the clear tube that goes into the top of the display assembly you want to make sure it DIDNT come disconnected on the servo valve or else you will be mopping water cause it will allow the drum to overflow non stop...i did it figured id pass it on great video
Thanks for this video! I don't think you mentioned that you need a 38mm socket and an impact gun to remove the nut holding the tub in. Otherwise, this was perfect, and I was able to fix my washer that the repair guy said want worth fixing. I got the part for $104 and the impact gun and socket for $60. It took me about 2.5 hours to make the repair. Thanks again, your video really helped me.
Nathan Timberlake what impact gun did you use to remove the nut that connects the tub to the clutch? I have a 38mm socket, tried rachet wrench, breaker bar and bought a ryobi impact wrench. No luck. What do you recommend?
Impact wrench is a must 38mm socket is a must I got it done the tub bolt you must get a impact wrench. I have a little rubbing on the top not sure why... Have your tools ready took about 2 hours
I've had this washer for 10 years and a month with no issues at all. Now I have a grinding sound that the whole neighborhood can hear. I purchased the clutch assembly, not for $100, a straight up OEM part for $220. Did you have any trouble getting the drum out? I've seen a lot of people having this issue. This should be a FUN weekend project.
It did, it was a bitch to replace. Removing that nut inside the tub was trying...but after applying a little heat and tapping on the wrench...it came out. Make sure you tighten that same nut really well.
Great video. Wish it included how to remove the part K040 but that is needed to remove the tub. I’m having a difficult time removing it. I have the 38mm socket and have tried using a rachet wrench, breaker bar, and even bought a ryobi impact driver. Still no luck. What do you recommend to remove this nut? What is the specs of your impact wrench if you used one. Or what did you use? I appreciate your feedback!
We have a Ingersoll Rand Twin hammer Air impact. It isn't as powerful as some of the new ones on the market. If you have anyone with a Milwaukee Fuel M18 impact I know it would do it with ease. The biggest key is holding the tub tightly so each strike of the impact does everything it can.
I have this same machine and have replaced the whole assembly. The tub still wobbles on spin and sounds like the cover on the stator is bumping something…what else could it be?? I’ve pulled the drum and saw no issues there…it sounds also like the tub is rubbing the top plastic piece also..any help would be very appreciated..
Check your washer to see if you have a Hose Clamp or Glue on the inbound side of the discharge pump. If so, that is not a factory connection. There is not supposed to be any Glue or Hose Clamps on anything according to LG. Most of the LG washers had to be reconditioned, then sold as new. The hose is 2 inches too short and the travel of the tank, to offset a lopsided load, will one day rip that hose off. I repaced 12" of drywall in my washroom. Contact the FTC.
I have this model and it is squeaking as well. I currently get the uneven load error message at 26 minutes when I do quick wash. I am able to get it spinning under no load but when I went to hit pause at full spin the agitator stopped and I heard grinding noises. Would that be a safe but that it is the clutch assembly?
I have this exact same machine, and it has started to squeak a decent amount. I really hope this isn't the cause, we already had to replace the washplate...
Out of curiosity, how long had you had this washer before the clutch failure? Also, I'll see if I can get a video up of the squeaking, so you may be able to tell if it was similar to your's. I'll keep you posted. Thanks
From what we have seen you have to buy the assembly. I would try contacting Appliance Parts Pros for further information. Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe! Appliance Parts Pros- www.appliancepartspros.com/parts.html
I have this model washer and I need to remove the top to clean it. The only video I've found showing the lid removal has a model with retaining clips and my washer does not have these. I cannot figure out how to remove the lid easily and I'm assuming I have to disconnect the electronic connector clips located inside the lower back part of the washer. Is that correct? May I please have you post a video showing how to remove the entire top lid? Thank you very much!
Are you trying to clean the top of the drum or what part are you trying to clean? To clean the top of the drum you can actually just pull the drum around side to side to access all of it. We can try to post a video of how to take the top off but it may be a while as we have a lot of other projects we are working on.
Yes, I'm cleaning the top of the drum. I can access it with the top still connected it's just not very easy and I scrape up my hands and fingers pretty bad.

My washer just died because of this last night. Thanks for the video.
Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

Did the clutch assembly work for you? I may have the same grinding issue

@@joeldykema3681I haven't had an issue in over a year and a half now.
Is this an agitator based washer or impeller?

I successfully repaired the washer! It was hard as hell but totally worth it

How did you fix that situation?
Did you figure out what was causing the inner basket to rub against the tub ring?

Great info thanks David
I have same washer with same problem. I cannot pull that part out to save my life. All screws are out but the part is stuck any ideas?

That sounds like what ours was doing, I would guess the bearings in the clutch are out.
My kenmore 700 series washer makes that same sound that your old clutch was making i guess i need new clutch
I have this exact same machine, and it has started to squeak a decent amount. I really hope this isn't the cause, we already had to replace the washplate...
Our washer did squeak a lot prior to the clutch failure.
Out of curiosity, how long had you had this washer before the clutch failure? Also, I'll see if I can get a video up of the squeaking, so you may be able to tell if it was similar to your's. I'll keep you posted. Thanks
We have had this washer six years before we had to replace the clutch.
We've had ours for a little over six years, so I'm suspected our's may fail soon, as it's really been squeaking.
That is exactly what ours was doing. Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe!
What is the part # for clutch bearing?

Would be much more helpful if you showed how you got it off
YES I’ve been fighting with mine and I’m thinking I need to remove the bottom of the tub plate to get the motor out
