    I am a Naza guy, however I am building a fun fpv light racer and figured I'd give the KK board a shot since it's a third of the price. Now after watching your video, which I very much appreciate, I am very confident this board will do what I want. Thank you for the video and time you put in making it.

      eluminerRC Thank you for this video very professional!! Okay on my KK2.0 in the Misc setting I have to keep my Minimum throttle to 20 or else all motors worn't start up at the same time. I have also calibrated my ESC's to way you have shown. Do you think this will be a problem or something like this.

    sorry for the silly question, Im a total noob building a quad from scratch, does the kk2 come with the required cables to connect the RC Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter w/ Module & 8ch Receiver (Mode 1) (v2 Firmware) or does the transmitter comes with the cable?
    If not do I need to buy a specific cable to connect both, 320 female to female?

    Help
    I can't get my motors to spin, I do the throttle pass thought and then nothing happens when I throttle up, no motors spin. Also I. Cant sub trim enough to be able to zero the channels, it's like my sticks have bad springs. 120 sub trim isn't enough to be able zero said channel. My ESCs are warm to the touch, is that correct?

    I laughed long and hard when the extra hands.appear to help with the power up, if only! I think I will quickly go and try something funny as I edit my vid I am doing on the 9X and the ultimate upgrade you can do to it. capping it off with a bit on ER9X for beginners. Nice contribution. I have had trouble with some parts for my APM 2.5 and also some config issues so I Am putting the KK on it and going out onto the icy field to fly something. I have just about had enough of the "winter workbench" for the meanwhile. It has been a lifetime this winter. Going to try your PID and general setup for the KK2.0 V2 F.C., had it on a Tri, (my first scratch multi...) and I never dialed it in properly, and with the new frame, a Hobby King x650F(quad) , I will try to set it up and get some stable and predictable behaviour even in the -8 C temperatures. I will just bring a warm battery
    Like your editing BTW :-)

    Hi. So I have a 2.1.5, and Im using a 4 in1 ESC. When I test the motors, and use the sticks to test the controls, the motors that speed up usually stay up, until I give it opposite stick. Was it a bad idea to try the 4 in1? Also, Im already spec-ing my next build, but its with opto esc's. How do I connect the UBEC Im getting to the FCM, if the usual sets of pins arent available? You know the KK only powers up on the M1-8 side on the M1 pins. Thanks.
    ps....edit...Sub'd..by the way...thanks for the vid!!

  • @eluminerRC
    @eluminerRC  11 лет назад

    No problem. :) Yeah, the logical conclusion is that the problem is in the ESC's. Did you try to change timing mode on them? Flashing might help as well, I'm not sure. Which chipset do you have, Atmega od SiLabs?

  • @eluminerRC

    Depends on what transmitter you have. You can either change mixes in your transmitter or simply connect AUX from KK2.0 to the different channel on your receiver.

  • @steveyp94
    @steveyp94 9 лет назад

    do you have any suggestions if my motors do not start/stop at the same time? I think I might need to update firmware on my ESC's but dont want to mess with soldering to pins if i dont have to

  • @eluminerRC
    @eluminerRC  11 лет назад

    Well, this is only the first part. Second part will be tuning guide. Now, these initial settings are great for quad tuning, but they will work on a tri as well. Tuning process is very similar for both, so you will be able to use those instructions on a tri. Stay tuned.

    Hello there
    I just put together my first quad with KK2.1.5 board. Followed your video, didn't miss anything. Motors 1,3, and 4 come on as soon as The quad is armed, but motor number 2 come on after I have moved the throttle about 6 notches on my Futaba T14SG radio. I have checked all the wiring and spent hours trying figure out what could be wrong. If you could help me out here, I'll appreciate it. Thanks.

    I meant flight controller (like KK2.0 board), not transmitter. However, I'm not sure why would it be underpowered. Did you calibrate the sticks on your 9X?

    Wonderful video. I'm curious. I watched both of your vireos on the same topic, but your setting numbers are not even close to each other. I guess I'm asking which ones do I use? Also do these numbers relate to a tricopter?

    • @eluminerRC
      @eluminerRC  9 лет назад

      This is INITIAL SETUP video. The best way to start up in my opinion. After that, you should tune you copter by following my TUNING GUIDE. Tricopter is a little different, but the procedure is the same.

  • @eluminerRC

    I suggest SunnySky x2212 980 kv motors and some 9" props. I use Graupner 9x5 props, but some SlowFly 9x4.7 will work as well. You'll fly with 8x4 or 10x4.5, don't worry. Play with this and enjoy.!

  • @plasticbaldy

    Where should the power from my UBEC be connected ? If it's to the Rx as
    it is in every other application then I don't get M1 to be the power
    supply. Do I splice the UBEC into M1 Red & Brown ? There are some
    critical steps in the instructions missing.
    Next - when I get into
    ESC calibration mode on full throttle I get 1 beep 4 times then 2 beeps 4
    times then 3 X 4 then 4 X 4 etc ad infinitum. WTF ?

  • @jono5358

    how do you add a separate acting motor onto the board, say i wanted to make a tricopter that had a drive system for taxiing how could i make this reality with the kk2?

  • @jerryc1976
    @jerryc1976 11 лет назад

    If all has been set up according to your recommendations, would you expect the quad to calmly raise off the ground? Mine wants to roll down and to the right so I've been reluctant to take off.... As soon as it gets enough power, it seems to be unstable. If I actually take off, it may be uncontrollable. My ESC's are HobbyKings and went thru the calibration, but not "programmed". Could that be the issue? If not, can you offer any thoughts? Many thanks

  • @dominicj6915
    @dominicj6915 8 лет назад

    Hi I did all these settings and then when I go to take off it just doesn't take off at full throttle. All the motors are spinning the way the kk2 motor layout shows. But then when I do opposite of what the kk2 shows the quadcopter takes off and then spins out of control. Much help is needed.

  • @eluminerRC
    @eluminerRC  11 лет назад

    It depends on lot of things (weight, motor/prop combo, flying style, wind conditions etc.) but I usually get around 10 min. Well, if you stay out of juice, guess what... you will fall out of the sky. Not only that, your LiPo will be useless too, because LiPo's shouldn't be discharged completely. That's why you must have voltage alarm of some kind to know when your LiPo is at critical voltage (shouldn't be under 3.3V/cell) and then land as soon as possible.

    • @eluminerRC
      @eluminerRC  10 лет назад +1

      Yes, that is completely normal. You see, AUX is usually assigned to switch on you transmitter so it's either -100 or +100... You can assign it to pot, but that doesn't make sense.

    On the receiver test menu! The moves you make on the sticks and what the screen shows is the correct ones? If so when you move the rudder on the right the screen tells left and the opposite! If this is correct then the board is armed if you lower the throttle and move the rudder to the left! is that correct?

    • @eluminerRC
      @eluminerRC  10 лет назад

      Yes, I did that intentionally in order to show that you can invert channel in case your channel is like this. In next scene I reverse that particular channel so I get left input when I move the stick to the left. ;)

  • @camhart3217
    @camhart3217 9 лет назад

    Hello, can you help me please, on my kk2 when I am doing a receiver test it is telling me all my channels but 1 (throttle) have no signal, but my reciever is definitely binded.

    • @johnrobertson7583
      @johnrobertson7583 9 лет назад

      Do you have CPPM on? Only use it if the Rx supports it. It passes all the control signals through only the throttle input, so it lets you eliminate the other 3 Rx to KK cables. It should be OFF if you have a regular mode Rx.

  • @ramazank87
    @ramazank87 9 лет назад

    Very good video, but i gain should not be put to 0. I know if it is too high, quad is not flying but if it is too low, stick gives feedback what you do. I think everything should be as video shows except I gain can be between 10-15

  • @RichardHamilton2014

    Hi there, thanks for the great videos
    In step 11, I rock the quad as described but it doesn't sound to me like there is any difference in motor speeds.. could I have done something wrong?
    Richard

    • @eluminerRC
      @eluminerRC  9 лет назад

      It's relatively hard to hear the difference. Put your ear next to the motor.

  • @eluminerRC
    @eluminerRC  11 лет назад

    First, be 100% positive that you've performed ESC calibration properly. Try to hold buttons longer before putting throttle to idle (wait for more beeps or something). Some ESC's may behave differently.
    If that doesn't work, try to switch two motors on the KK2.0 board. Switch one motor that starts normally and one it doesn't. If the problem moves with the motor, then you know that the problem is with the board. If the same motor starts late, then the problem is in ESC/motor.

    • @eluminerRC
      @eluminerRC  10 лет назад

      Thanks man! It depends. If it drifts in auto-level mode check out dhdsracers video on KK2.0 auto-level to see how you can fix this. If it drifts in manual mode, then you should adjust your trims on your transmitter. Of course, make sure you're doing this in perfectly calm weather, preferably in closed area, otherwise you will be compensating for the wind which doesn't make sense.

    Quadcopter yaws by slowing down two opposite motors. So, it's not weird if they stop at very low throttle. You can't fly with very low throttle anyways so it doesn't really matter as long as quad flies good.

      +george aura You probably figured it out by now, but if you go to your FUNC SETTINGS menu, it will be the first option on the list.

    i have found this video very helpful but i have a problem, my quadcopters motors speed up by themselves, like if i have it on flat surface and give say 10% throttle and dont touch stick it raises motor speed itself after about 2-3 seconds, and this makes maintaining a height very difficult when im flying because it just gains altitude. do you have any ideas?

    Hi! im a big fan of your videos, and I noticed something that I've been having trouble with. At 2:20 you moved the stick forward for elevator and it showed "back" on the board. Shouldn't it be the other way around? thanks

    Sure. For that you need parallel connector. But stick with one battery until you gain some experience.

      To start with, yes. For further tuning, please check out my KK2.0 tuning guide.

    Where do you have to put that on the quad? And it sais it makes a noice but your motors make much more noise i think? (I have the dx5)

    Thanks! Yeah, I couldn't get all zeros because of the bad gimbal potentiometers in 9XR either. You can't do anything about it on the KK2.0. +2/-2 is OK, you can fly with this with no problem.

    ok, ive just tried all that again, but not change, if i do receiver test and set throttle to 20 and leave it, it stays on 20 so i assume the controller is ok, the esc's are turnigy plush, could flashing them with a flash board help? i can see that you get a lot of questions so i appreciate your reply, thanks

    When the voltage alarm goes off, how many time do you have left before the battery is dead?

    This is the the best, easy-to-understand setup for the KK2. Can these calibrations be used on a tricopter? If not, can you please make a video for it?
