Glad someone finally said it there’s absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying 7/10 or even 5/10 games not every game has to be a 10/10 masterpiece and realistically not every game CAN be a 10/10
The issue is more the advent of ‘mid’ as an adjective. Anything not perfect, but not absolute “memorable” dogshit, is “mid,” and “mid” is not worth talking about, outside of _calling_ it ‘mid.’
@@alecLogan Well, sometimes people just want a stupid game in their life.
Mediocre game is a good thing to explore, not memorable in long run, but it might give something you look after.
Just don’t call a 5/10 or 7/10 a ‘masterpiece’ and we are good.
There are two sides to the argument. Both can be considered as financially driven.
There are people who don't want to waste money on a 7/10 game because they can't afford to buy a lot of games. There are also people who are fine with a 7/10 game as long as it can occupy a lot of their time, so they won't need to buy as many games.
At the end of the day, people will always buy the game that suits their situation best.
Just fucking torrent. If your budget is so tight, you can't afford trying out something that is not a sure thing, not a confirmed masterpiece 10/10 GOTY, you are not in the position to spend your money on games at all, if we are being real here. Or settle for cheap-ass indies, plenty of certified bangers there.
And there are people who don't know about how scoring works. It's not like 10 - masterpiece, 9 - good, 8 - mid, 7 - bad and other numbers just for fun. 7 is 2 points higher than mid, so it is on a "good" side of scores.
So refreshing to see a reaction video that adding more than a sentence to the video
It's really simple. Play what you like. It might be jank, but it can be fun jank.
11:57 did i just see Brink in someones steam library? Havent thought of that game in years.
I personally don’t understand why it is necessary to explain that 7/10 are not bad games. Have casual players really stopped understanding the rating system ?
Reviewers and audiences alike seem to have difficulty deciding if game scores follow resturaunt rules, where anything above 50% is considered passable, or school exam rules, where anything bellow 70% is considered failure (at least it is in the US, I'm embarrased to say I don't know much about how exam scores work elsewhere).
Personally, I think there are instances where a game's value just can't be measured mathematically. I've definitely played games that were unfinished or even downright broken that are still irreplacable to me.
A seven out of ten is by relativity, a good game. Protect good games ❤
Maaan, I love Shadow of Mordor. Quick and fun combat, many ways to kill orcs and you can mount one of the monsters you kill.
My way of scoring is based on my experience with stuff I like drinking/would never drink:
10 - Fresh Orange Juice
9 - Orange Juice
8 - Fresh Juice
7 - Juice
6 - Fresh Water
5 - Warm Water
4 - Old Water
(Were entering on "Would never drink territory")
3 - Dog Water
2 - Sea Water
1 - Sea Water with a feeling of Chlorine
Where do you rank Grape and Apple juice?
@@kernium Grape is Orange Juice tier, Apple is Fresh Juice tier.
watchdogs 1 is the best john wick simulator game out there
Ubisoft undoubtedly possesses a vast amount of untapped potential. With a workforce of 20,000, they could easily have surpassed the likes of Activision Blizzard, Take-Two, and EA in the gaming industry. However, they seem to consistently regress into their comfort zone, relying on familiar franchises and formulas.
Their trajectory reminds me of Manchester United's decline. Dominant in the 2000s and early 2010s, they've since become a shadow of their former selves in the late 2010s and 2020s. It's as if Ubisoft, like Manchester United, has lost its innovative spirit and drive for excellence, settling for mediocrity instead of striving for greatness.
Dont know why they need defending tbh 7/10 has always been GOOD imo
6 & 5 are often decent if not good its 4 and lower that are bad with ocasional guilty plesure game mixed in.
I just wish 5/10 was considered average and not the 7/10 nearly everyone uses.
Who would've thought one of my favorite games of all time was a 7.8/10, called Death's Gambit. At start it was super clunky.. for many. I just loved it from start to finish, did a lot of speedruns and, even when they updated the whole game so people can call it "playable", I still loved it to death. I would argue I prefer the previous version more, even though the update did wonders to the story and longevity, also making sure the speedrun achievement wouldn't end in "casual" 30 minutes like the 1.0 did, instead forcing at least 1 hour, maybe 2 if you want to keep it simple and casual. I would recommend Death's Gambit but I totally understand it's not for everyone.
Thats why i prefer sandboxes like Mount and Blade, Starsector or Rimworld this days. Just chilling here, roleplaying and generating my own stories to share with friends, without worrying about a damn. Thats the stuff:)
Thanks man, it was fun to rewatch it with you company. By the way, is Borderlands 3 really that bad story wise? I enjoyed second one, well because of characters mostly, but still.
yo how much time you put into lords of shadow 1 and 2?
Crackdown 3 was done dirty
9:21 ugly world -is new york- what did ign mean by this fellow mets?
To be fair, New York can get exceedingly dirty
Hey can you react to the dnd Doug video it the funniest 😂
i have that mentalety twords games that my freinds thinka are shit i can enjoy for any reason
Ubisoft earned my dislike when they mismanaged Heroes of Might & Magic franchise. Tough props to them for as badly as they did it HoMM 6 always online portions were made to work without internet conection.
I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a mediocre ass 7/10 game. But I also just barely ever buy AAA games anymore, 95% of them are just fucking slop these days, outside of your occasional Eldin Rings and the like. Indie's are where it's at these days, because most AAA companies just want to try to squeeze you for some stupid ass cosmetic or material bundle or half assed DLC. At least Indy dev's have to TRY to make a fun and interesting game, and they'll be like a quarter of the price.
I've played 3/10 games that I enjoyed more than certain 10/10 titles.
Im curious
What games have played?
Ghost Recon Wildlands is not a 7/10 bud. It's a 10/10 holmes
