Gotta point out the artistic choice to have everything "melting" and dark while Gwen and her dad are fighting, but when they come to some understanding...the colors pop, shapes form. It's breathtaking. I literally gasped in the theater.
I teared up at the damn storytelling through the colors. I've never teared up at some damn _colors_ before. incredible

A detail I noticed in the first movie was that when Miles first met Peter (before he died) in the super collider room and they sensed each other as Spider-Man. Miles’s background was green and purple representing the colors of the prowler and it slowly turned to red and blue to represent Spider-Man. It was telling us that Miles story was changing and I never thought anything of it until the second movie. They really thought this out and it blew my mind when I found out that the Miles we know and love was suppose to be a villain. These movies were super well done. Love your reaction, you never fail to make me laugh and can’t wait to see what else you watch.

5:22 more than just a Dcotor Strange reference, it's a reference to what happened in Spider-Man: No Way Home. That Peter and Strange messing with the multiverse and almost causing massive problems for it.
Ah I thought it was a reference to Multiverse of Madness, i mean it has multiverse in the title
@@leritykay8911 I can see why, but that wouldn't explain the "and that little nerd" part of what he said.
@@ElizaArtz I kinda thought it was America. Calling a fellow spiderman "little nerd" feels sorta weird
@@leritykay8911 It could easily be applied to both but, since this is a sony spider-man movie, it's probably more likely that it's a spider-man reference. So my vote also goes to No Way Home
@@leritykay8911 the issue with that is: America isnt from Earth-199999, anf all of the stuff Strange and her did were in other universes; with Scarlet Witch being the one doing stuff on Earth-199999.
Strange and Peter were doing multiverse stuff on their Earth and Miguel would 100% refer to MCU Peter as a 'little nerd' especially after he almost made the multiverse collapse.

Watched this movie twice in theaters and it was a completely different experience both times. It’s like, the first time watching it, you watch it from Miles’ perspective, but the 2nd time watching it, you watch it from Gwen’s. Knowing everything abt the canon events and how Miles was the anomaly, etc. it’s absolutely mind blowing how I watch it twice, and got a different experience both times
I saw it 4 times lol.
Interesting point of views, huh?
The problem isn't knowing how to talk to your kids. It's trying to figure out how to get them to talk to you, especially when you know they're not telling you things. That's the issue with Miles and his parents, he wants to talk to them but is afraid of how they'll respond and they know he's hiding something but don't know how to get him to open up.
Do you remember Donald Glover's short cameo in Spiderman Homecoming? He had a scene where he talked about his nephew, Miles Moralas exists in the MCU, he just hasn't shown up yet.
the only reason he cant talk to his dad is because his dad keeps pushing him away like grounding him for 3 month which definitely push your child futher away and instead of being patient with miles and letting him figure stuff out on his own they try to push miles to talk to them when hes not ready.
but yopu are correct as well
@@jordynmuirbrown8173 The dad has been patient with him though. But Miles is not keeping his promises like showing up to his dad's party with a cake, missing classes, and sneaking out. We all know why Miles is being this way, but the parents don't. Grounding your kids for those things is more than fair. It's not as simple as blaming the parents. It's hard to stay calm when you keep telling your kid something and they continue to disobey you
@@jordynmuirbrown8173 which is weird cuz I thought they got over the dad kid drama in the first movie
Peter B Parker holds a book called “How to talk so kids will listen & How to listen so kids will talk” near the finale.

I’m a little disappointed that Alex didn’t understand the reason for Childish Gambino’s cameo being that he starred in _Spider-Man: Homecoming_ as Aaron Davis a.k.a. Prowler. It also disappoints me that HE HAS NEVER SEEN _SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN_ !
Even moreso than his appearance in Homecoming, Donald Glover was the original inspiration for the Miles Morales character. That's why he was given the Homecoming cameo. He also voiced Miles prior to Homecoming
i mentioned Gambino(Glover) / Aaron to my wife just before watching it. very disappointed to see most reactors didn't get the refrance.
Watching this movie with my kids, they didn't even notice the live action cameos mixed in and thought it was just another art style

Alex, I don't think I have ever seen you so wide-eyed and giddy reacting to a movie. It was like watching you on your best ever Christmas morning for 43 minutes.
I have taken my son to watch this at the cinema 3 times, and I promise it stands up to repeated viewing- there is just so much on screen, there is always something you didn't see last time. The first was amazing, but they really did raise the bar with this one. I'm really excited to see the third.
Kinda heartbreaking that Peter's guy in the chair in the mcu is his bully in Gwen's universe

Okay, I just want to say that Up as a verb meaning "being forced to have an emotional response during the prologue" is just linguistic perfection.
29:43 I believe it's an episode where Chameleon pretended to be Spider-Man to ruin his reputation and the pointing meme happened there. 31:55 the most powerful would be Cosmic Spider-Man, a version of Peter Parker who was imbued with the Enigma Force and so became the Captain Universe of his universe that being Earth-13.

“They just UP’ed us” Is now my favorite quote that I will use on every movie I watch that pulls this stunt now. 😂
i love how Hobie is the only one whos genuinely always on Miles's side, it honestly feels like he joined just so that he could help him when the time came
Childish Gambino in the jail thing as a version of the Prowler is a nod to the most recent MCU version of Spider-Man where he also has a cameo as a criminal with ties to the Vulture who mentions his nephew who's named Miles.
He got that cameo because the original design of Miles was apparently inspired by an episode of Community where Glover wore Spider-Man pajamas and at the time there was a push for the MCU version of Spider-Man to be Miles.
It deserves a nomination for best picture of the year, not just best animated film
The scene where all the Spider-people chase after Miles took the animation team FOUR YEARS to animate. This movie is absolutely crazy and a masterpiece of animation, I hope it wins the Oscar like Into the Spider-verse did
I kinda like how Miguel O'Hara is depicted here. I mean, in his own comics, he was a cop before being Spider-Man 2099. The fact that he's acting just like a police captain just makes sense to me.
A cop? He was a scientist at Alchemax, the place where he got spliced with Spider DNA to cope with his addiction to the drug, Rapture.
Idk where you heard that, but that just isn't true. Miguel was a geneticist who was working on replicating Spider-Man's powers. This is how he accidentally became Spider-Man in the first place and why his powers work differently to most other Spider-People.
I was a bit apprehensive when I first saw the trailer for portraying Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 in an antagonistic way because Miguel is a far cry from a villain and he's also my all-time favourite Spider-Man in the comics but the movie did an amazing job for portraying him not as the villain but more like an opposing force. Also just to clarify, he is not part vampire. That was just a joke they made in the movie becuse he has fangs which can secrete paralyzing venom.
unrelated to your comment but if u saw the end credits of ITSV, u know Miguel's personality is kinda retconned for some reason
@@theamazingspooderman2697 Of course I saw it. I remember jumping out of my seat at the theatre the first time I saw it because I never thought I would see him in a movie.

One thing I love about this film is the use of colors, and in this regard, I love that every time Hobie touches Miles he turns pink ❤
This was a great movie. Sadly I haven’t been able to watch it all the way through again. My brother and I went to see this in theaters back in July and 4 hours later my brother passed away.
Everyone went into this movie thinking it couldn’t pass the first one. Because that’s how good it was and then this movie just blows those expectations away. It was so damn good
Every time The Spot visits Ms. Chen, I always have the same thought: Venom is inside Ms. Chen talking to The Spot. Venom does have cross dimensional knowledge and abilities. And Chen was "holding" Venom for a while when he was going at it with Eddie. I'm convinced that's Venom. 😅

Miguel’s entrance in the theater was so fire.
I'm so mad it's taken this long and still no part 3!
So many animator left for this movie bcz of the studios demand they deserve a award too
I just hope in the next movie they don't lose what it means to be spiderman. Which is with great powers, comes great responsibility. Because miguel is completely right on his responsibility but miles just doesn't understand it yet.
Miguel isn't right. He thinks he knows what needs to be done, but he's misled in his beliefs and the way he goes about things. Gwen's universe hasn't fallen apart from her dad not dying. Miguel caused all the issues in the other universe he went to when he tried to take over the other Miguel's life. How people don't get this makes no sense.
@@sharthehereticif u listened he said a police captian close to spiderMAN dies not spiderwoman. In the comics, gwens dad is alive and well after retiring from the police when gwen revealed her identity to him after she saved him. So her story is still progressing how it's supposed to.

The little mention Miguel did about "Doctor Strange and that little nerd from Earth 199999" was a direct reference to the events that happened on No Way Home, and confirmed the MCU is set on Earth 199999 in the Multiverse, no clue why they made the decision to mention it as Earth 616 in Multiverse of Madness.

I feel like the Canon isn't as much about a Spider-person having a captain dad dying so much as loss in general. Gwen lost Peter, Miles lost Aaron, Peter (Toby) lost Ben, Peter (Andrew) lost the captain and Gwen, Peter (Tom) lost Stark and then his Aunt. I have a feeling some of that will come up in the next film.
This entire movie I got the impression that Rio is not gonna survive... She DOES have that hair that anime mom's usually wear before they inevitably die for the MC's character arc...
I was just thinking about this but the whole "canon event" thing doesn't really make sense for miles which I think was deliberate. If miles wasn't there and was supposedly the cause for everything, the spot wouldn't have gotten so powerful because he wouldn't exist or be able to get so powerful so Miles dad shouldn't die. There are too many holes for it to really apply to miles or for him to be the original anomaly either.
I was so excited for your reaction to this. I knew you would love it! Both movies are so incredibly visually beautiful, the story lines are easy to follow, heartwarming, heart wrenching, heart breaking, etc etc. I'm so enamored by the entire team that put these movies together, dude like, this is incredible. My jaw was on the floor watching it. I can't wait for the third one!!!!! Also, if you participate in a certain type of organic fungi, if you catch my drift.... I HIGHLY recommend watching this while taking a trip. Maybe not the second one, because it's a little heavier than the first one (I sobbed watching the first one), but, the first one made me find a whole new appreciation for this type of art, and every single person who made both movies. It's just amazing what humans can do, and the amount of creativity, and just absolute brilliance. Man. This is my favorite version of Spider-Man. Fuck Tobey, fuck Andrew, just fuck all the other Spider-Man's...THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!! Also, apologies to the other Spider-Man crews. 😂
Idk about yall but I loved spot so much because he partially reminded me of deadpool
Watching your reaction gave me some thoughts on the premise of the film. Miles is the "original anomaly" and yet, a villain born from his existence, causes a canon event in another dimension..? Miguel even says himself, "Spot wouldn't exist" but if he didn't Singh wouldn't have been in danger from the AlchemX building falling on him on the bridge... It's going to be a painful wait for the next film like, this one was SO damn good.
The cannon event is the captain dying, not necessarily in a specific way. if spot wasn't created that would have happened anyway, just through different circumstances. That's just one scenario however and there are plenty of others that do put skepticism to Miguel's "canon" theory, e.g., the fact that there is no Spider-Man in Earth-42 yet even that could possibly be explained by "the absence of a Spider-Man also creates the absence of canon itself (at least in the context of Spider-Man events)
Well, since there was an AlchemX in that world with a collider, it stands to reason that perhaps something would have went wrong regardless and the building would have collapsed then, and Pev being the only Spider-Man in that world would have had to deal with saving people then, and letting the Captain die. Who knows though.
Finally and lmao spot I remember just making jokes about the holes in the cinema with my homies 😂😂😂
"Doctor Strange and that little nerd" is most likely a direct reference to Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is hilarious
