You mentioned how you had a moment wherein you became aware of self-h8 (when you were looking at the other Brother) - you expressed that this encounter caused you to self-examine and recalibrate. Well HC, the recalibration doesn't end there: For even after one "rehabilitates" themselves, there are other ways in which THE EXACT SAME _instinct_ - if you will - can manifest itself. And gauging from your conversation, you still have some inner-examination and purging within to do. When we adopt the same talking points as those that do not have our best interest in mind, and like this ilk, provide no historicity to whatever dynamic we're addressing, we - whether willingly or not - become proponents of narratives that justify us being ill-treated by other groups. I think they’re both right , I agree with all of what Tariq and court said but to home in on courts point - we do have to take accountability. There’s subtle part part of Boyz n da hood that is almost never mentioned yet it’s so crucial to how the movie takes a turn . When reciting what happened in Boyz n da hood most people will say then they were on “Crenshaw and got into it with Ferris …” ; nah let’s home in on that . Ricky was literally talking to his brother in the car , Ricky is minding his own business and then Ferris Shoulder checked him , and that’s when Rick said “what’s wrong with you ?!“ and the remainder of the movie it escalates . That shoulder check that Ferris does was entirely unprovoked - and that mentality is what starts a lot of stuff in the streets and in school - that’s the part where as a culture we need to change because that BS is crazy - and it’s gets praised - not one of Ferris homies said “dude you trippin ? Why you do that to him?” - I’m using that fictional example because it’s realistic , that’s the mentality that’s plagues the youth . In contrast , One of my caribean homies who been living in America for a few years now said that “American blacks act like 1700 century whites - they the first ones to kill black , look at you in disgust and everything” - I couldn’t help but agree with him . Not to say where he from it’s any better - but I think it’s something internal in us we have to fix because , no we don’t have to all get along , but there’s no way we should look at another black person and think , how can I get over ? Or how can I bully them ? Or how can I outshine them ? - it’s some Willie lynch syndrom in my opinion / and on top of that it’s the systematic attack that Tariq was saying . Thats harder to tackle , but we can definitely fix our internal issues by changing our mentality . That would at least make dealing with the systemic problems easier . Edit: nothing systematic made Ferris do that , no white man , no crooked cop, which can be problems , but none of that in that moment came in to play - that was just an unprovoked attack - and that’s what happens everyday . When I’m outside or at a function that’s brothers is sizing each other up ready for whatever .. for no reason .. could be someone they don’t know . Every big city where we at , that’s an issue . Boondocks called it “ the ninja moment” - no system or outside force causes that - just a bad mentality that plagues us .
Well said! And I wasnt talking about black people as a whole but rather that sextor of the culture that is lost. They count too. Thanks for tappin in. 💯💪🏾

6:48 good reply. because people always try to make it seem like Black people are doing something that is exclusive to black people. and thats completely false. the things u think black people do the most are things that are being done by millions within every culture on this planet. yet when we're analyzed, we tend to be OVER analyzed. and the purpose of the over analyzation is to make black people seem interior to other groups. when that pov are spewed by people who are black themselves, its a bad look. Btw, the Sista said Black Men keep sleeping around and making kids that they dont want to be bothered with. And despite this being bad behavior, its a behavior that we know many men will continue to have for a long time. But when u examine the follow up for that situation, at what point do u hold the woman accountable as well? Because for the most part, most of the people born in the USA, over the last 50+ years are mostly here because of a final decision that was made by a woman. If she didnt want to have the baby, she could go get rid of it and the clinic wont even ask for the Fathers opinion; despite the child belonging to Father just as much as the Mother. At what point will Women pay attention to the red flags, that many men usually show waaaayyy before a baby is created/born, then start to adjust their standard/make better final decisions?
To speak in a general sense, I think the reason why that propaganda is pushed heavy is because it generates money as well as, on a macro level, is a means of cultural and social engineering to herd society in a specific direction. Think is knocking one domino over and it knocks the rest over. It promotes a very circular train of thought aimed at black people to internalize these type of narratives and to manifest them via actions. Control the image control the narrative control the mind. That’s what makes this stuff potentially dangerous.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of life explains that unless basic needs are met, a person can not develop a higher purpose. The struggle stops development mentally
The main issue is that we do not control any land. Land create freedom. If we do not own our land politically, economically, socially, educationally then we have no real power. Other folks who migrate to America has a country of origin that is owned by their ethnicity. We as black Americans don't own or control any land militarily in Africa or America.
@HoldinCourtPodcast That's besides the point man. You ask a question then proceed to give a monologue on the answer. Isn't the point to engage the guest to provide his unique insights?
We must understand thay we must completely unwire our minds and that's a lot of work but we have to do it both self work and community work and see honest talks like this can be a tool within this process of healing 🖤 much love my black fam🖤 this too shall pass but not without us doing our mental healing.
Nobody is going to call Court a Rukus because we can see his questions are coming from a real place of concern and sincerity, i support everything Tariq doing but we also must acknowledge the fact that there is a section of black America that is celebrating death and dysfunction and we must find a way to challenge that section to change.
Everyone who grows up in that hood have different experiences. My father and mother were my beacons. I have had more fights with people who looked like me, but if I was in a white area or around white people (or any other ethnicity), there were two things I never did. 1. Never said the N word. (Because if they or anyone else not black said it, there would be severe reprecussions) 2. Never threw hate another black man or woman. I'm 50 now. The problem I have with that line to thinking, Justin, is that this talking point is used as an excuse to stay stagnant and inactive. It’s like listening to someone talking for years about why their kitchen floor is dirty. While they’re talking, the floor is still dirty. It’s better to observe that the floor is dirty and then to go get your broom and dustpan and get the sweeping already. It’s not that complex.
These type of topics are money grabs in that they’re rage bait and circular discussions with no aim of solutions. My grandfather was an informationalist and he told me that there’s many in that field who want no solution so that they can fill the seats and entertain people with these circular discussions.
At this rate it’s analysis paralysis.

OK.....
Brother HC, hear me please:
Black empowerment is a multi-faceted state of being, and the states of awareness it encompasses, too, are multi-faceted.

My response to her. They can't make em by themselves😮 Do your homework on that man. keep your legs closed.
