Hey LiteWeights! The copyright on this one was a NIGHTMARE, so I'm sorry that I had to cut so much out, but it is the only way I could get it to not be blocked! If you'd like to see the full version you can find it on my Patreon (it should be up tomorrow) www.patreon.com/liteweightgames
The next reaction will be another Christopher Nolan film - Inception which will be posted on February 7th!
And if your interested in my first experience with the Batman franchise you can watch my First Play Through of the Batman Arkham games and the TellTale Batman games on my other channel - you can find a link in the video card or go to: ruclips.net/user/liteweightgaming
As someone from Latam that 2/7 surprised me at first. I was like, wait july 😂
maybe a transparent overlay over the movie image would help it get past copyright detectors
This is Nolan’s take in the Batman origin. Yes.
@LiteWeightReacting Look up the composer of the score and that extensive body of work that makes up a vast amount of most people's favorite films!
2nd... If ur gonna watch intermittent Nolan Movies with the Dark Knight Trilogy... Do so with the ACTUAL movies he made between each Batman film!! Between Begins and Dark Knight was THE PRESTIGE!!! UR GONNA LOVE THIS ONE!! Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman as rivaling magicians?! 😮 (The rules set up in this movie's storyline, he masterfully used in his own filmmaking on INCEPTION... a hint to help ya figure a very ambiguous ending) After Dark Knight, of course, was Inception... Which WILL break ur brain 1st viewing, BUT... Remember the rules from Prestige!😊
Finally, sum homework... catch up with the Batman: No Man's Land comic series run (RUclips Comicstorian or Comis Explained for that story visualized) and Cliff's Notes the novel A Tale Between Two Cities b4 jumping into Dark Knight Rises!! ... Which has Nothing to do with why my best buddy and I got to be extras in a major scene in that film... Which you'll never hear the National Anthem the same way again 🫨
Zack Snyder Trilogy.
"And you'll never have to". Best Batman moment of the film.
So so great!
@@LiteWeightReacting hi, just came across your channel. Would you be so kind as to react to the First Blood series ? At least the first 3 parts
That exchange between them is the whole Batman/Gordon relationship perfectly summed up in 10 words.
Crane: "Call me Scarecrow..."
Rachel: "How about Taserface?"
Nice Guardians reference hahaha
@@LiteWeightReacting it's metaphorical!
@@LiteWeightReacting the scarf had his blood on it from being punched in the bar, so I don't think he wanted to leave his DNA on him, since he told the homeless man that they were going to be looking for him.
@@havok6280what was your second choice?!
"Why is Taser Face..?"
This movie portrays the death of the parents the best. There's something about the abrupt chaos that happens in seconds after Thomas trying his hardest to calm the situation. It doesn't drag out the deaths. It doesn't try to be overly dramatic. It happens so fast that a part of Bruce's problem is that he's never given the time to grief and cope. It goes from death to funeral in a flash to Bruce. You can see how he could hold on to that. How his view on life and death means so much more to him because to him, life could be over in seconds.
You hit the nail on the head Julian! Thanks for sharing!
@@LiteWeightReacting looking forward to TDK. I'm actually more interested in your TDKR reaction since you are familiar with Batman lore. Watching your Arkham videos now.
dude well said
"you find yourself wishing the person you loved never existed - your anger makes you strong" Liam Neeson to Bruce Wayne. So powerful and resonates with me. Little did poor Liam know that just a few years later he would actually lose his wife in real life😢
Omg really? That’s horrible ☹️
Word.
My cuz and I were/are Liam fans, and you can see how he just started making movies a lot more. Like... a lot, a lot more. When his wife passed.
If you watch Love Actually, you will see bit of it.
Oh wow I didn’t know that :(
Yeah. I’m not all that familiar with Natasha Richardson’s work. I could just tell you she played the mother of Lindsey Lohan’s twin characters and Dennis Quaid’s love interest/ex wife in the Parent Trap remake. 😊
Some sort of brain bleed after a skiing accident if I remember correctly. Neeson buried himself in his work. I can’t really blame him. He did better than my dad did after my mom died.
The flying on rooftops bit was by far the most Batman thing you can say about Batman
🤣
😎👍
This is actually my favorite of the trilogy, because it highlights Bruce's background as an honest-to-god freaking ninja. As a fellow martial artist, I think it really made Batman more accurate to the comics. Him hiding in the shadows, using his environment, showing that he's more than just a suit and "wonderful toys". The other two movies (as well as every other movie, I suppose) never really do a great job of showcasing his martial arts training enough.
I think you highlighted a really cool point! I had never really seen that so it was cool!
This is definitely what's missing for me in most renditions of Batman, he's supposed to be so good at that kind of thing that people don't even think he's human at first, which is what makes him terrifying
@@hellomark1 Yup - and it's not me hating on the others in the trilogy! I love them! I do just love Bruce being also able to showcase his martial arts, not just be the "world's greatest detective".
Thomas in 2005 "Don't be afraid"
Thomas in 2016 "Martha"
WHY DID U SAY THAT NAME
People praise The Dark Knight and rightly so but this is my favorite Batman movie.
That’s awesome! I can’t wait to see what the hype is about with the Dark Knight!
The Dark Knight is amazing, but all 3 of the Nolan Batman films are great. Personally, I wasn't a big fan of Batman begins until I rewatched it again during the Dark Knight Rise premiere. It's a origin film, so it's a bit slower than the other 2 film BUT it's pretty good regardless
Nolan did such a great job with the origin story of how Bruce became Batman and the reasons from his parents murder to his fear of bats.
I loved it! Really can’t wait to see The Dark Knight now!
@@LiteWeightReacting The Dark Knight is the best superhero film ever made in my opiniom and with the best performace of a certain villian ever.
@@danorm87 True. Even if "The Batman" is the best batman movie specifically in my eyes, Nolans batman is certainly one of the best if not the best superhero trilogy. And the villain in 2 and 3 are dope.
You’ll love this trilogy, Lite! Thank you for sharing your reaction with us!
Loved this first movie! And can’t wait to see what the hype is about with the Dark Knight!
In "Dark Knight Rises" a little role have Teal'c :)
“You burned my house and left me for dead. Consider us even.”
Most people seem to find this weird, but it makes sense. Bruce burned Ra’s Al Ghul’s home and left him (or who he thought Ra’s was) for dead. In his mind, he saved Ducard.
Anyhow, love this reaction! You earned yourself a new subscriber 🎉
Awesome! Thanks for the sub! I do think it makes sense too!
Thank you for this comment. This is the first time anyone has ever made that line make any sense to me.
I love this trilogy more than anything marvel for sure. A super gritty and realistic take on a gritty and realistic hero. Glad you liked it too 😊
I loved it! Can’t wait to see what the hype is about with the Dark Knight!
So many great one liners in this film. "It's not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me." also "Does it come in black?" Another wonderful video Lite!
Thanks Alex! Love that quote too! Thanks for watching and sharing!!
I just found your channel, through this video specifically. I also just subscribed...
You get it. I've seen many reactions to this movie but I think yours might be my favorite so far, because you get what the movie makers were trying to do and you clearly know your stuff (I'm not saying everyone should know everything about Batman before watching this, but some people seemingly don't even know his origin story, like, perhaps the most famous superhero origin story ever! Anyway...).
Long story short, I'm very happy you enjoyed watching this movie, and I really enjoyed watching you enjoy it and I look forward to watch more of your videos :3
Thank you!!! Glad you’ve been enjoying the channel so far! New vid will post this week! Aiming for Wednesday but copyright has been tough in this one!
the one thing about any Batman iteration I can't handle is seeing Alfred in pain, specially suffering for Bruce's safety. that's one of the reasons I loved Arkham Origins storytelling
Good point! I loved Michael Caine as Alfred!
Excited to see you start this journey of The Dark Knight Trilogy with Batman Begins, and you’ll absolutely love them
Loved this one!! Can’t wait for the rest!
@@LiteWeightReacting The Dark Knight is easily the absolute best, and you’ll love Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker in the next movie
I’ve obviously seen some memes and pics from the movie but I’m kinda in the dark on the series as a whole so I can’t wait to see what the hype is about!
“Why do we fall?” Such a powerful line. Batman never misses. That’s why he is my favorite.
He’s so quotable!
In the k-drama "Run On" that line was given as the main character's motivation for becoming a subtitle translator -- "Without subtitles, I'd never have understood this profound line," she said.
Loved this reaction! It's rare to find someone who is a fan of batman that hasn't seen these movies, and it made for a unique perspective. Really enjoyed how giddy you were throughout. Your laugh is infectious, and it really lifted my spirits today. Hope you're doing well, and can't wait for your next upload.
Glad you enjoyed the reaction!! I knew I’d have a unique perspective to bring seeing that I just got into Batman in 2020 and played the Arkham games!
5:45 That is only recent history that have been written that way, for most of Batman's 85 year old history his parents have been upstanding citizens.
That’s what I thought! In this movie it felt like they were not only upstanding but perfect citizens!
I'm starting to like the real world look at Bruce's family that's been given to us in the last decade. It's just like what the Alfred from the Batman TellTale series said, his family were billionaires. And we all know you don't get that kind of money, power, and influence by playing by the rules, being kind, and generous. It's like how we all know Tony Stark's families' money mainly came from making weapons for the government. Plus, Bruce was only 8 years old when he lost his parents, so he only remembers them through his child-like innocence as being loving and kind, and going by how most of the people around him choose to remember them. There are things about them that he may not know about because he was too young to know.
The idea that his mother's side of the family has a history of mental illness is something that's been apparent since before they used it in The Batman film and the Batman: Earth One graphic novels. Between his other cousin, Elizabeth being kidnapped and brainwashed into being a deranged killer named Alice, and the Flashpoint version of his mother, Martha, going insane and becoming that reality's version of the Joker, the fact that Alfred thought that Bruce was a bit crazy when he started becoming Batman make more sense in that context if it runs in the family. Not to mention I've long since theorized that the Wayne family might share blood with one of Gotham's most notorious crime families; possibly the Falcones. Like either his grandmother or his great-grandmother might've been a Falcone that married into the Wayne family, which just ties back into his family being not all that clean. But this just comes from me playing Mafia games and watching mafia movies and thinking that Bruce kinda looks Italian. (The slick black hair, the blue eyes, the tough guy attitude, and the need to avenge his family.)
This is my fav Batman trilogy the music by Hans Zimmer is amazing and the acting and real world ish take on the characters is great. There are some very good animated DC films that you will also love, Batman under the Red Hood, Justice League Flashpoint
Slowly learning Hans Zimmer is the freakin GOAT!
yes yes yes@@LiteWeightReacting
@LiteWeightReacting time will tell just how MUCH this is true! So many more to come, The Dark Knight awaits... 🤡
@@LiteWeightReacting yes he was the man mostly everything
Pound for pound the DC animated movies are better than the WB/DC live action films.
Great film that really shows how Bruce Wayne developed his fighting skills and toughness.
Now we know how he learned to kick butt.
And that ending was awesome.
Batman didnt kill anyone.
But he didnt have to help Rha's Al Ghul either.
Clever, clever.
Certainly seems like they caused a lot of drama with that decision!
That's actually letting someone die. I dunno why that decision was made to do it that way. 😅 An actual liability. It got way too technical and semantic there.
*“And one day you catch yourself wishing the person you loved had never existed, so you'd be spared your pain”*
This movie helped me to get through a rough break up years ago.
My favourite from this amazing trilogy.
knowing all the batman lore and never seeing these movies was probably such a treat to get to watch.
I loved the integration of Ras' Al Ghul in the Nolanverse, they came up with a play on the theme of immortality but in a realistic grounded setting.
I agree!! It all made sense!
I mean Ra's wouldn't stay dead. He would have been brough back via the Pit off screen.
@@ItApproaches it's not the same as the traditional Ras' backstory.
In the Nolanverse, there is no real supernatural plot threads so there are two possibilities.
1. Liam Nesson IS Ras' and has one human life but uses decoy's as a front while he controls from the shadows.
2. The title of Ras' Al Ghul is an honorific title passed down to the leader of the league or shadows (assassins) and Liam Nesson Is the current Ras' Al Ghul.
In defense of the bats, no you won't get touched by them. Their ultrasound 3D-imaging is super precise, plus their little brains process the data much faster than we do. To them, we are sluggish giants moving in slow motion, so they have zero problems to avoid even the slightest accidental contact. Pretty cool little buggers, they are.
Oh that’s really cool!
Batman came to life in the 70s with the Batman TV show. That was a classic cartoon TV Series. The Dark Batman series created a whole new character in the 90s.
“Training is nothing. Will. Is Everything. The will to act.”
So many good lines!
It's going to be interesting watching these reactions since you have some Batman knowledge. I hope no one spoils them for you.
All my comments are screened before I read them so no need to worry about being spoiled 😊
2:40 The animated series had flashbacks to Bruce's pre Batman training in some episodes but this film was the first to show it in live action.
That’s awesome! Thanks for pointing that out!
This suit is my favorite suit of all the films. It makes Bats look the most menacing and believable as to why the criminals fear him.
Thank you for not cutting out the two best lines of the movie at the end between Gordon and Batman.
This movie and Spider-Man 2 are true cinema from the early 2000’s. Looking forward to The Dark Knight reaction 😌
Facts man. In my opinion, Spider-Man 2 and The Dark Knight are the greatest superhero films ever made.
Can’t wait to see what the hype is about with The Dark Knight!
@@LiteWeightReacting It’s an incredible movie. Heath Ledger’s performance was iconic.
Super looking forward to this one!

"He Looks Like A Dementor"
It's funny you should mention that, Teagan. Considering that the actor who played Commissioner Gordon is Gary Oldman, the actor who played Sirius Black in the Harry Potter series
Her reaction was too cute 😂😂
I still don't know how I had not found your channel before, but I am glad I did. This is still one of my favorite trilogies, and thank you for taking the time to do this reaction🌹

"Is That Who Think It Is?, Joffery?"
It most definitely is Jack Gleason, who played Jeffery Lannister in "Game Of Thrones"
@LiteWeightReacting Fun Fact: Cillian Murphy (Scarecrow) actually auditioned to play Batman. You can find the footage of him in the suit on RUclips.

I loved how David Goyer literally took inspiration from Scarecrow's first appearance in the Animated Series. "Taste of your own medicine, Doctor?"
It’s always a good idea to pay homage to the source material! Especially when the source material is so damn good!

Great reaction! I love how you're tackling the Nolan films, easily my favorite director going right now.
I like how you're not running through the Batman trilogy consecutively. Great choice!
Omg, Inception might be one of the better films of all time. Can't wait to see your reaction!
Should be a fun ride 😊
Yay! So happy my strategy makes sense! Can’t wait to share all my reactions with you!!
Really liked both reactions so far! Feels really genuine and honest. One of the best new reactors out there right now. Keep up the great work and see you on the next one!
Thank you Justin! Just recorded my reaction to Inception last night. Hope you’ll check that one out to when it drops! 😊
That's so cool that you've already checked out Batman across all media, that original animated series is largely considered the core "mythology", as far as telling the pure story and nailing the characters and tone, and the animated theatrical film Mask of the Phantasm is still one of the best Batman movies. BTW (you may already know this) the Nolan films were a very purposeful departure from the other versions, he never intended to make something that would fit into a superhero universe. These are more like a "what if Batman existed in the real world" experiment, and that's why some elements may feel less fantastical, more weighted in reality compared to all those other versions. I hope you enjoy the series, because they get even better from here!
I think Nolan’s take is a super interesting one! I’m liking it a lot so far and can’t wait to see the Dark Knight!
For only reacting to two movies (this and the wonderful "Interstellar"), I have to say that you did a marvelous job on both. And from the number of comments, it looks like your channel will grow very rapidly, especially since you let the films breath without over talking or over reacting. I was so impressed that I decided to subscribe. Keep up the great work.
That makes me so happy!!! I’m having so much fun with this and I’m glad you are too! Inception is up next!
Awesome reaction to this epic film
In my opinion the Dark Knight trilogy and the Batman 2022 are the best we've seen of Batman on the big screen. Both Christopher Nolan and Matt Reeves nailed it
Never really cared all that much for Tim Burton's Batman films but I love the visuals style and the music in those films
Thank you! Can’t wait to continue with this trilogy!
Agreed! Batman 2022 was a great surprise.. Pattinson nailed it!
I find it so friggin adorable that she cries during all of the dramatic moments! 😍
I love your genuine emotions and I think Nolan's filmography is the best way to begin. Great reaction, I'll be waiting the next one!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the video and can’t wait to share my future Nolan reactions with you!
Again with the scarf...scarfs are sespools of germs. He was doing him a favor by burning it. Keep the fire going. 😀
🤣🤣
Christopher Nolan set out to create a Batman world that was realistic (or as realistic as a comic book movie can be). He wanted to showcase what these characters would be like if they existed in the real world. It's still mostly comic book accurate but less mystical and magical. Also this predates the MCU and Arkham Games, and you can see this movie's influences on Iron Man's origin
It's okay to like both Marvel and DC haha. Early Marvel was top tier and of course Infinity Saga. I hope you watch Zack Snyder's Man of Steel eventually
It was no bearing on Iron Man, the film. When you started going on about "it's ok to like..." i knew it was going to be a comparison,"which is better" social media thing. That's so 2016, if ever...
@@genghisgalahad8465 What do you mean? Talk about projection. I praised early MCU and the Infinity Saga. Not once did I saw one was better than another. I was being legit that it's okay to like both. Jon Favreau (director of Iron Man) even said in an interview he liked seeing Batman put his suit together in Batman Begins and it inspired him during certain scenes in Iron Man (specifically when he's in the cave making the first suit in Iron Man)
GOOD TO SEE LITEWEIGHT DOING REACTIONS!

My favorite of the trilogy, and it is a genuine pleasure watching someone enjoy it as much as you did.
Just watched the full version, thanks for getting it up! Definitely worth the wait, really enjoyed both the movie and the reaction. I remember seeing these movies before but it's been so long that almost all of it feels new to me, really looking forward to more reactions😄
Thanks! This was such a nightmare to get uploaded! Hopefully with my new PC I won’t have as many issues moving forward!
can't wait for you to watch the other two - the endings on both make me cry Every. Time. Christopher Nolan + Hans Zimmer is just a perfect match.
Awesome! Can’t wait to see the next two to see what the hype is all about!
I 100% agree with the dark feel of this movie being what makes it a good movie. I grew up with the original Batman series on tv. Yes I am an older than dirt. I had watched all the major Batman movies, it was not until I saw this Batman that I felt they finally captured the dark Batman the character was always meant to be. #5 still binge watching your videos. Someone please stop me. 😃
Good one, LW! These are my favorite Batman movies. So good. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂
I love your reaction you having the background knowledge made this a truly fun experience to another Batman fan!
League of Shadows is used interchangeably with League of Assassins, yes.
The way she knew it was Bruce immediately broke my heart into pieces. I LOVE BATMAN!
When I look at reactors, reacting to movies, the first thing I look at is how the reactions are done. And the EDITING of the clips that you show. You nailed it. Good balance of your reactions and showing the parts of the movie that I felt were important. Subscribing and looking forward to seeing more of your reactions.
Thanks! This is reassuring because I’ve had a few comments on this video saying I talked too much and cut too much out! But this video was really tough to not get blocked!
Pro tip....the scene of Batman climbing vertically outside the building then talking to the kid.... throwback to the old TV show! Also if u like Chris, go check out his first big release movie, which is the mindf.ck of the universe, Memento!! Still my favorite Nolan movie! I think his brother writes most of his scripts. Nolan u will see in his movies, likes to use actors over and over. Also what he did for the movie, Interstellar, is off the charts!
Hans Zimmer’s score in this trilogy is pure magic. You’ll hear this music in your head for a very long time
Just like Interstellar! Hans is the goat of movie scores!

The League of Shadows and League of Assassins both exist and are affiliated, mostly by Ra's being in charge of both. Different storylines have Ra's handing over (or losing) control of one or the other to various people like Shiva or whomever. The Shadows is more of a cult where the assassins are straight up assassins for hire.
Oh, thanks for clearing that up! I was definitely a bit confused!
Fun fact: That nightmare Batman Crane saw at 26:10 was not CGI, it was an actual mask. Back when movies went the extra mile with practical effects sometimes, instead of always computer, I love it. 😄 Glad you're loving the Nolanverse trilogy! 🦇🦇

8:10 What's very sad is that just a few short years after Batman Begins, Liam Neeson actually went through that pain for real. He was vacationing with his wife in Canada, taking some skiing lessons at Mont Tremblant Resort, when she fell and hit her head. She was wearing a helmet, but it was a very nasty fall. She at first refused medical help, then started to develop a migraine within 2 hours of the fall. She fell unconscious, was flown to a specialist head trauma unit in New York, where she died two days later from an epidural hematoma.
