Apparently my mic Camus in charged and once I plugged it into a charger I could finally see a green light. Kind of frustrating as no wheee in their abbreviated illustrated setup did I see a visual or text to do this.lovely sound now!
As Ian Craig pointed out, the new gen Rode video mic NTG only has 120db max SPL, while this Go II only has 110db. That is a whopping 20-30db lower than typical pensil condenser mic. They are way too easy to get distorted for loud source. Other than swiftly talking head shot, they are of not much use. Try to get near any rock band in a concert, a flying pass jet fighter, a fireworks show, or just noisy street outside, all you get is distorted sound.
What you point out is true but both of the Rode mics are designed to be used in relatively low noise environments such as talking head videos, interviews, Live streaming, Zoom meetings etc. For the money they perform well at those types of applications. If you need to record in high sound level environments neither of these mics would be your best choice. Thanks for watching!
@@IsomPhilips people vlog all walks of life not only talk alone to a camera in their basement. If Rode marketed new video Go II as a on camera shotgun, it needs to be able to handle variety of applications.
Rode videomic Go 2 and Sennheiser mke 400. Which of these two microphones is better to use for ASMR videos? Some bloggers claim that the Sennheiser mke 400 microphone has relatively strong 'self noise', is that true? 🙏
I don't have any experience with the Sennheiser mke 400 therefore I can't attest to the self noise but based on reviews I've read and my familiarity with sennheiser products, I would say it probably has a better sound quality overall than the Videomic Go 2 but that's just a guess. Thanks for watching the video!
Depends upon your needs and budget. In my opinion the NTG 2 will give you a better quality sound but at a higher cost but for the price, sound, simplicity and ease of use the Videomic Go II is an excellent little shotgun mic. Thanks for watching!
Does rode NTG sound $100 better? It's down to $200 usd now. The comica is only $20 more than this. What would you buy for indoor voice recordings in quiet environment out of those three?
Good video. Thanks!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching
