  • Waking up in fog, I try taking a short cut along unknown dirt tracks to get back onto the GPS route I was following. Which leads me through National Parks, state forest and logging areas until i pop out into stunning valleys. Then I race north to try and beat the on coming storms.

    Ah cool, thanks heaps Joe! Appreciate the mention and link , mate 😎👍 Funny, I knew when you went up England's Road you were in for a steep decent to get back to the tar...lol Nice back run to avoid Coffs though 👍 Look forward to your next video series mate - cheers🍻

      haha so it wasn't just me who though that was step 😂. It wasn't bad coming down the decent, but when I first saw the decent I was like damn that does look steep. At least I kept it upright.
      I'll have to go back through your's again before I next come down, so much to explore in that area.

    Hello Joe. Really enjoyed this video IMMENSELY!!! I rest amazed at your faith in the universe and you serve as an inspiration to me: going along that path for two hours without seeing one car or person??? WOW! I HAVE to live that experience. I think that it would be very confidence-inspiring! Also I IMMEDIATELY JUMPED to your shop when I heard about your poster(s) and I save bravo to you for some good-looking graphics! A REAL BUMMER about the international postage costs (I live in Eastern Canada). I hade the ochre background all lined up for my study!!! And the model/color of the REH that you drew was exactly the same as mine down to the brown seats (that I converted from the stock black). Well for the moment it is on my phone screensaver.
    RE should sponsor you! You are doing a great job of selling the merits of this bike! I'd send a good word for you to them but here in North America they are notorious for not getting back to their customers 😡😡😡You make me love my bike even more while I watch your videos and wait for the temperature to rise. Can't wait for the next series. Thanks for all the hard word! Cheers mate!

    Joe, can you make a video about the dangers and risks to consider when solo adventuring? I recently dropped my bike on a dirt hill, but I had a phone signal and constantly beeping attracted another rider. But yesterday I was on a worse hill - longer, steeper, rougher with bends - no phone, gps stopped working, isolated and nowhere near anyone. If I needed help I would have been in trouble. What do you prepare for, how do you save yourself, what have you learned to avoid?

    • @freewayproject
      @freewayproject  5 месяцев назад

      thanks for the suggestion. Yes I can probably do a video on that in the future. I always travel with an EPB (electronic Personal Beacon) so even with out phone reception I can still get help.
      Also knowing ones skill, I rode a dirt bike so I could get my skills up before going riding solo and I don't even go close to pushing my ability/skills when I am riding solo, I have turned around on tracks that I may have been able to get through but if there is a chance I could have issues I'll turn around. I am always thinking is this track going to be easy to get through, If I am on a track like Sky Trek in the Flinders Rangers where I know there are going to be others coming through and that I am within a few hours walk of help, I might push it a little more but still, well below what I have done on a dirt bike.
      It is always about knowing you have no help coming anytime soon, and that I am out there for fun not to push myself as that you can do when you're with others.

    RUclips works off of likes, comments, subscriptions, nothing fancy, and, if your subscribers click the bell icon they’ll be notified when you post a new one. It also helps if the video is shared on social media. As far as I can tell my camera gear hasn't suffered yet, but thanks for the heads up, I’ll have to do some checks. I liked that opening clip, I saw a potential for a real sweet B&W image, the contrasty light on the trees was perfect for it, perhaps something in a vertical crop..... 🤔 I had some good dirt track two weekends ago, it's just a joy is it not?

    Hi Joe, great vlogs. Out of interest why is the tripper pod gaffa taped?

    • @freewayproject
      @freewayproject  8 дней назад

      Thanks Greg, it's great to hear you enjoyed it. Well the answer is the dynamic range of my eyes haha. So in the Roam Australia series I think about episode 23 I was in the middle of Australia, I started riding very early in the morning in the dark, as there is no light pollution out there and there was no moon it was pitch black, the tripper display was shining up into my face and compare to the head light my eyes could not adjust because of the difference between the bright like and the blackness which meant I could not see the road. So I had to tape over it to solve the issue which it did. Then I never got around to pulling the tape off. If you're in the city the street light and ambient light is enough so the difference between the light and dark is still with in the eyes ability. It's a rare thing to be in actual pitch black so I gather that's why they would have never come across this issue when testing the bike.
      It a long winded answer but I hope it makes sense.
