Yeah but you know I picked one up with just under 100K miles on it 7 years ago put 30K miles on it and have replaced nothing but one ignition coil, oil and filters.

Muscle memory does weird things sometimes, and at least he intended to go for the breaks lol There have been a few times where Im driving an automatic and I go to push the clutch in and end up just slamming on the breaks instead lol Making everybody around me, including myself, urinate themselves.
The Top Gear guys have a history of using epic music routines with their car films... Love it!

Ironically, 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo only makes 29 more hp than the old Turbo S tested here but has has a full 1.5 second faster 0-60 time (3.6 vs 5.2). It all comes down to the weight. The current one is a bit more than 400 lbs lighter.
Not really the weight actually, its the more aggressive shifts and launch in the newer gearboxes.

The camera work/editing (especially the airborne drop shots) in this is just incredible. Add in some epic 'Uruk Hai/Treebeard getting pissed off' soundtrack and you've made an all time classic.
The fact that Hammond crashed the Porsche into one of the camera crew's cars on the way back just makes it even funnier

Hammond is indeed the best off road tester of top gear
It's weird how the camera shutter speed matches the rotational speed of the tires exactly so that it looks like the wheels aren't even spinning.
Funny how back then every journalist said how ugly it is, fast forward to 2022 and the last decade and the Cayenne has been copied over and over and over and well you get the point! Hammond and Clarkson should now review this again now these are almost 20 years old... They're still fantastic!

That sounds like an expensive option... especially if Porsche is offering it.

@macnerd93 Top Gear did a review on car safety, which concluded that the faster the car, the more likely it is to avoid a crash thanks to its lower center of gravity and better brakes. 4x4's are the least likely to avoid a crash because evasive actions can lead to a roll-over and they require significantly more braking distance. 4x4's are therefore more likely to be involved in accidents, but very good at dealing with them once they happen. It's a catch 22.

whoever designed the interior obviously never let go of the 1970s for the fact of its all brown brown brown its horrible
Thats part of the charm! (though its caramel colored, not brown) I am switching mine from the black interior to just this color. A family SUV mostly made for the US market should be caramel colored inside. Preferrably, it should sport some wooden side veneers on the outside as well.
