Put a lot of miles on a truck just like that one.couldnt beat those mechanical Cummins engines.trucking like it was meant to be.
My late father was on the board of directors of Cummins Engine Company.
I would love to park this in my garage,I'm a retired O/Operator with looking for a old truck to pamper
I would love too see Tim Gentry end up with this truck and show it some Gentry Love!! Looks like a great truck that has been well cared for. I drove trucks in my younger years and I still miss it sometimes.
Hi Dutchsince sent me. Retired trucker, hung up my keys after 15 years over the road.
my monies on Gentry & Sons...
but my dad drove a Canadian military Flc 120 identical to some day. I love the big steering wheels. I will be putting a big wheel in my truck. I'm looking for a good true old wheel. I don't feel it's trucking without them.
but I've always had a love affair for your ol girl Kurt. Glad to see your moving her on before she wastes away in a driveway.
love the videos.
A machine like this deserves respect almost like it's a living thing....She's a beauty.
Kurt, the old girl looks damn good,I'm getting flashbacks of my 80 cabover MARMON,big cam 400,cummins,13,speed,keep on truckin my friend...lol.
Sad, but at least she is going to family. This is a beautiful truck and well loved, and is going to a good home. My son left a paper mess when he moved out( he just turned 23 yr on Monday) I started going through them and it was the same as you finding Lil Buds papers. Brings a smile and a tear..😊
Was great to see Uber Dad and crew, plus Millie 😢❤
😊👋hi family 🦮🐕🦺🌈
It might make a good dump truck for local hauling.
Transported me back to my 20s in an instant looking at those gauges. Very nice truck. thanks.
You got to do what you got to do. Troy was doing his own version of paperwork. Say what you will but them older trucks are the best trucks. That coffin sleeper brings back memories
I agree I run a 82' 359 otr and love every second of it
I'd love to have it sir I have a 1981 freightliner cabover I'd give it a good home and treat it like it should be but my old girl is starting to be a bit hard on this 60 year old no power steering no air ride no ac but I'll never sell her
Thank you Kurt for this week. You helped us lots!
Hi Ann Schmidt sorry about your dog
Mrs. Schmidt, So sorry for you & Pop Schmidt's loss, I know you've heard about all what 1 would say regarding loss of a fur baby, just keep looking forward and remember all the smile's that Millie put on everyone's faces.
Praying for y'all 🙏
Greetings Ann I hope you & Dave are holding up ok..... Millie will be missed
We miss her so much! She was so smart & a ppl to us. Sadly missed but I have to realize God has a purpose for everything. Millie wasn't sick one day of her life. Unexpected & so fast. Crossing that rainbow bridge , she will be there 1st thing, to meet us, at the right time. Thank you for your kind thoughts for us in our time of sorrow.
I love those raised white letter tires. Such a sharp look.
Always hard to say goodbye to good memories. I hope it goes to a good home and they take good care of it like you did
Please tell your Mom & Dad they're in our prayers! We know their hearts are broken and the house is too quiet. Losing a beautiful, loving, loyal pup hurts very deeply and effects everyone! 🙏🙏🐾
The old truck would make a great grain hauler for a farmer
Brother, I know that hole that is left when one of our furry loved ones leave us. To be honest I got a little misty eyed when Millie was enjoying life. My prayers are with your mom and dad
Hello Don nice pic
You're doing a good thing, Kurt. Rather than let Someday rot in place, you're passing her on to another driver. Better yet that it's family. That's a nice tradition.
Some Day should bring top dollar. Stay safe my friend. God bless you all. 🙏
That freight liner wow what a stunner this was your pride and joy it’s really sad
What I admire is your honesty and your openness
It’s very difficult and hard to say goodbye to a member of the family
I hope you can sell Some Day. There's a buyer for every truck.
It still is a good looking truck anyone would be lucky to get it.
I like it. You did a good job cleaning it up and getting it ready for sale. I enjoyed this video thanks for sharing.
Simply a Classic thanks for sharing i know that sold fast thats definitely a dream to have something like that.... one day if tha LORD say the same
Really nice looking Freight Shaker!!
Have an grate night
You wont have any problem selling that truck. Farmers making the transition from gravity wagons and grain trucks will pay full price now because everything is priced out of sight. The set back front axle helps them make it in and out of tight spots. I still have the first conventional I ever bought. It's all factory 1987 Freightliner 250" WB with a 425 Cat with Jake Brakes. 1.8 million miles and it's nice enough we just done an in frame on it. It's been plated for every state for 30 years and has seen most of them, but not anymore. just can't put it to pasture 😂
Kurt were you on 70 east bound in St Charles Mo earlier today..
Sad to see her go but it was just sitting there like you say. I think.you should consider the same same with the beautiful camper. We just sold our camper when we.went 2 years and.realized we had camped in it less than 10 days.
Eccles. 3:1...it's time...move on...keep the memories...jus sayin...luv the vids...be well..🙂...
@@writeme4316 I hope this goes thru...I b 'techy' challenged ! Lol...
Hard decision for sure Kurt. Might as well have someone else use it & get some work out of it. Great memories. I cried when your dad, the daycare kiddos & Millie stopped over. That was so cute when they all left in the golf cart. We do miss her. Such a good doggie. 💕
That's what life's about making the hard decisions and making it work. "Some Day" will be put back to work instead of just waiting for some day to come!
I like the big cam 400 Cummings we had three of them in ford's and we ran recaps for many years because they were cheaper than new ones easier to fix when they were always in and out of the landfill, great video keep up the good work God bless from GA
I'm very familiar with Los Luna's NM . Born an raised in ABQ. In the mid 70s I drove truck too ! Sorry you've decided to sell your rig . Good luck !
Awesome drawing
I absolutely love 3:73 gears. I drove a 379, C15 550 with an 18 and 3:73s. It would climb a tree.
One sexy Frieghtliner, I sure wish I had the money to buy it, take it easy now.
Amen Some Day is a very nice truck and I wouldn't mind driving here or anything very nice truck Kurt
Kurt that is a good looking shaker powered by Cummins which I love easy to work on its a good looking ride. Be safe hope ya get back on the road soon.🤙🙏🇺🇸🤙
KURT THE WOOD LAZER CARVING I WOULD BE INTERESTED MY DAD HAD A B MODEL MACK IT WAS CANDY APPLE RED HE HAD IT DONE IT WAS BEAUTIFUL !! 2 YEARS B4 HE PASSED AWAY HE HAD A NEW PET CONDO YOU NAME IT IT HAD IT HE PASSED IN 1996 ! GOD BLESS MUCH RESPECT MY TRUCKER 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏
Some would say, "A truck is just a tool, something to use for work. A chrome plated hammer with a leather handle won't pound nails any better than a cast iron head with a wood handle.
If the tool gets too old and costs too much to make a profitable return, then sell.
A truck is used to get You to where you want to be, not just where the shipper wants it to be.
What a good girl Millie was, my Lucy is over 9 years old. It'll be a sad day for me when she's gone.
Hello Brian nice pic
Just a little 10lbs. Monster
@@brianadams429 i'm Debbie, nice to meet you. Will you take me fishing someday😊
Nice truck, sorry to see her go.
Drove the same exact truck for Stoops Express.
A thing of beauty!!
That's SWEEEET shaker. She'll probably live her days out on a farm hopefully. If I bought it the sleeper be taken off, tag axle hydraulic tank on, pull a side dump
Oak Grove Missouri is where you got the steering wheel.
Sweet old well cared for Freightshaker! I'm sure it will give someone years more dependable service. Nice video!👍👍
Very well done video, best of luck the truck, hope the family member buys it.
I K ow That Smell ..... Yes Sir Ree ...The Smell of back when. TRUCKS were Real ...Hey Hi and Howdy Hero... Cleveland Tenn waivin a Hand ✋️ from Eloy Arizona
If Gentry and Sons trucking see this. They may buy it but I really can’t say. You may still see it on their RUclips channel. They have a passion in running old classic trucks. Though it is hard to sell something that’s been with the family for a long time. Though as long it sells within the family. You will still see it. Here’s the thing, that truck might come back to you before you know it. You’ll never know how but it sometimes happens. Hope everything goes well and stay safe once you start your journey on the road again.
Hello Jack nice pic
Amazing as always. God bless you all
Some Day you have too say goodbye, even after 36 years wow.
Contact Tim at Gentry and son’s Trucking, he might want the old Freight shaker.
That's better than anything TIM GENTRY GOT!!!
Or Steve @ FSC trucking
@@michaelgreen4838 That's for sure!
@@michaelgreen4838 I wouldn’t sell it to Tim he will have it ripped apart sitting in the weeds at his farm . telling all his subscribers that’s he going to do this and that and it will never be completed. He’s already taking about ripping apart the white cab over that he stupidly traded the w900 in on
Hi I’m a new subscriber,Dutchsinse sent us over ! He had lots of good stuff to stay about you! I’m sorry to hear your selling your Truck ,it’s beautiful! Also I’m sorry to hear about your loss about losing your mom! Hugs! It’s the hardest thing to lose a parent ,it’s will be 2 years on Xmas that my mom passed!
Anyway that was so cute seeing your dad and the grandkids with the Cute dog going for a ride on the cart with grandpa! Those will be good memories for those kids!✨🙏🏻🥰✨God Bless!
So sorry for your parents and your family's loss. Our fur babies are family and it hurts when they go. One day at a time and remember the good times.
Good luck on the truck.
Sometimes you have to let your vehicles go and cherish the memories from those years that you drove her Kurt good decision in my humble opinion buddy I hope you're all keeping safe and well too Kurt
Definitely like the old girl. And the name someday just makes me chuckle, as I said one day I'm going to get me one of them trucks again, but a camper on the back rails and do my final days just enjoying driving to different places and staying on the camper
One of the first trucks I drove was Some Day with the set forward axle. That was with Southwest Motor Freight. No power steering but her and I put some miles down. You and the family have an awesome week 😎
OH MY WORD KURT ITS GORGEOUS WOW I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT !! GOD BLESS BROTHER 🙏🙏🙏
Great video I love the part that Opie went with your dad to play with the babies
Thats a beautiful picture of first class!!!!
The memories you have in that ol' freightshaker mzkes her priceless!!!!!!!! Shes a beautiful truck just the wat she is, i hope to someday be able to have an older truck like that to use for personal use, not pound the highways in
Boy spent a few hours in a bunk that size, they say the good ole days. Yup it would be hard to sell a truck that you still had a connection with. I am not and was never a fan of those Freight Shakers. I did drive a Western Star with recessed front axle and you could not beat them in the snow. Did a lot of driving in the snow with it. Well I hope your W-900 comes back soon and you sell your freight shaker. Let it sit for 5 years kind of says a lot of good memories there. Anywho have a great and a safe day, happy trails…
Bro to buy this guy a beer an just talk about trucks an life, I'd pay lots of money for that. What a cool cat
Back in the day my first truck was an international 4200 the next one was a freightliner with the cop and sleeper but I’m 70 years old now but I still miss Truckin I’m working to try to find either 4200 international freight liner Cowboy over for a freightliner conventional old school told my Toy Haulier someday was a nice looking truck there buddy
Old school truck. 😁
If I wasn't 70yrs and full of rods &screws. I'd buy her Love that style Freightliner 😉!!
😭 glad you're keeping it in the family though.
I drove a 1985 just like that for W.R.Grace pulling a smooth bore tanker all over the U.S.,it was a great truck! Good luck!!
Drove for WR GRACE out of N.J , they still had cabover freightliners and Kenworths early 1980's
I drove cabover freightliner , truck number 480
@@philcatonio2433 I ran out of Watseka Illinois, I don't remember what number it was,I do remember the first new truck I got in 1979 was a cab over Frieghtliner #446!Sometime in 1986 I got a new T600 KENWORTH
I'm interested in the Lazer cut plaque for some of my fleet
It’s easily 10k a year to keep a reserve truck. And sitting idle certainly does not help them, especially when you need it right away. I figured it would cost me far less in lost time on a breakdown than keeping a back up rig.
Awesome Some Day memories! I find it funny when my husband demonstrates me driving my truck he always has his hands out like it's those old steering wheels. Ha. I can't believe you're selling Some Day. I understand, just didn't think you'd sell the girl. So many memories. Love the drive around town in Some Day. Good video!
you will miss the old girl but that won't last long. just think of the room you will have. less worry about something rusting away in the back yard. Sometimes you have to let go of the old to make room for new. Good luck with the sale. Tomorrow I move. I can't wait until it's over and done. lol
Some Day has had it's day, now it's off to someone new.
Be good to keep the frieghtliner in the family some were at least you could still get to see it and they would look after it to best of luck to
I need to do what you are doing we have a 1972 IH 4200 with a big slipper on it and a 1976 IH 4070B with under 200,000 miles on it and a 1996 IH 9400 with under 700,000 miles on it and a 1996 Peterbilt ex hood all just setting any more. Should sell them the market is good I think . Love watching your videos.
I love that truck! I did not know Freightliner came out with the front axel set back on them. It sure makes her look mean BUT still a looker.
Cool Pic of First Class. Stay Safe.
Cool old truck Kurt ! I like a freightshaker ! Be a good old rig for some one . God bless ya brother . Thanks .
I know it would cost alot of money to get back on the road but it would be cool to see!
U gotta do whats best for u n glad some day will stay in the family
what a beautiful truck. That front shot you did reminded me of that scene from Terminator 2 before the terminator arrived. not gonna lie i would luv to afford a truck like this and begin my owner op adventure with it.
It's not easy to get rid of the ole truck that got ya started. My first truck was a 66 GMC COE.. I kept it around after I grew the company.. until one day a driver of mine wanted it to haul sileage trailer with..
Where's that Crackerbox now?
Hello Hugh nice pic
@@debbiejohn5380 Odd you only say Hi to the men with pics & none of the women
O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🥰 Dude, I’m glad to see Some Day getting some attention, but selling her?!?! I’m shocked! I hope that your family member does buy her! Then you will still be able to see her whenever you want.😎 I share your feelings on this. It’s such a pretty truck…primer & all. I like a set-back axle truck.🥰 My brother had one that was a single axle & integrated sleeper. What a truck! All those memories in that truck….make sure you have some good pics of the truck & maybe even write those stories down. You can sure get attached to a truck, especially if you think about where it came from, all the time you spent in it, reflecting on the things in your life around the truck, etc. It hits you right in the “soft spot”. I’m that way with my REO. I started driving this truck when I was about 5 years old & I spent a lot of time with my dad & big brother riding around in it. Such sweet memories…good & bad both!😏 Here’s what my REO looks like now…ruclips.net/video/iMl4rMkvxxo/видео.html Well, I’m not sure what to say, but it’s good that you have given a family member the 1st refusal option. I RESPECT that! 🤩 Hope that you’re enjoying your time off…as much as you can. Is that what really got you to thinking about selling it? I know that when a truck sits…a lot of things start happening to it, even the smell of it changes. 😳 Take care my friend. Remembering Millie. 😔 Blessings! 🥰🇺🇸✌️
@UCj9ioLesiDS4FPsDB9Qtynw 🇺🇸 Is this you, Tim?
I love that truck. Wish I could buy it man but yeah probably can't afford it. Of course I'm just a few minutes into the video haven't heard the price, 👍🇺🇸🚛
Mr. Kurt, could you do a Millie Angel sticker? Charge extra for it and any profits go to an Animal Charity of your parents choice, in her memory.
How ya doing Kurt, man i loved them big cam 400, 444 and tt 475 engines, besides being uber reliable they were powerful and if ya broke down you could repair them with a paper clip, a wad of gum and some foil paper 😬.
You gotta do what ya gotta do.
God bless you and all the loved one's.
I love the old big steering wheels
How much I like that look
I think you're making the right decision to sell Some Day rather than letting her set and deteriorate more. It would be great if a family member was to buy her and get some things fixed and maybe back on the road. I just gave my 1979 Chevy pickup to my nephew up in Montana. He's going to fix a few things and be a extra vehicle for the family. I'm glad it's staying in our family.
Do not sell that Shaker unless it is to family. If you are worried about money downsize on the dually pickup truck.
Good luck
Time to turn the page of life. A lot of good memories during this time and they will always be cherished. Now to move on and know that you did well.
I love this guy's honesty. Thanks man. 😊
I love a studio sleeper
Hello Mitch nice pic
Thank you for taking me along for a ride down memory lane. We hit mid forties here in Kentucky tonight. 45 in September feels so much colder than 45 in January, or is it just me?
Yeah same. Anybody been outside of there natural area in the usa knows this anytime of year!
Nice Truck sir...
I still run a 87 flc I'd love to have it, mine is a set forward axle. Takes 10acres to turn it around
I wouldn’t be afraid to run the old girl up and down the highway. My dad and I had a 88 freightliner with a set back front axle but it had the single headlights. Awesome truck Kurt 🤠. Millie you will be missed 🥲. How much do you want for your freightliner ?
