the issue with the chiefs is they've looked average all year. they won a decimated miami team that wanted no part of sub zero weather, and a decimated bills team. the ravens game was impressive. the chiefs have looked better defensively in the post season, but their offense still isnt lighting things up. idk. the 49ers were by far the best team for most of the regular season, though yes they've looked worse the last several weeks. but they do have easily the best roster in the nfl. the chiefs are great against the pass not good against the run. as long the 49ers keep the run game going, i wouldnt be confident in the chiefs. im not saying the 49ers are going to win, but i wouldnt confidently bet either team.
The 9ers didn't really impress either coming out slow against Green bay and eeking out a comeback against Detroits 23rd ranked Defense. Both games at home. They can't afford to get down early in this game with KC's defense playing lights out in 2nd half. If they start the game on the ground and stick with it, they can make it close. For SF believers, here's some fuel. 1. Josh Allen had a guy wide open in the end zone late in that game . 2. Buffalo ran all over the Chiefs defense. 3. Most of the talk all week has been about the 49ers. Trying to figure out or show how badly most people hope the 49ers will win by convincing themselves that it can actually happen. That is Not good. You will see why. Enough talk. Its time to play the damn game!!
Colin mentions "the 49ers gave up over 30 points THREE TIMES this season." Wow, as if that is a lot. One of those times was to the Lions when they got a garbage TD late, so really it's two, but either two or three means--they do not give up a lot of points! 70% of the games this season, they gave up 21 or less, more often than not WAY less. The poor defensive play is way, way exaggerated--people forget to look at their overall performance over the course of the entire year. They're now rested for two weeks.

Purdy is a game manager at best. He's gonna unravel under the brightest lights. He had a game on Monday Night Football on Christmas night vs the Ravens with the whole world watching and he melted down. He just has all world position players around him. Best running back, best fullback, best left tackle and that's not counting Deebo, Kittle, and Aiyuk. People can't even name Mahomes second best reciever and Colin is exactly correct about their defense, they're EXTREMELY underrated

The difference in this game aside from the gap at QB is the difference at D coordinator. Wilks is subpar and the defense has been springing leaks like crazy lately while Spags has been there done that. That’ll be the difference.
This game will be tight. SF will have success putting pressure on Mahomes and drawing holds. SF will also run the ball on KC a lot. KC will win the turnover battle and Butker will be the difference. Go Chiefs.
The chiefs played Easton Stick, lost to O’Connell and Russ. Their schedule not that tough either. And don’t forget Andy Reid lost 3 NFC championships in a row and then lost Super Bowl after finally winning nfc championship in 4th trip. Got piped against Tampa without scoring a TD. Andy Reid is not this edge people claim him to be.

These guys never learn. They praised the Ravens defense talking about what they did prior to losing to KC and now they’re praising KC defense based on what they did prior. Every game is about that game not what was done previously.

The Under feels like a trap. This could be a game with a lot of offense. I would bet the Over because it is the Super Bowl.
If the 9ers played KC 17 times the 9ers would lose 14 of those games. KC would continue to get better. The 9ers would co tinue to get worse. 2 time SB Champion vs 2nd year 1st S.B Rookie. KC is going to Spank the 9ers wire to wire.
If Sf had cruised through the last 2 games i would be more worried about them facing KC. but i believe there is something to be said about being battle tested in these playoffs. what will SF do if they fall behind ? the same thing they did the last 2 games attempt to battle back with their QB making off scheduled plays. The one mark against this SF team was they had a glass jaw that if you it them hard enough they would go down and stay down. meanwhile this KC team has been moving through these playoffs on cruise control were the defense takes over and the game is over in the second half. reminds me of SF before they were put in a position were they had to make a comeback on the biggest stage. more curious to see what this years KC offense will look like if they fall behind in the second half
For SF believers, here's some fuel.
1. Josh Allen had a guy wide open in the end zone late in that game .
2. Buffalo ran all over the Chiefs defense.
3. Baltimore, despite ignoring the Chiefs' obvious weakness, we're more interested in making LJ the hero instead of winning the game and still only trailed by 10 in the 4th quarter.
4. Baltimore had 2 real threats. LJ and Flowres. Sneed can only cover 1 guy at a time. SF has 2 real wrs and CMC .

KC lost to the Packers AND the Lions. Both of whom the 49ers beat. Everyone talking about KC's great pass defense and blitzes, like that's going to stop the 49ers' run game. Like Spag is going to figure out how to contain CMC AND Deebo AND Mitchell AND Kittle for the whole game. Not to mention Aiyuk and Jennings.
And after the game against the Lions, Spag now has to factor in Brock Purdy running for 1st downs when they take away his receivers.
It's not usually wise to bet against Mahomes, but I think this 49ers team is going do a lot better than most people think.
