Hey thanks bro that was a very good step by step calibration of the Max 6. Appreciate all you do for us in the RC hobby community. Hey big thumbs 👍up to your grandmother those shock covers look awesome.

Thanks for the video I was going crazy I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong you were alot of help and your grandma definitely did her thing lol thanks again
Great video. That glitching is the result of combining a good steering servo with the cheap traxxas radio. I have 2 traxxas radios combined with savox servos and they both glitch from time to time and glitch busters didnt fix the problem..... but a sanwa radio did
Thanks for doing this video. I had trouble getting my Max6 in my Xmaxx to calibrate on the first few tries because it is a bit tricky. Your video is the first good explanation of this process I’ve seen.
U no your stuff bro thanks . On my new max 8 I had to do mine in the reverse order . Mine kept going to reverse. So do it in the reverse order nutural set. Reverse set. Then full throttle set. Turn esc off an back on . It should have forward newtural an full throttle. Thanks again bro. I have learned alot from u over the years.
Hey man great video! A little waffling towards the end off topic but didnt know that aboiut bigger esc needing to be in stop b4 rev. Tip for you: awesome sock for the shocks. Tuck the excess into the spring before putting them on the shocks and they are super tidy.

I'm a bit late. But you have any idea why my max 5 is binding throttle to the steering? I can't seem to get the throttle to even register when in programming mode on the esc.
Great video, I’d like to pick your brain more. I just bought a XMAXX from my foreman. When he went to demo it the ESC was down. We’re getting a new one from traxxas but I’d like to know more about the aftermarket connectors you’re talking about. Will they connect to traxxas batteries?
Hi, thanks for the video! Further question on the Hobbywing ESC: is is “smart” as well as the OEM that when you want to reverse an already stopped truck you do not need to brake first and then reverse but the electronics knows that the vehicle is stopped and initiate reverse for the first frint pushing of the trigger on the radio? Thanks
Great video. Question. My truck Was stored for about 6 months. Pulled her out to drive it and it won’t go full throttle. I did this and it still won’t. It seems like it’s running on low voltage cutoff. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks
Make sure your batteries are properly charged and the batteries are not bad LiPO batteries will go bad if they're not put in storage charge after use and then charge properly also make sure the speed control is calibrated correctly look up for the speed control brand that you have instructions to see how to properly calibrate that particular speed control
Hello thank you for commenting on the video and watching the video hey I found out that I was having a interference problem with my radio system it's never did it again ever to me I would strongly recommend to recalibrating your speed control and transmitter and starting their
Thanks for the detailed video.. I can’t seem to get mine working. The steering works bit can’t get it to register the throttle. When pressing the set button there is not been to say it has register neutral, forward or reverse. Any ideas what could be the issue?
Aki dude I’m having the same problem. I couldn’t get my first max 6 to calibrate and I just installed a second one with a new receiver and I still can’t get the throttle to calibrate. I have steering.
You my want to try a glitch buster, that will stop the servo glitch cause of low power our up your battery output power. Just a tip cause I had the same problem with my Hobbywing.
Ali H. I'm using the stock steering servo with a b e c voltage set at 6 volts the stock Servo cannot handle 7.4 volts you could cause damage to the servo thank you so much for watching the video it is insanely appreciated
Hello mate. I recently installed the max 6 esc on my xmaxx..but is it normal to push the trigger up to 60% before it responds to drive reverse? Did all the calibrations even all the settings with my program card..rest works flawless....🤷♂️
Do you mean like there's a delay when you go in reverse just letting you know with this speed control in the max 5 speed control you have to be to a complete stop before the speed control will engage reverse so usually there always is a delay in reverse and reverse usually is either 25% or 50% you don't get 100% throttle in reverse with hobbywing speed controls Factory their set at 25% unless you change it with the Wi-Fi module or a tuning card
Shad McDaniel possible you have a bad power switch on you speed control try to press the SET but a litte more firmly if that don't work then call hobbywing
The ESC wire needs to be plugged into the 3rd slot. Not the #2 slot like I believe you stated in an earlier video. Anyway, problem solved. Thanks for your thorough tutorials regardless.
So I push and hold set turn on esc and release set on the first beep. It keeps beeping then I don't even touch the remote and press set and it just stops beeping. No red or green light
Tyler Maloney Yes press and hold the set button and tell you see 1 red Flash from the led then let go the led will go with throdle at neutral press set 1 time the motor will beep 1 time pull the trigger to full throttle and press set the motor will beep 2 times then go full reverse and press set the motor will beep 3 Indicating the calibration is correct
Alex rc freak according to traxxas app throttle is at zero. But it won't even let me calibrate my vxl8s esc either. Been fighting with it for a week now.
Once I installed my hobby wing speed controller I started having that same steering shake issue. Never had it with the original ESC. Happens frequently especially when it is off-balance. I could really use your help trying to change the programming in it though if you could help. I also noticed by installing those that my reverse speed was cut in half. I also noticed that my punch speed or take off speed had been dialed back also. I was looking through the manual trying to figure out how to adjust all of this but for some reason it is not allowing me to adjust the punch speed nor the reverse
