I love seeing someone play stuff like this on a guitar that some would probably say isn't "ideal" for this style of music. Just goes to show how much practice and determination will help you achieve any goal regardless of what gear you're rocking. Badass cover, man 🔥 You've earned a new fan and subscriber with this one.
You have to commend anyone willing to take on a Periphery song, let alone a one-take, amazing playing man. Maybe one of these decades I will dream of tackling their music lol.
I highly recommend learning Facepalm Mute because it's by far the easiest Periphery song imo, but it still has some little tricks to it. It makes you feel cool to finally learn something from them and that in turn can snowball into the confidence to start trying out their other material.
@@DJENTISNTNOTAGENRE I’d like to add Heavy Heart and The Way The News Goes to this also for the same reasons! All include very Periphery like techniques and tricks they use and are also great songs! Also Scarlet if you want something a bit more up tempo! 🤘🏼 enjoy!
@@jonnyb2020 Heavy Heart and Scarlet are good ones that are a little easier like Facepalm Mute is, but I wouldn't say the same for The Way The News Goes because that one is hard as hell to play correctly lol. Especially that clean intro/verse riff Mark wrote 😳 Definitely an awesome song to learn once someone is at that skill level, though, and one of my favorite Periphery songs in general!
@@jonnyb2020 I've never even attempted to learn it lol. I can only imagine how badass it feels to get that song down! Honestly, the hardest Periphery song I've ever learned is probably Chvrch Bvrner and that's not even close to being as hard as a lot of their other songs imo 😆 As far as hybrid picking goes, the song that taught me that technique was the intro/chorus riff of Song of Solomon by Animals As Leaders.
I've tried, I've covered the breakdown as a short since I felt like I was able to do that almost spot-on, but the whole song is really tough to play clean, the problem is especially the second verse where they begin doing little runs on the main riff
Geez, that Periphery track reached Meshuggah level technicality different places in the track, totally mind-blowing, and still a very cool and groovy song, especially the choruses. This one must have been a tough nut to crack, and play fully without mistakes, I am blown away by that!!! Hopefully this one with gain a lot of new viewers cause it certainly deserves attention.....11/11 on this one, cause the difficulty level is off the charts. On the Epiphone Les Paul special II 😂 love it!

@@DJENTISNTNOTAGENRE you’re right to be fair, the intro is fiddly, I taught myself to hybrid pick using that intro! But damn it’s cool 🤘🏼😂

The fact you can get that tone from a 52 on a 24.75” scale is as impressive as your playing and transposing!
Why? Less string gauge better tone, fact.
Beautifully done.
play drop G(kinda) on a 24.75 scale length guitar with 10-52 is crazy, great cover btw, love it
❤❤❤ tremendo como suena esa epi spesial
Awesome video!! Nailed it dude!
Sounds amazing! Great job!
Mega fedt cover dude!
I have the same guitar, your cover inspire me to learn this music! If you made it sound so well maybe I can too.
Great cover bro!
Les Pauls can Djent too. This is too awesome!
Djent is not a genre....
sick downpicking at 5:16!
Have you done Marigold? I learned that one a couple years ago, helped me out of a plateau, super fun song.

tats awesome.. im still learning marigold… haha
Honestly that song might be harder, I've really wanted to cover Marigold for a while, but it's so hard to get the main riff clean
Great playing!! Is this tab available for download somewhere?
Just on the video for now, there is one on UG which is pretty good, but it has some mistakes like fast descending riff at about 2:20.
how do you get that tone on a 6 string guitar without making the strings too loose?
The low string was pretty loose, but it somehow worked out, a lot of the tone came from the floppiness of the low-string
what tuning?
It's in the description!
