- hello everyone, sorry for the delay in upload but have been busy behind the scenes doing other stuff and preparing for college bc it starts for me later in the month.
as per viewer suggestion, i reviewed Lore Game by iaKuro3 and i thought it was a unique take on the RPG genre i'd never really seen on ROBLOX before in its world, NPCs, and even some mechanics, i feel it lacks too many RPG elements in the aspects of keeping players engaged to be considered a real member of the category as a whole, but i thought it was a worthwhile play nevertheless.

You know, this game gives fantastic frontier vibes: a small community passionate about the game and a world that is full of secrets and wonders.
yeah but that game has bad mechanics and isnt playable for more than 5 minutes of laughing at it before playing the game you actually intended

Agreed, there use to be a reference to the strangeman with the whole "no whammy" althought I believe it might have just be coincidence :(
tightly knit my ass, i was chilling in some random coliseum trying to practice fighting and all the players there ganked me for wanting to join their fight because i needed to learn how the game worked. they bullied me for no reason other than to feed their fragile ego. shout out to one random bacon hair tho, i will forever remember the adventures we had with eachother. also cooking system is so fucking cool i love berry slushie

It's a great game, amazing ambience, it FEELS like what it wants to be, and that's beautiful
only bad part is that kuro doesn't wanna work, slowly but surely the beautiful lore and content the clans produce in the community will wither, lore game is stagnating rn at best since kuro is done with it, and that sucks for such a complex and beautiful world
The whole purpose for progressing memories is to unlock new areas in the starting area that will eventually lead you to Layer 5 alongside a section that literally turns Lore Game into an improvised horror game

roblox needs more reviews like this. i played this game a long time ago but got turned off by the combat, though i dont think the action is the focus at all
def not, it's just my opinion that the exploration alone wasn't really enough to carry my interest in it to its end

@@cellpigeon unfortunately lore game couldnt carry his interest until its end. if the promise of a game that frankly bores you is that "it gets good i swear" that isnt much of a payoff, like me. i fought a boss, the one who drops the uhhh face armor with the door that closes slowly, but i found no real jolt in interest from it because i wasnt presented any combat challenges before this, and from what ive gathered. lore games combat is mostly pvp when it gets more complex.
i dont really care if its "not like other rpgs", these things are still a flaw, i encountered 2 essian types as an enemy and could kill both using an axe. with no other gear i feel lore game presents no combat challenge
However.
i do think lore game is good for complex lore and puzzles. unfortunately it doesnt present itself in a way thatd attract people who would like those.
Lore game is a game that you either love to fucking death or it’s just meh. If you don’t like it don’t play it, and maybe come back after a while. However, even after all that my best advice is to just play, and not expect anything out of it. Don’t expect some big payout or reward. Just explore.
i loved your review my mans, and definitely agree with a lot of ur points! especially when it comes to content / replayability. unfortunately with this game being content dependant, its got no replayability apart from pvp and fashion (aka no replayability). theres a few things i wanted to clarify but if anyone has more questions just lmk :))
about equipment, my goal was to make sure a player with nothing but a sword would have a decent chance against anyone! the drip should come before stats imo, but atm theres metas in pvp, which hopefully i can balance in the coming patches...
i agree 100% with the door puzzle, i still regret having made it so difficult..... luckily enough theres no other puzzle of such pain
lore games main goal is recalling all abilities. theres a character who tells you how far along you are, but its definitely a subtle goal!
regarding skills, definitely give them and other weapons a shot. a part of the fun is exploring different weapons and their abilities, alongside the combos / mind games you can do! in case you didnt know, you can change your weapons cosmetics and stance at anchors. (the stone statue dudes)

your channel is the absolute best for reviews, the 10 min video format is perfect for being both engaging and detailed
i think this is a great game and people have to know where to take critisism and put their own experiences aside for a non biased take so i respect all the points you put out. but unfortunatly there are a few things i would like to take into consideration. for example lore game bases its identity on being a weirdly cramped and atmospheric game. this leads to huge evens being even bigger and even just areas feeling monumental. also have you fought any of the bosses yet? the combat is a huge part of lore game and with the latest most recent boss it almost completly changes how people used to see the games bosses. the darkness is used to hide secrets and paths you would otherwise never have found and when you do find it it is incredibly rewarding. the game is not based around player retention and the developer wants a community based around people who collectively hate the modern roblox game meta. the developer does seem to take an interest in deepwoken but aside from the vitamin system, various foods and possible references with "the deep" lore game is based on made in abyss, an anime about exploring a dark chasm of the abyss that goes further down in layers. you truly have to see everything in lore game for it to stick with you but when it does it will never leave your mind ever again.
i wish lore game provided more of a combat challenge on earlier stages of the game,

Would be cool to see a Fantastic Frontier review, but it should be aware, game will eventually receive (hopefully this year) its largest update ever, that players in the community have been WAITING OVER 3 YEARS FOR "3 years max" . But joking about that to the side, the update would make the game over twice as large as it currently is while also polishing and changing older things.

Memories progress by finding runes (the eye drawings). Once you have enough memory, a cave called the Blind Chasm opens up.

I started playing lore game when I broke my leg and had to stay in bed for a long while. I think that really help me get into the game, I had nothing better to do so might as well check another corner, look on another rooftop. There could be something there, and most of the time there was. And I really loved that. At that time I hadn't really played a game on Roblox that had so many secret areas. If you look at it as mmorpg it will fail its more of a exploration game with hints combat. Because I think the meat of the game is not the combat but the world it self. After playing it for months while my leg healed I still kept on find secrets, new areas, new mechanics and many, many accessories and gears. I think that exploring became my quest after a short while and that's what kept me going. Lore game encouraged it by not having all its items in one place, if you want the drip you have to find the drip master or else you'll be dripless. But yeah after I found all the areas I could in the game I still played for while but I eventually quit. I don't think that makes lore game bad by any means, but I just wish there was more. Lore game will forever be one of my favorite games on Roblox.

Love this review! He gets the loneliness and nothingness is part of the game, making the game lose it's spark overtime. The story left unfinished, no push to do anything. That's the reason I can't forget my experience unlocking my memories. In the darkness you find a sense of joy finding new things. As for the story, it'll stay a mystery(hopefully) as it's so fun to be given parts of a story that doesn't tell anything. The past, lost to the void where everything comes to be forgotten...

I love exploration type games! Abyss World comes to mind but even non exploration focused games like Arcane odyssey scratch this itch for me with their environments.
you need to think in a specific way to find secrets in this game.

Combat goes really deep into pvp and I think its unfair to say the combat is bad just because pve is mediocre, which I mean at least it works.

I loved the game but I could get a very limited playtime due to my low-end device. People were very friendly, too bad my lag made me never enter the game again.

I was lucky enough to play the game during it's prime, best experience I ever had the only thing really driving me was the boredom and basically wanting to get everything and once you get everything theres nothing left to do apart from the sewers event or the competition hosted by admins and devs.

Only thing i wish of lore game that it would be bigger the game feels really unfinished. The only boss their really is is the door guardian and when youve beated it youre in layer 5 but nothing goes beyond layer 5?

Great vid! I'd suggest making your profile character cut in a circle because the sharp edges on the photo makes the video quickly and badly made.

Idk whether it’s just gatekeeping or just people who think they’re doing a good thing, but if anyone new asks anything, even just like a direction to go or what something is like how to dye armour or something, the community just blatantly and outright refuses to help in the slightest, it is a massive turn off and extremely frustrating
make a vid about this game called crons fighting game its a rogue lineage type copy game that the owner refuses to make more updates partly cuz of the community but back in 2020 was its golden era

lore game is good, its very fun, you get skins, get nice clothes, explore for like 3-4 hours..... or 5+ hours.... Then you retire, Either relax at bulwalk or whatever its called, or you quit and hope for an update, if you keep exploring, it gets less rewarding, and harder to explore because you have seen every path, its a great game overall ;) but after a while it feels like the backrooms

hey spirited i got a question this year what is one of the best roblox games you played
tough choices! I think the most recent game in general i liked was scotomaphobia bc it's unlike any other thing i've played on the platform and it makes for a fun challenge (just don't tempt yourself w/ looking up answers lol). but the most influential to me rpg-wise was probably the original Swordburst, it basically pioneered the new age of these sorts of games on the platform and i'll be honest when i say 2016 me grinded my ass off playing that

my only complaint i have is your lack of better sound quality. Your voice is so quiet that background noises irl like rain make it hard to even descern what you're on about, and thats with max volume settings,i cant go any further and i still struggle to make out what youre saying

the games fun but theres a quest where you have to get most of the runes for a weapon thats mid at most (the banjo)
That quest is entirely optional. You can literally get the banjo in a different ( FAR easier way ). The quest giver literally says where it is. So no, its not necessary

Lore Game is less an RPG, and more an exploration game. The reason you didn't find it fun, is because the main aspect that makes it fun is player interaction.
