The instant pot was filled too much, that’s why it sprayed out the top like that. I also always throw a dish towel over the pressure release when I vent it, mostly because it scares me when the steam starts coming out. Recipe looks good though! Thanks for sharing!
Now I am 100% Mexican and I am so thankful my wife introduced me to Sinigang!! It is the best and I now cook it all the time at home. Takes me about 3-4 hours ( prep and all) and we love beef sinigang! We don’t really like the fish or eat the pork (due to health and religions reasons) but the tamarind flavor with the veggies Ohh is to die for!! Best on a cold winters day or a hard day of work. Thanks for sharing
Okay. My husband just bought instant pot today and hes now cooking kare kare and here i am watching this. Lord!! Gutom na gutom nako hahahaha. Good job ate heart.
I made some last week for the first time. My mom usually make it but this time I told her I'll make it with a little help. Next you should cook chicken adobo or arroz caldo
i love sinigang. i cook it with eather pork or shrimp (i do shrimps cuz my son doesnt eat meat). i put botchy, cherry tomattoes chopped up and onions. thats it. soo yummy with rice. when i moved out and lived with my (now husband, useto be bf) when our son was born. thats when i learned to cook. id ask my mom how to cook. sinigang was the first filipino dish i learned to cook, then was beef broccoli, adobo. i love to cook. my all the time favorite to cook is porkchops with onions.
That happens when the instant pot is still hot and liquid inside is still boiling or sizzling. I usually let it cool down for 20-30 mins before releasing the pressure. Hope this helps. Wow that looks amazing! 🤤 I am going to give this a try.
My favorite thing to make for my kids is Spaghetti Tacos. My husband's favorite is Lasagna... And mine is Lemon Pepper Chicken, broccoli and cheese casserole, cream corn & rolls. 👍
Gurl, im glad this whole quarantine thing made you realize that you love cooking. Its a plus tbh, plud you’re married and one day when you have kids of your own you need to cook for them anyways because eating take out food is not healthy and you never know what’s in it and how they made it. It made me realize that I love cooking too! So here’s to our cooking journey 😁
I purchased my instant pot duo crisp pressure cooker and air fryer combo and will be getting it tomorrow. I've been searching and pinning recipe and very excited to use it.
Sinigang is my fave too. Great job for cooking it the first time. I would recommend putting the bok choy last since it cooks faster. I’ve also done the same mistake while I overfilled the water/soup and it came out of the vent. Lol.
My family loves Sinigang may it be beef, pork, shrimp or fish! Our comfort food! 😊 I know a dew Filipino dishes but not as great cook as my hubby. They also love my Lumpiang Shanghai. You should cook more..u’ll find it rewarding specially when Arnold loves it! 😊
Sinigang is my fav! Can’t wait to try this. I had my instapot in the garage collecting dust, and I’m so excited to use it now. Yay!!!! And patis for the win! 😋😋😋
Sinigang, adobo, nilaga, mungo or tinola are always my go to and so much easier with the instant pot. With these dishes though you need to do a natural release (Or wait 10 mins before doing a quick release so the pressure inside goes down a bit) and not make the pot so full so it doesn’t spray like that 😊
It doesn't matter if you don't cook that much, at least your trying. I make it different but anytime I'm sick or someone needs a homey meal I make sinagang soup, I also make lumpia w/ shredded pork and chicken pancit. My hubby is Filipino. So I learned how to make him his favorites. 😁 You go experiment have fun cooking.... 🍜🥂
Looks good. Good job. Maybe you can use the instant pot to just tenderize the meat(with some water and mix). Then once tender, fill pot with water and add all the veggies to cook on sauté (or soup) mode so that the release doesn’t spit out hella water.
YESS thanks for this recipe, Heart! I know how to make sinigang on the stove but not the Instant Pot so this is great!! 😍 I’m thinking about getting the Filipino instant pot cookbook
I tried some lumpias before and they’re so good. Sorry it might be misspelled but they’re like egg rolls and they’re so delicious. I gotta try this recipe. It looks delicious.
I leave the pressure cooker for AT LEAST 20min-1h to cool down so it doesn’t steam/spray water out but this cooks the meat longer so set it for a shorter amount of time.. I use this method when I cook ox tail for kare kare as well
I love singang!! Vietnamese have a similar soup too but we also season ours with fish sauce. Ps. You over filled your IP. It’s best to stay at the MAX line. I would just pressure cook the meat without the seasoning and then after use sauté mode to bring to a boil and add the veggies and the seasoning.
heart! so proud and happy you're exploring the world of cooking! kaya mo yan! i think my go-to's are always vietnamese chicken curry "ca ri ga" and beef pho. (hubby doesn't like sour so whenever i make sinigang, para lang sa akin :))
This lockdown about to make us all self proclaimed professional chefs 😂😭❤️ what should I learn how to cook next?
you look just like beyonce! you're so beautiful!

ThatsHeart a cooking video?!?! Shes so grown! New woman who dis?! Im so proud of you!
The instant pot was filled too much, that’s why it sprayed out the top like that. I also always throw a dish towel over the pressure release when I vent it, mostly because it scares me when the steam starts coming out. Recipe looks good though! Thanks for sharing!
N F lol I do that too. Put cloth over the top to prevent spraying everywhere.
Or do a slow release
Now I am 100% Mexican and I am so thankful my wife introduced me to Sinigang!! It is the best and I now cook it all the time at home. My favorite dish to cook is actually chicken adobo ❤ it just tastes like home 😋
Sinigang is my fave too. Great job for cooking it the first time. I would recommend putting the bok choy last since it cooks faster. I’ve also done the same mistake while I overfilled the water/soup and it came out of the vent. Lol.

Yaas!! Sinigang is my all time favorite Filipino food too!! ❤
This recipes looks so good ☺️ (Usually when your Instant Pot spits out like that, it’s because it’s too full)
I was fired from my job (so much for healthcare workers being essential), so all I've been doing is cooking & baking. I'm going to try this next!
Nice heart! I washed the meat and boil it first in water to get the gunk. Then put it in the instant pot.
My family loves Sinigang may it be beef, pork, shrimp or fish! Our comfort food! 😊
I know a dew Filipino dishes but not as great cook as my hubby. They also love my Lumpiang Shanghai. You should cook more..u’ll find it rewarding specially when Arnold loves it! 😊

It doesn't matter if you don't cook that much, at least your trying. Looks good. Good job.
Maybe you can use the instant pot to just tenderize the meat(with some water and mix). Then once tender, fill pot with water and add all the veggies to cook on sauté (or soup) mode so that the release doesn’t spit out hella water.
Now the real practice is cooking it in a regular pot, old school style. Mmmmmm
