I have the same heat gun and it is a very cool tool. Stuck fasteners, heat shrink, interference fits, and removing stickers all give it a place in my shop.
I have had the Dewalt heat gun since Christmas and it's nice to have as an electrician but it doesn't fully replace a corded heat gun although Dewalt doesn't claim it will to be fair. It's basically cut in half the number of times I've needed to use the corded version and a time saver when you don't have to drag out 200' of extension cord just to heat shrink a wire. It's great for small stuff
On another note I really feel like Dewalt could make a Flexvolt version that would blow the doors off of this thing, I don't care if it eats batteries, I need MOR POWAH!

Yes I got it many uses for this. I also use for plastic on Windows. You can also use if your installing vinyl floor 12x12 or plank. Sometimes you gotta heat up to cut around corners. Also use to heat up bolts/nuts when they get stuck
Good thing that ridid butane has a lifetime agreement. The lights on DeWalt are excellent, love the 30 seconds on my impact don't need to grab the flashlight Everytime

I have the Milwaukee version and I use it mainly for heat shrink tubing with the curved heat deflector.

I use heat guns when we rough in a slab and the PVC conduits need to be straightened up or off set over or something so they come up right in the walls , just curious on how long the 2 amp hour battery will take it,

I have this dewalt heatgun I love it use it a ton for Heat shrinking the most also use it for little bit of soft metal brazing actually works well for soft metal brazing Clint @ToolReviewZone

Clint, is it too strong/hot for simple shrink wrap tubing? Would it melt the wire insulation? Thanks 🤓👍
You gotta hold it back to heat the shrink wrap without burning through or melting plastic, we use heat guns for it all the time
I haven't used this dewalt gun but if it is like others it will burn or melt insulation , just move it back and forth and hold it back a couple inches to get the right heat
I have this heat gun and it certainly can melt wire insulation if you aren't careful, been there, done that. Biggest tip I have is to keep it moving and I use the Milwaukee cone nozzle attachment in tight spots

OK so in case you didn't know, you can place the heat gun onto its back on the table, heat facing up, and have both hands free to work (or prank Vince)! I use shrink tubes quite often and it's really good to have both hands free 👍

I heard this thing kinda sucks. I wanted one to use to bend offset in PVC conduit, this thing is not powerful enough I guess, which sucks.
