While listening to metal, we usually have to decide if we want quality lyrics or a good music quality. Gojira is one of the rare few that brings both together perfectly.
This is not a channel, it is a sandwich Totally agree with that music with a not so good lyrics doesnt sticks to ones head for a long time. these guys are amazing
Zao Light That's your subjective experience, and you're entitled to it, but try to imagine being told that by someone who heard a song you wrote, something you poured your blood sweat and tears into. It's like telling a painter that you really really really really really like the frame his painting came in.
Fuzzy Chameleon Oh, Sleeper does it well too. Micah (the singer and the one who writes the lyrics) can create beautiful lyrics. Apparently he also writes books for fun in his spare time away from the band.
Gojira will be history of music. They are the superlative of emotion, expression, beauty and anger. This lyrics are the clearest mirror of what this race is and does in this age.
Seriously. I imagine titans coming out of the oceans causing tidal waves and tearing open the skies when those guitar riffs and cannons for drums let loose. Gojira is the most powerful sounding band I've ever heard.
+Dhieen I did listen to some Converge. Not really my sound. Not that they are bad, but I prefer Gojira. Converge is like technical punk metal at least with the way they sound. Thanks for the suggestion though, it's a good thing to experience new music.
I've been a metal enthusiast my whole life. Rarely, is there a waking moment that I'm not listening to music. I enjoy many genres, but metal speaks to my soul. I dismiss the notion that metal is evil. It is about the artist, not the genre as a whole. Though, I turn 55 in June, I still enjoy newer bands that actually bring it. Gojira speaks to my spirit like no other band has before. Anything M.J.K., I am all about. But, Gojira has the ability to convey feelings of hope, foreboding, joy and sorrow, simultaneously. My mind can't comprehend, but it's not FOR my mind. It's for my heart and soul. The song, liquid fire, is the song I hear at the end of this life, but the beginning of eternity.
The feeling I get when that verse riff first hits is indescribably good... It's powerful and anthemic but at the same time brooding and dour... It's like a melancholy you feel before changing your life. What an incredible song
Thank you for putting that feeling into words. The melancholy you feel before changing your life. The spark of resolve. As if a switch has been thrown, we go from resistance to full conductivity.
I've never fully listened to Gojira for more than a minute or two into their songs for years, but in my search to find new music, I constantly return to try and get into this band. I am glad to say that I am finally a fan of their music. Lyrically pretty great and instrumentally sound music with a bit of that weird progressive side that I'm into.
Metallica was my favorite band for many years, after discovered gojira and saw them live for the first time warming up for metallica they became my favorite. This band is awesome.... thank you mighty gojira!! Hpoefully you be with us for many years!!!!
Is it possible? Have I actually found a band where I can't find at least one song by them that I don't like? C..can I die in peace now? Is my life fulfilled?
Dethklok 666 yup, never. By the time they're old I'm sure humanity will have mastered the necessary technology for cryogenic suspension while at the same time keeping the parts of their brain responsible for this awesome music working and churning out new tunes
My favorite part about this band is that their studio recordings sound organic. unlike most bands where it's "hey, that one note is a little too distorted, we better go back and clean it up" they just sort of say fuck it.
Words cannot adequately describe how amazing the drum beat in the verse is; my mind litterally shit chunks into the milky way when I worked out what he was playing.
This may be one of my favorite songs. The lyrics are great and 10/10 inspirational. This song, and Gojira's music in general pumps me up when I need that much extra power in preparation for a workout or demanding life event; or when I need some recharging. In my humble opinion you guys are excellent and I would love to see you live someday if circumstances allow it. ImI_ Gojira fans FTW _ImI
Born in Winter is a good one, a nice one minute and fifty seconds of build up, then this powerful section just punches you in the face its just an amazing song
cant wait to see them again...soundwave 2 years ago kicked ass.theres 2 lineups, one has gojira on it again ..im going but im not positive if they will be there or not.do you no.if you no what im talkn bout.
this whole album is amazing, I heard a few demos on amazon and bought it right off the bat and was blown away.. been listening to it quite a bit ever since
Is it possible to be raw and refined? Yes. Gojira brings that raw feel, but gives such a pure refined understanding. I know people who arent even in to metal, and gojira is a band that they can listen too. It's awesome!!!
people mistake the lack of traditional solos and phrasing as weak or weird music but it is not true. Gojira is a progressive as any band, it doesn't rely on math metal but instead is a amalgam of many different flavours , some brutal, some nuanced just like the French . Beautiful lyrics that demand a little effort and reflection..usually..to fully appreciate . A very good band I hope Tesseract will step up to this level of creativity and musicianship as I really like progressive metal mixed with melodic death metal...it's hard to find that mix.
its insane, right? These guys are fucking monsters and show signs of only getting better. Taking my 9 year old to a show next week. We are absolutely stoked
This is how we talk to the world Pure liquid fire running through our veins We're in this alone, we bow to no one Carved by the waves, our sacred temple Sing the praises of no flag, we set the tone This is no fiction, We've come to an end now Our conviction untouched, we build a life straight Intelligence of heart as only guidance
I saw 'em in Seattle. If you've never seem them before, get ready. I can't help your anticipation, but know it will be worth the wait. They are incredible.
me too ... I still remember that Slipknot was band who introduced me to metal and I can still find things I liked about them. When you are saying bad things about music you used to like or you stop to listen to them is like being ashemed of who you became.
I hate most metal, but this has groovy rhythm, more progressive drumming, breakdowns, varying vocal styles, melody, everything that a lot of metal lacks, and it's hard as fuck, love it
+Ricky Lahey Exactly! this is such a weird song like the vocals sound strange to say the least.. but turn the bass up and forget it cause it's one hell of a ride
Just a little over a year ago a good friend of mine took his own life. Gojira was his favorite band. Unfortunately he was never lucky enough to see them live (we didn't exactly live near any major concert venues). To this day hearing Gojira is bittersweet because it always reminds me of him. His girlfriend hopes to one day be able to bring his ashes to a show (not to spread don't worry) so he can at least be in thier presence.
2:25 to 3:20 words can't describe how much I love this part. This band is perfect
Closet gojira fan..that's all u had to say.
@@trentcook8021 lmao yes
goosebumps
My favorite part of all the Gojira discography (probably exaggeration) comes just after... from 3:20 to 4:16
Goosebumps each time
While listening to metal, we usually have to decide if we want quality lyrics or a good music quality. Gojira is one of the rare few that brings both together perfectly.
I honestly only care about music, I'm not listening music because of lyrics, otherwise I'll just go read poems... For me they're only a kind of bonus
Well said :)

The main riff at 0:40 is so emotionnal, love it !
PostMitotic My favorite part of this whole song
It's so amazing it is life
I completely agree, so amazing
I feel exactly the same, there are few people who can put so much feelings in a guitar riff like Joe Duplantier or Christian Andreu
Yes! I've been trying to describe that riff ever since I heard this amazing song
Gojira will be history of music. They are the superlative of emotion, expression, beauty and anger. This lyrics are the clearest mirror of what this race is and does in this age.

SW_Insanity pretty sure this guy just wants to tick people off, it’s almost impossible to be this dumb
I love the "really huge" feel Gojira brings in any song they've made. Pure and raw, the way metal should be
maximalism
Seriously. I imagine titans coming out of the oceans causing tidal waves and tearing open the skies when those guitar riffs and cannons for drums let loose. Gojira is the most powerful sounding band I've ever heard.
for a pure and raw sound you need to listen to converge
+Dhieen I did listen to some Converge. Not really my sound. Not that they are bad, but I prefer Gojira. Converge is like technical punk metal at least with the way they sound. Thanks for the suggestion though, it's a good thing to experience new music.

So much power within these songs they write, so much emotion. Truly beautiful.

Crazy how Gojira can incorporate emotion, expression, anger and pure hype into their music. Fucking underrated
There's something obscure about this song. It's like the ''chorus'' sounds like a verse and the verse like a chorus. Great song though
0:39 absolutely beautiful
Chills everytime
Is it possible? Have I actually found a band where I can't find at least one song by them that I don't like? C..can I die in peace now? Is my life fulfilled?
Not until they release their next album you're not fulfilled.
+Chappie zeffresh and it will never end
+Frisbee try "The Wild Healer"... not one of their best songs :D

I find this music incredible. Most of Gojira's songs say something important to me. These guys are great.
Lots of awesome songs from Gojira but this one hits differently with me. Great lyrics and great music to back it up
Made the Olympics awesome. Viva la Gorjira
