Landis agreed. He later said in an interview that acting is an honorable profession that does not necessarily require you to compromise your dignity as a human being.

One of my favorite Movies of All Time. Not simply a great Christmas Movie, it is a terrific movie all around, with an amazing Cast, unforgettable scenes and endlessly quotable lines... One Comedian at the absolute PEAK of his comedy prowess, another Comedian coming off of a massively successful run on this fledgling Late Night TV Show called Saturday Night Live, and oh yeah... A drop dead gorgeous Jamie Lee Curtis, finally released from the shackles of being labeled the "Scream Queen" for movies such as "Halloween" and "Halloween 2", "Prom Night", and "Terror Train". (How many of you giggled when I said "Jamie Lee Curtis" and "released" in the same sentence, especially in reference to this Film?!?😂 I know that this movie is based on a novel called "The Prince and The Pauper", but it is a very unique and in many ways, Original, script. I love the dialog, the interactions between the cast (I mean, c'mon... Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy!!!) but the setting is almost a character in itself... Philadelphia is perfect in this movie. It is gorgeous. Simply perfect! I love this movie! Me and my family watch it every Chritmas!!

Also, from what I remember of the 80's, the word "negro" was used more then, and it just meant black. I came up a bit later, so it still felt awkward for me to hear older people say it. But I could tell it was different from when they said the other word (like the Dukes did). But I'm white, so I don't know what it felt like to be a black person being called that back then.

By the way, that gorgeous bosom and figure of hers are completely natural. Her revealing it in all its glory came as quite a shock to folks used to the relatively lanky and very clothed Jamie Lee Curtis from the "Halloween" films.

Also, from what I remember of the 80's, the word "negro" was used more then, and it just meant black. I came up a bit later, so it still felt awkward for me to hear older people say it. But I could tell it was different from when they said the other word (like the Dukes did). But I'm white, so I don't know what it felt like to be a black person being called that back then.

So many quotes from this movie got me laughing just thinking about them..."just where is your b**ches, mister big time pimp??" ..the more random the better. I like the nod to the "Rocky" statue in the opening montage, a movie that only came out 7 years before this one. Mr Video, thanks for keeping your open mind about THAT Winthorpe scene- I never "noticed" it until I rewatched this movie recently, with 2023 eyes...
One amusing detail I found is how Winthorpe assisted with payroll - pretty entry-level job for someone so high up in the company.
