We had British soldiers that brought home dogs. There is a dog rescue organisation in Afghanistan that still rescues dogs there and finds the good homes around the world.
Is it really still operational today? That's awesome
Dogs that were probably pets of Afghani families, who British soldiers brutally killed when they invaded their country to steal their oil!

That soldier found the PUREST form of Love on the battlefield. ❤ He changed Fred's destiny for good, Fred changed his life. What a lovely 13-year-old baby. 😘 I pray Fred lives many many more healthy and joyous years ❤🐾

@HappyHands. are u serious wow u really don't know what goes on in Afghanistan or Iran🤦🏻♀️❗️Those countries are Muslim countries they dislike dogs due to their religious beliefs & dogs aren't family pets. Dogs thousands or more dogs roam the streets looking for food. Many are killed or abused by the locals. So he knew that if he didn't take Fred that dog fate would have been bleak. Many other countries are like this Greece. Russia for instance Many years ago shot all Stray dogs bc the Olympics were going to start and they knew they were going to have tourists and were ordered to exterminate the homeless dogs. So sorry no your assumption of this dog having an owner is wrong educate yourself on how other countries view animals and which have a large stray population of dogs like China. Look up the Yulin dog festival that will really open up your eyes to the reality of the fate of Stray dogs and the mistreatment & their sad fate.
This was a lovely video to watch on Veterans Day today. I’m 80 and my late husband served in Vietnam. He loved dogs and I love dogs and we had some very sweet ones together-mostly labs. This especially made me think of my husband today and our pets together. Thank you for your service and for rescuing this sweet pup from a war zone.

There is a Rescue in Afghanistan and several other War Zones including Ukraine called, "No Dog Left Behind.." a Rescue that was founded by a Veteran who with his team tries to get as many Stray Dogs out of the active War Zones as possible and get them to Safety in the US, into Foster Homes and then into their Furever Homes wherever that might be in the World

Fred has lived a better life than me, surrounded by people who love him unconditionally and traveling to so many places in the United States and around the world. What a brave dog too, from the battlefields of Afghanistan to flying in planes and helicopters to being around crowds of people. What a blessed dog! 😊🙏🏼🤍

I found Craig and Fred from a dog named Stella- an other Maine resident. Craig and Fred’s story is amazing. Been following them for 4 years now. It’s worth following them. I think his phrase is stubborn positivity. Glad he’s featured here ❤️

The Asher House just dropped a video about one of their new dogs at the Sanctuary. His name is Max and he was rescued from Afghanistan by No Dogs Left Behind who work behind the borders to rescue dogs.
I saw that this morning. Max is a big beautiful boy, and couldn't have landed in a better place.
