    Sod the neighbours....I’d charge them to hear the sound of the P5b V8. What a beast! I’ve waited 5 days to watch this. Well done to you and top marks to Tara. Looking forward to seeing her out on her first trip of the year. 👍

    What a magnificent beauty, I travelled in one as a young lad around 1969. Felt like royalty! Thanks George Montague for being wealthy enough to own such a wonderful and luxurious car. A boy's dream come true 🥰

    Nothing better than a V8 for sound.

    Oh, you lucky one. Mine is a '71with the automatic choke. One has to learn a whole new set of swear words to be properly prepared for that first start up and every start in cold weather for that matter. :-)

    I'm a Scot Watching in Australia, one of the nicest P5s on the net , love these cars but hard to find here. Got me a Triumph 2500 TC as a poor substitute. Keep them coming👍

      Thanks, Scot. There's quite a few P5s in Australia but not many on the net. Enjoy your Triumph - a great car!

    Lovely car. Video really well put together. Enjoyed that. Will watch the other videos. I have a P6B 3500 S in Tasmania Australia. Hubnut from the UK recently did a couple of videos on it. A friend here has a P5B Coupe in Arden Green. Really like the saloons myself as they have more headroom in the rear. Coupes are lovely of course.

      Thanks for watching, Peter. I'd love to have a drive in a P6B 3500S. Both the saloon and coupé are great cars, I wish I had one of each!

    Lovely car. I had a P6 2000 in the seventies which I loved. I've always wanted a P5 coupe but never got around to getting hold of one. Maybe one day?

    I have to ask. How do you support yourself in Austria managing a hobby that isn't cheap?. Are you a business?. Do you speak German fluently?. Love the videos (it's easy for us) but I wondered how?. Thank you.

    Beautiful car but by the early 70s many potential 2nd owners would have found p5b far too thirsty. I remember dad considering a used one but by the time they reached their 2nd owners the p5b often had surface rust and cracked leather.

    • @tarabordeaux1968
      @tarabordeaux1968  4 года назад

      Agreed, Jan. They were totally uneconomical back then, especially during the oil crisis. That and their tendency to rust led many of them to be banger raced in the '70s where they were unfortunately very popular.

    Your SS exhaust sounds very tinny. It spoils the engine note.

    Very nice, well done! How long since the last run (or start up)? I prefer to let the engine run until it’s fully warmed up before I turn it off, esp if the car has an automatic choke (AED). I’ve been told that Castrol Magnatec engine oil prevents cylinder walls to become dry (no oil film) during long term storage. What are your thoughts on this?

    • @tarabordeaux1968
      @tarabordeaux1968  4 года назад +1

      It's been 6 months since the last start up. The car has a manual choke, AEDs were fitted the year after this was built and I warmed he up fully after I stopped filming. Not sure about the Magnatec oil, I use Castrol classic 20/50.

      My ‘69 P5B did have an AED and I can’t remember ever having problems with it. If you give me your email address I’ll relay the ad from the last time it was advertised for sale on a Norwegian site, with nice photos. I’ve saved the ad to have something nice to look at. My main car interest today circles around classic Jaguars.

    these cars are lovely but now you can see how crap they where compared to the jag now you know why the jag was used so much by villains they were a lot easer to start and did'nt need a lot of maintenance to start after not been run for a while
