I've seen a lot of Caldereta Recipes but this by far is the only one that makes sense to me. Thank you for giving small details as to why a certain ingredient is important and how it matters in the overall procedure. I mean I have nothing against other recipes but most of their ingredients are hard to find. I will try this recipe tonight. SUPER THANKS!
Liver spread does make the difference. I am a white guy and made this on Christmas Eve for a big dinner we were having. Every person at the party was asking for recipe. Jeanelle is telling the truth! Thanks Jeanell
I love the clarity & simplicity of your recipes. You also give brief explanation on why things should be done this way or that. I love the way you demonstrate your cooking. We'll appreciated. I am able to cook both your Mechado & Kaldereta with the help of your videos & it both turned out well. Keep it up & more power! Hope to try some more of your recipes soon. Thank you so much Jeanelle. Know that your efforts are acknowledged & well appreciated.💚❤💙💞
I don't know how to cook but for some reason I bought an instantpot because I always work on the road I didnt want to spend so much money eating out. Seing this video is def a cheat code for me I'll be able to save up money and atleast avoid fast food hahah!
I like the recipe & you present well. I am just not a big fan of InstaPots...I think it's a lot more work for me to monitor different steps...timings etc. I still like the old fashioned stove top cooking, as I find the meat flavor and consistency is just right.
@@bigbadspikey This is so true. I believe there is no wrong or right way to make something - just a DELICIOUS way! I love them all. I'm gonna try the cheese idea!
@@kickassssnation027 Pine nuts??? This is for a Caldereta right? I've looked up pine nuts here and 250g is $15, kinda expensive. Dark beer, hmmm...I guess I could try that. But just to clarify again, this is for Caldereta, because pine nuts and beer on food is not really common for Filipino dishes. Anyway I'll still try the dark beer suggestion since I've already used them before on different dishes, but not really Filipino dishes. 😀
Just to add.. according to instant pot u dont need to cover the vent when releasing steam it could damage the unit and sometimes the fiber can get vaccumed.. nevertheless your recipe looks delicious wanna make it tonight 😊
It's odd that you didn't get a "food burn" message from the Instant Pot because I did. I had to add a cup of water to make it go away. I will try again with a slow cooker.
@@Jeanelleats that is why!! Hey.. can u make a video on how to improve filipino accent to american accent!? Lol i will be ur first fan! Im sure you will be watched by many!
timitchi j I’ll think about it! I’m not a linguist or anything but I’ll think of how to do it. Have you tried listening to an audio and copying the American accent?
Please don’t cover your IP with a towel when releasing pressure :) this may void your warranty. You can slow release the pressure by wedging a wooden spoon under the valve, learned this from Flo Lum! :)
Pls add water! At least 1/2-1 cup of water. My stew almost got burnt after adding then pressuring cooking the potatoes and carrots. I’m glad I was able to salvage it by transferring my stew to a pot and adding up to a cup of water. Finishing it off on the stove

Do you have the recipes written down?
If you are puzzled with these different kinds of stew, you are really a true Filipino.

yep, I have to agree with that about the Instant Pot. I had to train myself to use it! the more I used it, the easier it got
I like Caldereta more than Adobo. You should put chunks of cheese when you cook Caldereta again. It's gonna be heavenly!
BigBadSpikey ....I like caldereta more too 🤭 omg cheese is SUCH. A. GREAT. IDEA!!!! I’ll try that next time!!
@@Jeanelleats That's how my mom cooks Caldereta with chunks of cheese. I guess like Abodo, every family has their own take on the dishes. :)

Add crushed roasted pine nuts too and some people like to add a dark beer for a deep flavor.

When you let it sit overnight, do you keep it in the instapot? If you do, do u turn it ff or keep warm overnight?
Keep it in the instapot but leave it off and unplugged!
Tried this Caldereta recipe tonight , it’s easy to follow and so delicious!! A +++++ !! Thank you Jeanelle 😊
So what’s the difference between mechado and caldereta just the liver paste.

I think this is your best video yet, recipes-wise! Well done, and the music makes it even better :D
Aww thank you so much. And it helps that you love kaldereta hehehe
