      185k that’s some miles. What are you seeing on the subframe bushing? Have they started to separate, do have a sound coming front it? Thanks for watching.

      I just looked up changing the subframe bushing they have a hand held hydraulic press that they use while the subframe is still in the car. The book says around 5 hrs labor.

    Kevin, my cayenne needs alignment, do you know if there is anything special about doing alignment on these cars or I can take it to any alignment shop? Thank you

    • @KevinsEuropeanGarage
      @KevinsEuropeanGarage  4 года назад

      Nothing special about the alignment for Cayenne any competent garage should be able to do it. The alignment machine will give them the specs. How good of alignment you get depends on the tech.

    Do you always need new bolts when replacing upper control arms ? I just purchased the Lemforder upper arms but after watching this video I'm not sure if I need new bolts as well

    • @KevinsEuropeanGarage
      @KevinsEuropeanGarage  3 года назад

      The manual says that you should replace the bolts they are a torque to yield type. So it isn’t a bad idea to change them. They aren’t expensive from the dealer

    Will the 2011 panamera be pretty much the same to replace?

      From the few pics I’ve seen it looks really similar. I have never worked on one so I can’t say for sure how close it really is. I have a feeling though it’s probably about 80%the same

    Love cayenne... little disappointing that they no longer sell naturally aspirated one.

      I like turbo cars and have owned many. They just ad a whole layer of complexity that just makes things harder to work on.

    FYI, I'm looking at a Toureg spec "vw-wi___rl_V.en-GB.K00589620.wi__56743447.pdf" that I found on Rennlist, which should be the same as the Cayenne, and it says 50 N-m (37 ft-lb.) plus 90 deg! NOT 180 degrees. If this is correct, you may have over-torqued the bolts.

    • @KevinsEuropeanGarage
      @KevinsEuropeanGarage  3 года назад

      I looked up what you are referencing. It was in the forum for 955 and 957 Cayenne 2003-2010. They do have it at as 37ftlbs and 90deg. I use Alldata they have it listed as 37ftlbs and 180 deg for a 2013 958. It is possible that one is a typo or that they changed the torque spec on the 958 model. With Alldata I use the diy version and not the full version. So I can only look up the manual for specific vehicle I purchased. If I had the full version I could check a 955-7 to see if that was different. Let’s hope the 180 deg was right.

      Chriscloser is right, for anybody watching this now. The bolt in question is a M10 grade 10.9 which gives max torque of 73NM. When doing mine at 50NM +90 it gave me roundabout 73NM. +180 is definitely over torqued
