Wolfwalkers is recorded for tomorrow, but I wanted to get this up first because it's my jam. But yeah, fun times, Helluva Boss is back. Actually not very fun times, but an amazing episode all the same. Possibly the best one yet.

Yeah this is just one of the best episodes because Stolas is starting to become so good as a character. Plus the musical number was amazing!!!

I like the ending where it is implied Stella would hit Stolas too. He's afraid of her and he flinched when she approached. She was comfortable raising her hand against him but surprised when he caught it, implying he was getting hit often on top of the insults.
“Between you and I, is a comfortable Lie” hits very hard

I love that the kids sound like actual kids, and they accurately portrayed them as well. Children unnecessarily put stress on words and play around with topics like pirates and wild imagination.
I love that Stolas stood up to that evil bish Stella and he only put up with her constant insults because he wanted his daughter to have a great childhood now that is a great dad.

Tbh, I don’t think Stolas succeeded as a great dad. While he was absolutely wonderful as a dad, his inability to stand up for himself and remain passive is also very bad. Cuz of this, Octavia was exposed to screaming matches, the knowledge that her dad is miserable cuz he’s sticking around w/ her for her sake, fear that Stolas might leave her with just her mom, etc.
that is a toxic home life. She likely had to hear her mother shit talk her father all the time, with info she most def doesn’t deserve to be witness to. A lack of father or mother figure is better than a shitty one. Stella likely neglected Octavia as well, we hardly see any interactions between the two.
Sometimes being a good parent is getting your child away from bad ppl and not living in a toxic environment. I can’t fully blame stolas, lots of parents think touching it out for the child is the best choice. But in reality, it’s not. Considering his lack of friends and family, it would make sense for him to make that choice.

sadly, Stella has never been shown (so far) to have much love for Octavia, or at least She doesn't care for her the same way Stolas does
In the second episode she says 'urgh you get up' when Octavia has a bad dream, not 'you get up this time' or something else that would indicate she DOES get up sometimes, she has never been shown talking to her kid to my knowledge, not even in backgrounds, and in the only picture she has with her kid (and Stolas) she looks completely uninterested in both of them
She only seems to be interested in her public image and making Stolas miserable
Tbf though, I wouldnt necessarily blame her for that, even if she is going to be a villain.
Like, she is married to someone she clearly doesnt like and doesnt get along with, she probably didnt want a kid and then had to take care of it. And the only joy she gets is making the man she doesnt want to be with feel miserable and upholding her image.
I am not saying she is a good character or that het actions where justified. I could understand though why she wouldnt be close to Octavia.
She seems more like a Buisnesswoman to me who wanted to be famous / rich / successful but then had to start a family and get married cause her prents said so
@@Shyress I can definitely see that being her backstory, and that it's a messed up situation for everyone
we may never get both sides of the story, and you can't make yourself like or love someone, the writers are doing a very good job of making Stella easily hateable
I just hope that she doesn't realize that, with Stolas' depression, apathy for life, and failing Relationship with Blitzo, the best way to "Make him pay for it" in a way that would truly destroy him would be to hurt/use Via against him.
Fun fact, Paimon (Stolas's dad) is voiced by the VA of Jafar from Aladin!
D-do you think that makes Stolas' mother "Linda Larkin" (Princess Jasmine's VA)?

The moment King Paimon asked, “Isn’t that fun?” I immediately thought, “Yup. That’s Jafar.”
ya when I saw the episode immediately, I recognized Jafar's voice I was in shock. I was like holy molly thats Jafar wow and to be honest I was giddy when I herd that voice sent shivers down my spine.
If right after watching the pilot someone were to tell me "you're gonna come to love Stolas's character, understand his every choice and feel soooo much for him" I would've never believed it.
It's crazy how they totally twist your perception of the character without leaving any plot hole or contradiction! Love when shows manage to do that, especially in a positive spin like this.
I love how stolas' father enjoyed the circus and he didn't, and as an adult he enjoyed the circus while his daughter didn't. Sort of like them healing their inner child
Its sad, every time Blitz has come into Stolas' life hes taken advantage of him. ='/
Aside from the obvious plot points, that pain of Stolas Wanting to be vulnerable to this boy from his childhood, his first crush, only to find out at the end that he was just being used each time. That's what stands out to me the most each time I watch this episode. Ouch.
(Assuming that he found out about the robbery- we do never see the fallout of that.)
He definitely found out. It was revealed in the pilot when he said something like "the book I let you stole". But I also wanna say I don't think Blitzo has taken advantage of him EVERY time, such as when he played as a bodyguard for him and the time where Stolas saved him in the last episode

Yeah, they made a deal about the grimoire after that night, I was referring the the robbery when they were kids- we don't know if it even mattered enough for kid Stolas to find out. And sure, there have been individual moments in their relationship with no extra motives- but not of Blitz's end. As far as we know, every time that Blitz has met with Stolas has required some extra benefit. Meeting for sex gives Blitz the book, bodyguarding gave Blitz money.
As a whole, nothing about their relationship was genuine from Blitz's side (even Blitz topping isn't fully honest, in his drug trip we saw that part of him wants Stolas in charge). Every time they're together in Blitz's mind its just another thing for his job- there have been a couple of moments where he was taken by surprise and was actually open to Stolas, but then he refocuses on his goal of the moment.
Lol, tldr- Blitz has intimacy issues and Stolas never realized just how much that dictated their relationship. =P

It's kinda interesting that we see a difference in the phone photos. Stolas sees an unhappy Blitzo but when Blitzo looks through his photos he's smiling when he's cuddled up to Stolas.
But Stolas hiding his face in front of Asmodeus probably made Blitzo believe he ruined Stolas life by making him leave his wife and daughter. Stolas doesn't seem to care that people know about him and Blitzo but when it comes to his family and assuming Asmodeus is above him in status he couldn't muster the courage to defend him when they talked down to him.
@@YuukiHyuuga15 it makes even more sense now why he has trouble expressing himself in words and opts out to hide instead, seeing that he was clearly being abused, even physically, and also generally discouraged from being expressive as a whole for the proper goetia image. he gets overwhelmed and doesn't know what to say when put on the spot with something.
and Asmodeus is def above him in status. he's one of the 7 rulers, like Lucifer and Beelzebub
In the credits, it says that Blitzo's Father's name is Cash Buckzo. This leans heavily into the possibility that Blitz is from the Greed Ring. Makes sense with all the Mammon references previously.

@@emanuelbaigorria3932 We don't know ANY of that for sure. Not until Viv says so in a tweet or something, or until we get more on his background in future episodes. XD All we have to go on are theories--and so far, the Lust, Greed, and Pride rings are the top contenders.

No, all he said was that Millie and Mozzie were from Wrath, he never said anything about where he was from.
Viv and Brandon rogers did a great job writing that story for the show. I hope that after season 2 (its the last season of the show) they create a show together again.

I don’t remember season 2 being their last season? And I’ve watched all their Q&As. I love Helluva boss and how they tell their stories. But if it’s only 2 seasons long, season 2 would have to be extra long to wrapped everything up. I don’t see that happening in 7 to 8 episodes more. A third and final season makes more sense

The song is called Stolas Sings because it's literally just his theme (Stolas Speaks) but with words.
So it seems the Asmodeon Crystals are gonna be a future plot point- it was opened on that specific page in Stolas’ song and during the flashback there were crystals that were taken.
Interesting that those crystals are also named after Asmodeus- the Prince of the Lust ring who we saw last episode.
So I wonder how it’s all going to develop in the future?
Also, from what I hear, people have deciphered what the full pages say, and the crystals are the way that succubi and incubi like Verosika are able to access the human world.
So the implication may be that Stolas is trying to get Blitzo a way to go to the human world without requiring Stolas’s grimoire.

Not knowing what the pages say, my current theory is that it's a way to make someone fall out of love with someone, or forget about them. It would make sense to me considering Stolas is starting to cut ties off from the people that hurt him, like Stella.

+Art Thou Nasty It looks like Barbie, but it can't be. Look at the horns. XD They belong to a biologically male imp, since biologically female imp horns are black with tiny white stripes. And Barbie has the latter sort. Maybe this is a relative of theirs?

I was thinking it could also be a coloring error, in the character sheet for Millie's family it looks like she'd have a trans brother too but in the series the horns were colored like those of a male imp. There's often small errors like that in animation but ofc it's totally possible that there's just few relatives who look very similar with Blitz and Barbie.
@@artthounasty5877 Actually, that bit on Millie's family was no error. That "brother" was Sallie May, her sister. She is a transwoman. XD Which makes me think that this Barbie Wire lookalike could be a crossdressing, or trans relative that just looks like her--if this wasn't a coloring mistake after all.

Some have theorized that the imp walking the tightrope toward the beginning of the circus scene is Blitzø's sister
+Icoolest Cap'n If they changed her sex/design sometime between the last episode and now. Unless it's a color error. XD It's all in the horns~ The imp on the tightrope has male imp horns, while the Barbie we KNOW is Barbie (as seen in the picture on Blitz's phone) has female imp horns.

Also normally i don't like kids (as i feel the same as Lyall Lipton in episode 4 on children, aka "Look at those sweet disease-written vermin!") but i love kid Blitz and Stolas! Actually, when kid Blitzo talks about his dreams, most of it IS true. He is one of the well-known imps, he owns a big building with an office and he does what he wants.

Hi FlamingShark, yesterday was one month since my kitty Kai passed away, honestly I’ve had a rotten month but your reactions can always brighten my day.
Honestly this surprised me, until now I was sympathetic to Stella because apart from her being rightfully irked at Stolas’s infidelity we had no idea how she was the rest of the time, but now we know ... and from that picture the lady’s been a psychopath since she was a kid! I’m not saying Stolas isn’t blameless, as an adult he treats Blitzø pretty poorly (it’s clear he himself is a classist and he always talks down to Blitzø because he’s an Imp), but this explains so much, if not with Blitzø I want him to be happy.

Honestly I knew she was a bitch from episode 2. Regardless of why she was angry and throwing things and people at him, that is a huge red flag that someone is abusive. With Stella, we see she’s physically, mentally and verbally abusive.
I've been charmed by Stolas from the very beginning, but as he develops more and more, he's cementing himself as a tragic fave. This past episode felt like a 23-minute gut punch.

Hey welcome back Shark!! We missed you! This was an emotional rollercoaster, the animation was beautiful everyone did such a wonderful job at creating this lovely animation. The voice acting was amazing as well. Stolas deserves so much better than Stella, hopefully he can find someone who actually makes him happy. The song at the end was spectacular, and I'm so proud of Stolas finally standing up to Stella. Can't wait to see what the team has in store for us next. Fun fact: The voice actor of Stolas's dad is the voice of Jafar from Aladdin. Also I believe after Stella finds out that Stolas had sex with Blitz, it transitions to when Octavia is awoken by Stella and Stolas fighting in Episode 2. Again great to see you back, and great reaction as always!

the asmodeus crysatals , are magical crystals that asmodeus the prince of the lust ring and king of ars goetia, gives to the succubes and inccubes to go to the human world, those crystals can open portals for any demon to go to earth.

As revealed in the end credits, Stolas' father is Paimon.
Unlike in the show, he is usually depicted as a man riding a camel.
While different works credit him with different titles, in the Ars Goetia, he is one of the nine kings of hell, the same rank Asmodeus holds, too. Though since he does not represent any of the 7 Deadly Sins, I think it's likely that, while being a high ranking demon, he is not on the same level as Asmodeus in this show, as well (though that's just a theory for now).
He is usually portrayed as being highly knowledgeable about the world. In some versions, he can even see the past and the future.
Lastly, he is said to be quite loyal towards Lucifer.

They can take as long as they need to take to make episodes as good as they have been. Young Stolas is adorable. I hadn't realized before this episode just how horrible his wife actually is. He's a Prince of Hell and one of the nicer characters in the cast.

Heads up that the tightrope performer in the circus in the flashback was Blitzo's (identical twin) sister, Barbie Wire! It is heavily implied at this point that Blitzo's mother was sick or otherwise unable to preform or be around and not by choice since young Blitzo replies to "Don't you want to be able to help me and your momma' out?" with "Of course I want to help momma". Not his dad, but his mom is the most important part of that sentence for him.
You'll notice that Blitzo didn't have his white spot when he was young. It's not confirmed, but there's a lot of theories about how imps get their white marks and the most popular is that they are scars. Some serious shit went down if Blitzo ended up with huge scars and Fizz ended up half robot and possibly missing most (if not all) of his horns when they're older. His hat is in the shape of his horns, but flops like nothing is inside. The horse bit with Blitzo's green horse having no legs and The Blood seems to be a small nod to what might be the event that causes Fizz's injuries and could also mark the end of their friendship. I'm really excited for more backstory this season.

Actually I believe we see his sister Barbie in the beginning when they first went to the circus. She was the one on the trapeze?
Apparently it's rumored Barbie is transgender (like Millies sister) she sports thick black and white stripes like the males imps do as opposed to the black with thin white line horns like the female imps. Though some female imps do have different designs (all red, black tipped or black with thin strips they don't have the same as the males.
