Pushpanjali means tribute of flowers. Anjali is the name of the female character in this movie. Anjali means tribute and this song speaks of all the different tributes (anjali) for Anjali. Geethanjali= tribute of song, Nadananjali= tribute of dance, Kavithanjali= tribute of poems, and so on. The vocal are the legendary S.P.B. and K.S. Chitra. In other words if you have AR. Rahman as a music composer of your movie, then your movie better be good enough to match up to his quality of soundtrack compositions.
I can confidently say that currently ONLY AR. Rahman enjoys this privilege in India.

Moreover, giving one or two hit songs out of 10 songs is not equal to giving 8 hits out of 10 songs.. Consistency matters BTW hip hop tamizha doesn't even belong anywhere near top 10 .. No versatility and had lost his market within a few years itself

When talk about ARR's best soundtrack Roja,Bombay etc.Mani ratnam movies or Shankar/Kathir combo ones (my personal favourite combos ARR-Kathir,Raja-Mani,Harris-GVM).. But My mom's favourite of ARR is always this movie ❤ especially bcoz most songs sung by late SPB,RIP sir 😢🙏 Such a GOAT album,not underrated but definitely many won't talk about this comparing other 90s ARR's classics.Another thing is few songs are 7-8 mins lengthy but never feel wow 30 years old cant believe it.. 🎉 ARR the legend

There are 1000s of such songs still unexplored in Tamil ..Can anyone tell me the location.. its very beautiful.. Saxsaphone is used beautifully in the Lesa Lesa album.. a masterpiece from Harris Jeyraj.. May Madham, Thiruda Thiruda, Puthiya Mugam, Boys, Mudhalvan, Indian, Gentlemen are all some of the best albums of ARR.. Still you guys havent explored it..
