We live in Rockford IL area. Here we have the Laurent house, Frank Lloyd Wright house. The story goes that FLW through Mr Laurent started buying all of the piano hinges that then were used on so many more homes going forward. Rockford Products the manufacturer that I heard was producing them. Such a good idea, that style of hinge.

Both families collected Scheier pottery. The 2nd house window blocks remind me of Pez candy.

In many Wright homes, he used a brick colored mortar on the vertical brick joints and normal mortar on the horizontal joints emphasizing the horizontal lines again making the buildings appear lower and longer and more one with the landscape.
