top of the world where they deserve to be.
Thanks and regards from México!! 🇲🇽

In general I find covers hit or miss. There's the occasional Radar Love (Golden Earring covered by White Lion) or Cat's in the Cradle (Harry Chapin covered by Ugly Kid Joe) that I like the cover better, but more often than not I feel like they either don't have the depth of the original or they change the tone so completely that it feels like a pale imitation at best. This one was really good though! I don't like it quite as much as the Metallica original, but the quality is really good, the girls definitely skillful, and it pays homage to the original in all the right ways.

Enjoyed your reaction! I agree...the original by Metallica is a classic, and The Warning couldn't have made their version without it, but The Warning's version is better music. Also, I think the term you were looking for to describe Dany's voice on certain phrases is "vocal fry." Looking forward to your next reaction!

'These girls are Absolutely talented way beyond their years. The song that is on the Metallica Black Album that has Alessia Cara, on it is the first track on their album. You should watch the music video, When they were asked it was during the pandemic. So Alessia had to stay in Canada. They had a week to complete it. Pau was voted the best up and coming drummer for 2023.

OK - to start off with I watched somewhere between 30 and 40 reaction videos to Enter Sandman (at Teatro Met 2022) over 2 nights (about 8 hours) 3 weeks ago and somehow I missed yours :( - note I watched a shagload of reaction vids to The Warning over 3 weeks, usually in song blocks.
Then your reaction to Animosity (Teatro Met 2022) turned up on my feed so I had to have a gander. I then watched your Dust to Dust (Teatro Met 2022) reaction on on the side was your ES (Teatro Met 2022) reaction - and this sold me so I've subbed.
There is so much from Teatro Met 2022 to delve into (and the Lunario 2018 Queen of the Murder Scene (QotMS) concept album full release) that you could be going for months on those alone. Their live performances totally outshine their studio videos - you see everything (you might not hear everything but you definitely see everything) and the one take away from that is . . this band is best seen live.
Onto your reaction - an iconic song and most likely mentioned throughout the comments by TWA, part of Metallica's Blacklist album with Alessia Cara so I won't go into that as I don't think I need to. The fact that they reversed the intro and outro, made it slower and more meaningful, and then added such gorgeous harmonies (and that showed on your face) made this not a cover, but their own song. Even your 'Brutal' second viewing and analysis showed that . . . there's nothing to criticise - everything is where its meant to be, the way its meant to be, and again, your face with those gorgeous harmonies. The best part, however, is that you 'now' play the song through with minimal stops, and then do a 2nd playthrough analysis - which is an awesome way of doing it.
Both Dany (guitar) and Pau (drummer) say that Ale's falsetto is the best of the 3, and you hear it all over the place in their songs. Her deep register (listen to your left ear because they split backing vocals) on the 1st 'Hush little baby . . . ' part is just there and once you've isolated it, you can hear her in virtually any other tracks (especially from this concert). The 2nd 'Hush little baby...', she matches Dany's voice with Pau doing the higher register. And the 3rd (and I am 99% sure on this based on how she addresses the mic, rising up and breathing in) she is the higher register. If you do 'Choke' from the same concert, Ale takes the mic herself for a small solo vocal performance.
Both Dany and Pau's voices are incredible (Dust to Dust reintroduced me to them after watching younger days covering Foo Fighters etc and then getting sidetracked by so much good music available nowadays. But The Warning is the 1st and only band that has caused me to go through multiple reactions (and subbing to those I deem offer something other than 'love this' and that is all) If you want to learn more about terms etc, I recommend another reactor - Fil from 'Wings of Pegasus' - this guy has helped me understand so much about music (and he's a The Warning fan as well, seeing them live and interviewing them on his channel) and/or Offset Era (2 members of a trio from Florida).
I look forward to watching some more of your reactions down the track :)
    Cheers from Oz (Australia)

New sub…enjoy your analysis and breakdowns.
As I’ve seen in other comments, Dany commands the audience, Pau commands the show, and Ale provides the glue that holds it all together. They create quite the synergy together.

I am with you. I also think this version is supreme over Metallica´s original! A little side note about Ale. She pretty much lives in her Bass cocoon and is a integrated part of the complete set. But every time it is time to deliver a bass jolt, she takes half a step forward and kicks the bass upp in the air with her right knee! This is what makes it extra fun to watch The Warning perform. All three of them have special quirks or things they do to make it a multiverse of happenings. It is impossible to only look on only one. Great reaction!

Hey dude! New sub here. All three sisters have Alto voices. And yes, Ale (Bass) sounds like a cross between her sisters, but smoother and softer. Dany (Lead and guitar) has a more powerful, and brighter voice than her sisters. Typically Ale will sing the same notes as Dany, only an octave lower. Pau (drums) will sing the harmony, either higher or lower than Dany's lead part. Pau has a Broadway belter type voice with a slight natural rasp. As they have matured Dany and Pau have both developed their voices to be able to do a very wide range of styles. And having heard two of their newest songs, it seems Dany is going to do more solo type vocals and Ale will sing the melody and Pau will sing harmony. So much talent, it's scary. They are already this good and still, only 23, 21 and 19 years old.

    Better covers?
Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
    Sinead O'Conner - Nothing Compares to U
    Johnny Cash - Hurt
    Beatles - Twist and Shout
    Muse - Feelin' Good
    G&R - Live & Let Die
This version of ES, however, is a total reimagine. I have loved it since the first time I heard it. I think this version really IS their song now (akin to what Cash did with 'Hurt').

This is the harder live version. They do have Alessia Cara on a backing track. If you want to hear Alessia Cara and a lighter more haunting version ruclips.net/video/9tKQgesCcTc/видео.html I do love both.
Ale the Base player doesn't like singing lead. She does mainly harmonies with a few backing vocal's, which she can be heard on. When she does do lead it is usually to help out one of her sisters when they have a problem. The only issue is that it is last minute so there was no sound check and her mick is normally at a lower volume sadly. On this occasion Dany was felling sick and was struggling a little with her vocals. ruclips.net/video/yAilhsEq_24/видео.html

This is obviously a huge song so there is a real incentive to include it in their playlist, but I'm over it as a Warning fan. There just isn't enough for the bass and drums to do in this song. Similar to When I'm Alone, they have to work a lot to not look bored.
