If I don’t have a uc1 but have the 360 software, can I still map 3rd party plugins so I can see the parameters in the 360 mix console and be able to use my mouse to turn the knobs?

Interesting point...I would think yes if you have 360 console and 360 link as the Uc12 is just the hardware controller...Id have to try it to be 100%.

@@Newmusicreview I was just curious because its so much faster to mix with a mouse with everything on screen in front of me instead of having to turn to my side to use the controllers. Because I’m a composer so my midi controller is on my desk and if I had the ssl controllers, they would have to go on the sides of the desk.

@@es__music Indeed....but you know there is something about being able to twiddle with a number of controls at the same time...;-)

Ok so I just tried the 360 link with a 3rd part plugin and operated the parameter with the mouse, I have to say Waves Plugins were lagging in response, but Soothe 2 was fine, I used the mouse scroll wheel to make adjustments.

Great video on this topic, with so many options and controllers, Avid w Eucon custom knobs, SSL did an amazing job w 3rd party. Ideally what do you do if you have an EQ with 6 bands or more… can they be paged and mapped?

I dont believe so, it is one of the limitations but then I guess most controllers will run out at some point.

@@Newmusicreview I think eucon has paging gonna investigate. Again really great informative video!

@@Newmusicreview Hey maybe you know this off the top of your head - but why is there a mapping for something called: Saturation Amount (knob graphic) and Saturation In (button graphic) when in the Configurator Panel for a plugin? But those don't exist on the hardware and they disappear anyhow when you leave the configurator... Assume its SSL plugs only that have a saturation circuit that adjusts based on another dial or such?

I find 360 works amazingly with a touch screen monitor. You can cut out the need for external controller hardware as you've got direct interaction with the 360 controls. It's now part of my workflow as it mimics working on a hardware console where each channel is laid out exactly the same

Does Studio One display the plugin name hosted within 360 link? With other DAWs I've only seen them displayed as "360 link" and not the name of the plugin that instance is hosting.

Ok I think I understand....and no it doesnt do that automatically, but of course you can edit the text in the plug name from 360 link to whatever you want....thanks for checking in !
