This is so true.
When she left, she said it was because I was abusive. And admittedly, I was to small degree emotionally abusive in a few bad fights we had. But as soon as we recognized it for what it was, I was talking to a therapist and scheduling a course in anger management.
But on top of that, she gave me a laundry list of reasons she was leaving like she was building a court case against me. All things that were genuine shortcomings or flaws just like anyone has, but then she said I was controlling. And that's when I knew it was her just coming up with reasons to leave. I've always tried to give her as much freedom and autonomy as possible and was always proud of her accomplishments and pushing her to make more friends for instance. Helping her get dressed up for a night on the town with the girls and such.
A month or two after the breakup and realizing that the core issue was her losing attraction to me I asked her in person. I told her straight up that she didn't leave because I was abusive. She left because she lost respect, attraction and love.
And she fully agreed. She felt terrible but she admitted that she wasn't attracted to me anymore.
I can't pinpoint exactly when it started but we'd had a stressful fall summer and fall of 2022 and I became really needy and jealous and insecure. All things that are unattractive in a partner. That's when I believe the relationship started falling apart. She broke up with me November 30th.
And it wasn't even a surprise. She even told me a few times over the months that she wasn't sure if she could keep going. I thought she was referring to the fights and stress but in actuality, she was most likely talking about her attraction to me but never told me that outright, so I didn't know what needed work.
Attraction is key in a relationship. If that fails, everything else will likely fall apart. And they won't tell you it's that they're no longer attracted to you. For what I believe is a couple reasons. First of all because it's hard to tell someone that. Secondly because they look like the bad guy. It's much easier to leave when you can tell everyone the reasons for leaving are because you're abusive or controlling. Everyone will immediately take your side and not question anything.
Luckily my friends and family saw through it all and while I was blaming myself, telling me that it wasn't all me. It took me a good two months to realize they were right. Two wasted months in a sense.
Now I'm trying to work on myself in a multitude of ways including how attractive I am by working on my self esteem and confidence but I'm not sure if I'd even take her back at this point. She moved on sexually immediately and I've lost respect for her. But part of me still loves her and misses her. We had something fantastic for 26 years and she was an amazing mother and wife.

Yep! He didn't want me anymore & it hurts like hell knowing that. No-contact is for me to get over him and all the hurt. I miss his friendship horribly, but I'm not reaching out to him. I'm giving him exactly wth he asked for. He never needs to know how I'm doing, but I really hope I'm on his mind & heart forever.

@@RJ_HTx he did. I was in some crazy state and was focused all on myself and tried hard to develop my business but in fact he did work hard and paid everything. On top of all we lost close communication as I was stupid and didn't take part of his games and world. Wish he'd knew how sorry i am now. But it's too late

Thank you. I don’t feel like doing him any favor when he didn’t give me none of it when I asked him after the break up. He left me questioning and if he wants to just complain how I was I won’t fix it anymore because I know we both did wrong and i already apologized for what I did. If he wants to come back he gotta learn my boundaries cuz I can not keep beating myself up thinking about the idea of him thinking about me as the only bad person in the relationship. Ain’t trying to fix things no more cuz if he can’t move on from the past mistakes I did then I don’t deserve to be the only one to blame. I won’t beg anymore. Mine does the same with thinking they are blameless and tries to discourage or belittle the growth and improvement I'm making because if I'm better and doing or being better, I think it makes her question if she did the right thing.
@@bluharris9645 If I’m in your situation I would say “hey” back but nothing more than that but your ex has to initiate the contact and do not beg until he talks about the relationship. But if he kept reaching out few times and it seems to go nowhere I’ll ask him when he reaches out again that “do you have anything necessary important you wanna tell me or not?” And just wait for the response. If he says no then I’d tell him that “If you have nothing important to let me know then I don’t feel comfortable talking normal conversations cuz if you contact me without the intention to fix things then I will need to go and heal. So if it’s the important thing then I’m open to talk about it but I don’t want you to ask how I am or what I’m doing”
This is only my perspective on my relationship with my ex because he said he doesn’t feel comfortable talking with me knowing our past. So you can use this but adjust to your situation :)

He may be confusing too, but dun worry as long as he didn't ask for getting back together, then it is not, even he said he missed you, you just need to stay cool, dun reach out to him, just wait for him, and during the time dun focus on him, keep improving yourself, fitness, knowledge, career, money, hobbies, etc. He may be testing the water to see if you are still into him, if he confirmed he may fall back to his comfort zone, or he wanted to meet up to just check on you, just remember if he initiated the breakup, he wouldn't want to flip their decision so quickly, otherwise it will be like a joke, so be patient, dun overanalyze his words

I went 5 months of no contact. To the point he turned up to my house. I don’t like him checking up on me.
He left me. My close family even told him I’m no longer in the headspace anymore he can’t force me to be. I thought that was the end of that no more contacting
Then only a few days ago he messages to check how I was. My reply was very polite and simple I had no emotions attached.
I’ve healed I don’t have any feelings for him anymore.
I listened to my instinct told me to reply before I wouldn’t even bother.
It’s the only way I know that he can leave me alone as that is the last text ever I’ve deleted everything of his. Yet he hangs around like a bad smell

I walked away his actions showed me he mentally left our relationship but tried to keep having me do things for him while I got treated like a pheasant. Before he could even break up with me I left him. I'm still having a terrible time with accepting and letting go. I still keep hope but all I'm really doing is torturing myself and holding myself back. I've done the self work but can't seem to get the letting go and accepting part down. I'm going on my first date this week with actually an ex from 15 years ago and I find myself continuing to compare them both and I know that's a bad thing to do. The reason that the ex broke things off (the one I've got a date with this week) was because she knew I wasn't over my ex wife and I feel I'm kind of in the same situation this go around. My ghosted me after 3 months of dating. We moved way too fast but the connection was there because we were both open with who we are and what we wanted. I found out later he ghosted me because of my “radical left” agenda. And that I wouldn’t budge on my beliefs, when my beliefs are for the common good of the people such as higher wages, womens rights, climate change, healthcare and letting people love who they want to love. Which is agreed with me on and I felt safe and vulnerable to express this to him. Is there a chance of getting him back? Don't change who you are for anyone. You'll eventually find your tribe. My family hated that I talked about politics and then I ended up going to school and sitting in classes with people and teachers who share the same exact ideas as me. I wouldn't go back and change myself to make them happy for the world.

Can I get some advice please. Me and ex were together for 5 months. We broke up and she blocked me on all socials except Tik tok in mid January. About 2 weeks ago she viewed my tik tok account and it made me curious so I added her she accepted me. I broke the no contact after 3 months. She said she dated 2 guys but didnt even kiss them. I asked her if she wants to call me she said she’s not ready for that yet. Work on becoming the best version of yourself. Especially in areas that women find attractive. Maybe she'll see something in you and come back. If not you'll end up attracting someone else and it ultimately won't matter if she's moved on.
